Jessica's Point of View
After Mickey took me back, I had to sit down with Mr. Ansem and Mr. Even. Their expressions were serious, and we sat in silence, which made me nervous. Finally, Mr. Even spoke up. "Jessica, do you know what halflings are?" I shook my head before Even continued. "Halflings are people who have parents from two separate worlds. They are forbidden to exist because of the necessity to keep the world order. If one is discovered, it is the law for the Halfling and its parents to be executed. Jessica, you are a Halfling."
"So... if anyone ever finds out, I'll be executed," I summarized.
"Yes," Mr. Even replied.
"How do you know this?" I questioned.
"Because I'm your father," Mr. Even explained.
The piece of the puzzle I was missing. "So that's why you didn't want me here. In case anyone were to see us together and figure it out. That makes sense. But why the king and queen of Sunset Kingdom. Why not someone else?" I asked.
"You do look a great deal like you could be their daughter. They were also good friends of your mother. I knew them as well," Mr. Even answered.
"My mother... Who is my mother?" I asked.
"Your mother's name is Miyuu Sawai. She lives in Sunset Kingdom and looks a lot like you. Her facial expressions and her eyes are exactly like yours. She even styles her hair in a similar manner. Perhaps you'll get to meet her someday," Mr. Even sighed.
I turned to Mr. Ansem. "You knew about this too?" I wondered.
"Yes. I am Even's half-brother. I'm not a Halfling but Even is. Jessica, you must listen. You mustn't tell anyone about this. If anyone finds out... We could all be in grave danger," Mr. Ansem warned.
"I won't tell anyone. I promise." I turned to Mr. Even. "Are you really my father?" I asked. I observed his facial expressions for any sign of trickery.
"Yes. I'm sorry." He apologized.
I hugged him and cried. "Are you going to send me away now that I know this?" I sobbed.
"No, child. I won't leave you ever again, Jessica. I wish I had never done so in the first place," Mr. Even insisted as he hugged me back. For the first time since I woke from Master Xehanort's sleeping spell, I felt like I belonged.
So much happening in such a little chapter. Please don't hate me. Thank you, FanFictionReader225, for your review.
