After Dumbledore made his announcements, including the unusual one about the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side, plates full of food appeared from nowhere.

"So, three Potters," One of the red-headed twins said,

"And a prank already if young Mr. Longbottom's reaction was anything to go by." The other said

"We are the Weasley Twins, at your service." They said in unison.

"Ron mentioned you, Fred and George, right?" Winnie asked.

"You would be correct Miss Winifred" One of the twins

"I am George, and this less handsome fellow is Fred." One of the twins declared.

"No, you aren't. You introduced your twin with your name and yourself with his." Elen said.

"How?" George asked.

"There was a slight inflection to your voice. You also broke eye contact in a manner that suggests you aren't being entirely honest. It isn't something you mean to do and unless someone knows to look for it they wouldn't pick up on the slight cues." Elen explained before taking a bite of her roasted potatoes.

Fred and George shared a look. They would need to work on that. It was fun to tease even their mother with not knowing who was who. Ron was gaping at Elen as she explained how she could tell.

Harry meanwhile felt a sharp pain in his scar as he made eye contact with a dark eyed professor and asked the oldest Weasley, Percy, who he was. He explained who Professor Snape was. Hermione was trying to talk to anyone who would listen.

"Hermione, breath. I know you are nervous but you will only alienate yourself by talking at people instead of to them." Winnie said, extracting herself from the conversation with Fred and George. Hermione gave a small glare but allowed Lavender to actually have a conversation with her. The latter gave Winnie a grateful look before she, Parvati, and Hermione engaged in conversation.

Just when the first years thought that they couldn't eat anymore the dinner food was replaced by deserts. Harry took a small amount of several different desserts to try, Winnie went right for the Chocolate Caramel Creme Pie and Elen scooped up a large amount of Peach cobbler for herself.

Several teachers blanched at the fact that Elen Potter seemed to be having a long conversation with the Weasley twins and they could tell that where one Potter went the other two would follow. The next four to seven years were going to be very trying by the looks of it.

Dessert didn't last nearly as long as dinner had before it too was cleared away and Dumbledore called order to the hall.

"Before we all trot off to bed let's join in signing the school song." He said, eyes twinkling. The other professors did not seem as thrilled.

Dumbledore pulled his wand and cast a spell to display the lyrics. Before he began conducting the school, he said to pick their own tune. The Weasley twins were the last to finish with a funeral march. The prefects were then directed to lead the first years to their dorms.

The Gryffindor first years followed prefects Percy Weasley and Corrine Newcastle. The fifth-year prefects led the first years on what was currently the most direct way from the great hall to the Gryffindor common room. They warned that there were some steps that were tricky and would disappear. Once they got to the seventh floor, they were led down a hall, at the end of which was a singular portrait of a larger woman in a pink silk dress.

"To access the common room, you must give the password. This term's password is 'Caput Draconis'. Come winter term this will change, and it will change again for the spring term." Corrine explained.

With the password given the portrait swung open and revealed a cozy common room. The two fifth years led their charges into the room where a few upperclassmen were lounging around catching up before going to bed.

"This is the Gryffindor common room. The boy's dorms are up the stairs to the left and the girl's dorms are up the stairs to the right. Notices will be on the board in the mornings. Your flying lessons will be posted there in the coming days. Curfew is at 8pm during the week and 9pm on Friday and Saturday night." Percy explained.

"Some houses like Slytherin have house rules, we do not have any rules exactly, but we do have some warnings and advice. Professor Snape is the head of Slytherin house and will treat you unfairly in class, especially if you have the class with his house. Try to mind your manners. Also try and read ahead in your potion's books at least three chapters if you can and see if you can get the "Potions for Beginners" book if you do not have your own copy. He doesn't teach the most basic aspects or the reasons you need to prepare ingredients in certain ways." Corrine warned.

"Also try not to pick fights with other houses, especially Slytherin. Ignore any insults. They will push your buttons to get you to retaliate. They usually do this so Professor Snape is nearby or will only hear you going after them. If they start flinging spells, dodge them. Do not fire back. And go straight to McGonagall. The one thing Slytherins usually forget to consider are the house elves and the portraits as they are seen as being beneath him. Hogwarts has many hidden eyes and if McGonagall can prove you did not fire an unapproved spell any detention or points loss can be reversed." Percy finished.

"We know it will be difficult but we are tired of losing the house cup because we are being baited into traps and so we have decided to warn you of what to expect. Now I know you must be tired, breakfast runs from 7:30- 8:00 in the morning and the first class starts at 8:30 so off to bed with you." Corrine said dismissing the first years.

Elen and Winifred wished Harry a good night and sweet dreams before they followed Hermione, Parvati, and Lavender up to the girl's dorms. The girl's chit chatted as they would be spending the next seven school years as roommates. Both Elen and Winifred led the charge on this as they were used to sharing rooms and knew that knowing each other and getting along would make it so much more peaceful.

Harry, not having his sisters to fully back him up, was nervous. He did talk to Dean about football while Seamus and on talked about Quidditch. Harry felt bad leaving Neville out, so he began asking him questions which he responded to nervously. He felt a wave of pride from his sisters for taking the lead and trying to make friends with his roommates as well. He smiled as he closed his curtains and he found it easy to fall asleep.

Small little filler chapter but it is a chapter so there is that. Classes start in the next chapter. This will follow the timelines of the books more or less. I am also hoping that I will be able to get updates out faster now that I have a reliable computer.
