AN: Please note/remember, that Harry did not see Sirius after leaving the Dursley's. Meaning he didn't see a 'Grim'. He's remembering the 'Big black dog' from when Padfoot played with him when he was a baby - which is why he can't quite remember it properly.

Friday morning came, and after having breakfast, everyone was ready to go to Diagon Alley.

Jack and the Guardians in their human disguises and Harry wearing a baseball cap conveniently given to him by Phil the Yeti to help him in hiding his scar.

"Both got your lists?" North asked pulling out his snowglobe.

"Yes, but can we go to Madam Malkin's too, my robes are starting to get a little short." Harry said feeling a little strange as this was the first time he was wearing clothes (apart from his school uniform and Mrs Weasley's jumpers) that actually fitted him.

He was wearing plain blue jeans, a red short sleeved shirt, and a new pair of trainers.

"Sure we can Harry," Tooth said smiling gently "But we'll go to Gringotts first, Jack wants to get some money out so he can waste it all on sweets and jokes in Hogsmeade this year." she explained not looking happy about that.

"I'm not going to waste it Tooth," Jack said acting slightly offended "And I'm sure Baby will be there with me for the school year like she normally is and make sure I brush my teeth every night."

With that they snowglobed to the alleyway opposite the Leaky Cauldron and went inside.

The pub was slightly more panicked than usual, and there were what Jack could only suspect were Wizard Wanted Posters, of a man with black shoulder length hair and a very high priced reward.

"Who's that?" he asked out loud nodding to a poster.

"Dunno, but he was on the Muggle news last week," Harry said looking at the photo sure he had seen this guy before, but couldn't remember where.

"Well of course he was on the Muggle news lad," an old man not too far away said using his pipe to point at the poster "That there, is Sirius Black. He's a murder, killed 13 people, twelve Muggles and one wizard, with a single curse 12 years ago. Got himself locked in a cell in Azkaban for it too."

"Azkaban?" Tooth asked never hearing about this place before.

"Aye, Azkaban. The Wizard prison that's located somewhere in the North Sea. It's a place where the most dangerous and evil witches and wizards are kept, watched over by Dementors, beings of fear that drain any hope, love, happiness, or fun out of the world."

"Well that's dumb." Jack said a little loud getting the attention of some other people. "If all there are in there are 'The most dangerous and evil witches and wizards' well that's just a hotspot for You-Know-Who when/if he comes back to power isn't it? Especially when all there is to stop intruders are beings of complete fear that will probably team up with the man because he can give them freedom to attack Muggles and other weaklings."

There was a light murmur as Jack finished and a few nods from the people around them, the nodders obviously never thinking about this before.

Then Harry asked "Well then how did he get out? Sirius Black I mean."

"Well that's the big deal lad ain't it?" the man said staring Harry down "He's the first one that's done it. People say he used to be in You-Know-Who's inner circle when he was in power. And when little Harry Potter defeated him, Black lost everything! They say that's why he went after those Muggles and that wizard who was supposed to be his friend."

"What? No. Sirius wouldn't do that." North said shaking his head "He may have been a trouble maker, but he is not a murder."

"There was a whole street load of witnesses who saw what happened," said the man defensively.

"Well maybe they didn't see what they thought they saw," Tooth said her hands into fists, Jack sure her wings would be buzzing if she still had them.

"What's he broken out for anyway?" Bunny asked looking at the poster that didn't really say.

"Word is, is that he's out to finish the job he set out to do 12 years ago," the man said calmly, puffing on his pipe a little "To deliver little baby Harry Potter to You-Know-Who."

Harry gasped and backed up a little into North who placed a hand onto his shoulder to comfort him.

"Then why's no one making sure Harry Potter's safe?" Jack asked raising an eyebrow "What with this killer on the loose, I'd expect every witch and wizard in the Ministry would be out looking for the boy and make sure he's safe."

"Well, that's why the pub's so crowded bucko," a 19 year old looking witch with bright bubble-gum pink hair said from her table. "Fudge has had Auror's looking all over the place for Harry, but so far nothings come back. Seems he ran away from his aunt and uncles after blowing up his uncle's sister, but then we lost him."

"Well maybe he's just really good at hide and seek," Jack said shrugging "Or perhaps you're not looking in the right place, Pinkie."

"I have a name you know. And if you're not nice to me I can take yours and your face and cause havoc meaning you get into trouble instead."

"Please Miss," Bunny said rolling his eyes "I doubt you can cause anywhere near as much trouble than Jack can cause by himself on a normal day."

