Jessica's Point of View
Daddy held me close for a long time, but he had to let go eventually. "I'm afraid I have some work to catch up on. Why don't you run along and play with Ienzo? I don't believe I required him at the moment," Daddy suggested.
I frowned. "Okay."
"As soon as I'm finished, I will find you and spend as much time with you as possible," Daddy promised.
"I hope so. I'm happy that King Lumaria and Queen Arlene aren't my parents," I smiled.
"I am, too," Daddy chuckled.
As I was on my way to Ienzo's room, I heard a crash and went to investigate. I found Lea and Isa standing by a broken vase next to a pedestal. I wasn't the only one who heard the clatter. Ienzo came up next to me. "Not them again," He mumbled before going down the hall.
"Lea, Isa, what are you doing here?" I asked.
The boys jumped in surprise when they noticed me. "N-Nothing!" Lea squeaked.
"Jess, you know us. We're your friends. Friends don't tattle. Why don't you two forget you saw us," Isa tried.
I realized Ienzo went to go get a grown-up. I decided to try to stall them. "Well, sure, we're friends, but what are you doing here?" I questioned.
"We just sort of... ended up here... magically?" Lea replied.
"Yeah, like I buy that. How'd you get in?" I demanded.
"Why should we tell you?" Isa scoffed.
"I'll scream," I threatened.
"You wouldn't dare," Isa growled.
I sucked in a breath, preparing myself. Lea quickly placed his hand over my mouth. "Please don't do that," He begged. He slowly removed his hand. "Please forget you saw us. This is important. There's something you don't know."
I was about to ask him about it when Ienzo came with Mr. Dilan. "You boys are in a lot of trouble," He huffed. Mr. Dilan grabbed the boys by their collars and took them out of the room.
"This is a normal occurrence," Ienzo explained.
"Things must get exciting around here often," I laughed.
"Yeah... I guess so. Not in a good way," Ienzo sighed.
"There's no need to be so negative about it. It's not like any real harm was done," I commented.
I'm soooooo sorry about how long it's been. And this isn't even all that long. I'll try to do a better job with this.
