Chapter 7: Impishly Curious

If there is something lil' Via had slowly started to regret, it was that she never told her dad how much she hated Loo Loo Land.

To a degree, she could appreciate the cheap park as any child would when it comes to flashy and mysterious places that, despite its silliness and scary mascots, made for someplace to check. Then there was the fact it was too silly and the mascots actually too scary to entertain. And so, when Stolas suggested going there to spend a break from work for himself and Stella, Via was not sure if she should have told Alan and Loona that this place was... well.

"That sounds dangerous," Alan hummed as he turned to see one of the attracts literally flash and exploded as they were walking through the main lane.

"Yes," She curtly replied, shrinking a bit at the unflattering detail of many within this place.

"And that looks... suspicious," Loona added, seeing one of the vendors tricking a client into looking away before snatching the wallet off from them.

"Yeah..."

The shrinking continued, but there was hope in this dark tunnel: the Fizzarolli robot was currently undergoing some fixing after 'some jerk had disabled its safe mode and caused a bit of a legal issue on their part'.

Now, Via wasn't truly sure what exactly happened there, but she was glad of the one thing that this represented- she wouldn't have to deal with that terrifying mascot for the entire duration of the visit. So, it was just a matter of trying to make this mess of a park fun for her friends as first-time visitors of Loo Loo Land.

Surprisingly enough, it was really tough at times, but daddy's presence with mom made things smoother. On the specific, whenever some of the owners of the booths would try to trick them by using cheats. There was one that literally had the bottles-target game that couldn't be won by anyone because one of the bottles was firmly stuck on the table. Daddy's shot had it broken much to the owner's chagrin and they got a big imp-plushie as a price.

The entire situation didn't improve much, but where Via feared for her friends to be utterly upset by the place, she was honestly shocked when they just did something else- they all started to play to something else. Silly games like hide n' seek and tag. At first it was boring if it was just the three of them...

And that's where they met their fourth player in the form of a giddy imp that went by the name of Sallie May. She was around as tall as Loona, but Via bonded with her the fastest. Mostly because she liked her way of thinking. It was so simple and yet silly- but also refreshing as they managed to catch Alan really fast despite him having a 'record' in hiding away the most.

He was more surprised than annoyed as it was the quickest time he got found by someone, and Loona saw the potential of the imp girl as they started to further expand in their games. Sallie told them a few things about herself. She had both parents there too, and yet they were busy with her younger brothers, four brothers! Not just that, but Sallie said she also had a big sister that had moved out of the house and that was currently living with her boyfriend.

She also said that she lived in a ranch so a place like Loo Loo Land felt like a great setting to have fun like today and, as she said that, Via felt a bit bad about what her opinion of the place was. She had a bit of exposure on how 'lucky' people were at times where they didn't have the things she had- the fact her parents offered her so many nice things despite not being always present and... the owlette came to the realization that, despite having a reasonable enough point on not liking a place like this, it was also true some had worse situations that made Loo Loo Land look like the better version of it, Lu Lu Land.

Maybe I could ask mom and dad to take us all there next time. I have never seen it before after all...

Speaking of which, while they were having fun together, Via's parents used this chance to catch a break after two hours of being around them, so they were free to enjoy the the playing without any issues. Well, that was until it was time for them to stop as they felt a bit drained by playing for so long.

Still, before splitting up as they started to get tired after playing for so long, the four agreed to go to the nearest bathroom to get ready for the trip back home without needing to rush for the toilet once they were at their respective homes. And while Via saw no issue with this, the real unusual aspect of it all was when Sallie May... went to the boys' bathroom with Alan rather than with them in the girls' bathroom.

Loona didn't notice, but Via did as she expected for the other girl to tag along since... wasn't it wrong for girls to use boys' bathroom? Via was perplexed by this, but didn't let it ruin the rest of their interaction as they were soon done and they agreed to meet again for more play dates. All in all, beyond a few bumps along the road, the visit at Loo Loo Land was as horrendous as she thought it would have gone.

And as they got back in the car and rode back home, Via couldn't help but feel that her doubts were getting too difficult to ignore so... she decided to entertain the truth about those with the only one that had the answers to her many questions.

"Uh... Alan?"

The human boy gave her a tired look- they all were soon going to catch a rest home and Via would be a liar in saying she wasn't tired but... she really wanted this doubt dealt with.

"Why did Sallie go to the boys' bathroom with you?"

Loona perked up at this, perhaps having not noticed this bit but giving Alan the same quizzical look Via was giving him.

"Uhh, that's because she has both thingies."

A blink. "Both... thingies?"

"I- I think I heard of it around," Loona mumbled. "It's when kids are born with both male thingies and girl thingy."

"And since she has a male thingy, Sallie can't go to a girl's bathroom because they would think she's a boy."

"Oh..." That was not something Via knew about. The owlette had always thought it was just boy and girl but... there was another thing that really perplexed her. "Wait, how do you know she had girly things too?"

"Well, she told me she had those too. She didn't show me or anything because she was... embarrassed by doing that," Alan mumbled. "Also, I know that it sounds a bit sudden, but could you two not bring it up to her that she has that kind of situation? She told me she is very very uneasy about it and she told me because she trusted me."

"So, you want us to wait she gives us permission to talk about it?" Loona inquired and the boy nodded. "That's fair. But."

"But?" Alan hummed back, confused by the word.

"But from where does she pee then?"

He slowly nodded. "Boy thingy."

"Maybe that's also why she needs to use the boys' bathroom. The girl one doesn't have much for boys."

"That could be it, yes," Alan nodded in agreement and... Via nodded too.

There wasn't much else to ask without going too deep about it as the matter was simple. Sallie was different than the rest, she didn't like being treated differently and she was their friend. This last bit was the most important of it all as, with all those she called friends, Via had no reason to try and ever consider hurting those.

They were her friends and like they would never hurt her, she would never dream to hurt them!

New friendo getto! Quick reminder that Sallie May in both It's in the Blood and all its timelines is an Intersex/Futa. Why? Because I feel like limiting the sexuality of hell to just what normal humans can expect of life when there's magic, mutations and means to achieve a 'fitting body' would make that sort of subject somewhat bigger than anything we can expect.

Also, since the new month started there are a few news: 1) Commissions on Questionable Questing and Furaffinity are now open; 2) Pxtreon voting poll for story ideas is now open and can be accessed by all Patrons; 3) There's a voting poll for everyone available on Discord to decide for the story coming after Lovely Morons since I finished that story.
