Even's Point of View

I had decided there would be little harm in allowing the children to see if they could find the star. I assumed their search would come up empty, and I would take them back to the castle. As it turned out, this was a rare occasion when I was wrong. We soon ran into Ansem's friend, Mickey. "Mickey!" Jessica exclaimed. She pulled away from me and ran to greet Mickey. Had it been anyone else, I would have insisted she stay by my side, but I knew without a doubt that Mickey wasn't a threat. Mickey met her halfway, and they walked together back to Ienzo and me.

"What are you doing out here?" Mickey asked.

"Ienzo saw a shooting star and- Oh! The shooting star must have been you," Jessica realized.

"You're here to see Master Ansem, I assume?" I inquired.

"Yes. As soon as possible," Mickey answered.

"Very well. I believe he's still awake. I'll take you to him after seeing that the children get back to bed," I offered.

"That would be great!" Mickey replied.

After making sure that Jessica and Ienzo were in their rooms, I took Mickey to Ansem's Study and listened intently to their conversation. "I've got some bad news. There's an evil fairy, Maleficent, who has discovered the seven Princesses of Heart. It's only a matter of time before she comes here looking for Kairi," Mickey explained.

"Thank you for your warning, my friend. I will alert her grandmother and be sure I have someone checking in on them more often," Ansem replied.

"I'm worried it won't be enough," Mickey brought up.

"We'll do what we can," Ansem assured him.