"Hey!" Jack said pouting a little, before turning to the witch "Beside I also doubt you can change into me. Well, not without any Polyjuice potion."

"Really?" the witch said smirking and getting up before getting a look of concentration on her face and slowly started changing into a Human Jack Frost duplicate, in everything but the clothes.

"COOL!" Jack said excited and circling her trying to see if there was any flaws.

"Oh gawd!" Bunny said staring from one Jack to the other "Now there are two of them! Our worst fears have been realised!"

This got a couple of laughs from the crowd and an elbow in the ribs from Tooth.

"Outside pretty good," Jack said grinning evilly, completely ignoring what Bunny just said "But I bet you still can't be anywhere close to copying me with my powers."

"Well, let's just step outside and we can try..." the copy said grinning an evil grin herself.

"Nah, maybe later, right now, Barry and I need to do our Hogwarts shopping for the new year," Jack said and heading to the back door.

"Um, nice to meet you Miss..." Harry said wanting to leave on good terms.

"Tonks," she said changing back into herself, her hair now a frosty blue, her hand outstretched "You run along and if I'm still here later I can tell you how I can do this."

Smiling Harry shook it and followed Jack out back, along with the Guardians.

"Dora," the old man said shaking his head "How many times do I have to tell you? You can't go showing off to everyone like that. You're meant to be undercover."

"Well you saw how sad Barry was," Tonks said sitting down again "Besides dad, you spilt the most beans by telling them that Sirius is after Harry Potter."

Just as her father was about to argue his side, the door to the pub opened and a new family came in. "We'll talk more about this at home."

Rolling her eyes Tonks went back to drinking her tea and watching everyone who came and went through the pub.

Meanwhile in Diagon Alley, Harry was more quiet then usual as they went up the street to the bank.

"You alright dear?" Tooth asked gently.

"Huh, yeah, I'm fine." he said smiling.

"Kid, you're a wizard, not a teenage girl," Bunny said as they started to climb the steps "So don't say 'You're fine' when you're clearly not fine. Ok?"

After a couple of wild cart rides, Bunny gladly being the one who stayed behind because the cart wasn't big enough, first place they went to was Madam Malkins.

"Hey Harry remember last time we were in here?" Jack asked smiling as his robes were being fitted.

"Yeah, when we first met Malfoy," Harry said smiling a little, but was still not quite right.

"I wonder what kind of trouble he'll put us through this year," Jack carried on in a thoughtful voice.

"Dunno," Harry said shrugging "I'm more curious as to who the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher will be. And if they're any good."

"Well when compared to the last two we've hard, that's not too much to of a problem." Jack said having no sorry tone in his voice when he thought of Quirrell and Lockhart.

Once they both had their new robes, they went to get their new books and to everyone's surprise there was a cage of those Monster books in the window.

"Hey let's see that list you got," Bunny said looking at it "Oh come on... Them books is for your 'Care of Magical Creatures' lesson."

"Well then we only need one of those," Tooth said looking at the cage and seeing two books fighting each other.

"Perhaps we should tell the shop keeper how to calm them down," Jack said grinning as he saw a portly man coming over with thick leather gloves and a walking stick trying to separate them.

Nodding Sandy went in and started trying to get the man's attention, but it took Jack clearing his throat to make the man turn around.

"Huh? Oh sorry about that, I was just trying to stop these things ripping each other apart." he said holding one more battered book in his free hand.

"We can see that," Jack said smiling "If you want my friend here can show you how to calm them down so they're less aggressive." he said gesturing to Sandy who gave a small bow.

"Really!" the shop keeper said almost crying, then clearing his throat and saying "Um, I mean that would be very appreciative."

Smiling, taking the battered book from the shopkeeper, Sandy once again gently stroked the spine of the book and within seconds it calmed down and went still.

"There, all you need to do is do that to the rest of them, and repeat when the effect wears off," Jack said smiling and taking the book from Sandy and checking his book list.

"Oh thank you," the shop keeper said on his knees before Sandy "Thank you. You have no idea how many times I've been bitten today alone." Then he got up and looked at Jack "Are you sure you want that one sir? It is a bit beaten up after all."

"As long as it's still got all the pages and information, it's useable." Jack said smiling "So all I need now is Standard Book of Spells grade 3, and Intermediate Transfiguration and I'm done thanks." he said looking around for said books.

The man nodded and asked what Harry needed.

"I need one of those each as well please and also..." he said looking at his list "'Unfogging the Future' by Cassandra Vablatsky."

"Taking Divination are you?" the man asked as he went to get the books they asked for.

"Yes, you know just to see what it's like." Harry said trying to make it seem that it wasn't to try and get an easy grade.

"It's a complete waste of time," Bunny said grumpily looking at some of the magical herb books "Unless you're a Seer, or have any relation to one, you will learn and see nothing in that lesson. Why Dumbledore has let it be part of the curriculum at Hogwarts all these years is beyond me. You should be learning something that will actually come in use to you, kid" he said aiming this to Harry and adding the book he was looking at to the desk and pulling out his pocket of money.

"Now Bunny, no need to be like that," Tooth said gently "Even if what you said is correct."

Soon the shopkeeper came back with the books.

"Here you are then," he said looking up to see who would be paying, but Harry wasn't looking.

Instead another book caught his attention.

It was a book, among the fortune telling collection of books, that had a picture of a large black dog the size of a bear on the cover, and it looked oddly familiar somehow, only Harry couldn't think of where.

'Death Omens: What to do When You Know the Worst Is Coming'

"Oh, I wouldn't read that if I were you," said the shop keeper said once he saw what Harry was looking at. "You'll start seeing death omens everywhere, it's enough to frighten anyone to death."

Once all the books were paid for (Jack getting a discount on his Monster book due to it being a bit battered and as a thank you from the shop keeper on them telling him how to calm the books down) everyone left and set off to get some lunch and ice-cream.

"We'll go the apothecary after lunch so you can stock up on Potions things," North said to the boys "And then we can look around for a while ok?"

"Fine by me," Jack said hoping to get into the joke shop and stock up on his pranking things.

When Harry didn't answer Sandy gently tugged on his sleeve and gave him a questioning face.

"Huh? Oh I'm fine." he said smiling "Just that book back there... But it's nothing."

"If you say so dear," Tooth said smiling and sitting down outside the ice-cream shop and ordering a mint flavoured one.

Once everyone had finished their ice-creams, as agreed, they looked around the shops they wanted to go, and of course Jack stocked up on pranking and joke supplies.

But what caught Harry's attention was the large group of people inside 'Quality Quidditch Supplies'.

Grabbing Jack and squeezing inside, carefully making their way to the front, the boys saw the best looking broom they had ever seen, both halfway through reading the sign that was up next to it as the others came along.

"Price on request..." Jack said as he finished reading it before looking at the broomstick. "That must mean its pretty expensive then."

"It's the fastest broom in the world! Isn't it dad?" a young boy said in excitement.

"Just come out," the shop keeper said to the crowd "The Irish International Side's just put in an order for seven of these beauties. And they're favourites for the Quidditch World Cup."

"Well that's just a waste of money!" Jack spoke up getting everyone to look at him. "Unless it's to make it an even match, meaning the other side needs some as well, then fine." he said shrugging "But otherwise there are different players, with different skills, who have their own jobs to do. Meaning they need different brooms to do said jobs and/or skills."

The crowd mumbled a little in agreement not really thinking about this.

"Yeah," Harry said agreeing with Jack "Besides, if they're professionals surely they have their own top-of-the-range brooms already."

"Well then, you think we can leave?" Bunny asked the boys "It's a tad crowded in here."

Nodding Harry, Jack and the Guardian's left, Harry getting one last look at the broom.

"It would be nice to have one though wouldn't it?" he asked once they were on the street again.

"Depending on how happy Gale, that's the nickname for the Wind just so you know, is with me, I can go as fast as I want anywhere," Jack said shrugging "So I don't really need a broom. But yeah I guess."

"But you both said back there that you don't need it," Tooth said confused "Or at least implied it when talking about the other players."

"Plus boys," North said clapping them on the shoulders "It was 'Price on request' meaning it's really expensive. So there will be no need to spend everything you have at the bank for a broom like that when you have ones that are perfectly fine anyway, and you both have 5 years of school left."

"Ok North..." the boys said together and then raced Sandy back to the Leaky Cauldron.

"Ya know," Bunny said rolling his eyes "If you ask me, Jack's starting to be a bad influence on Harry."

"I think it's sweet they can count on each other to be friends and there for each other," Tooth said smiling "Besides, they haven't done anything too bad yet have they? I mean the Stone was more Quirrell and Dumbledore's fault then them and the Chamber last year wasn't their fault either. It was that memory stealing git."

"Well let's just hope that this year, nothing too bad will happen," North said sighing as they passed yet another wanted poster of Sirius Black.
