What is love?
Is it the pain I feel when I'm with you?
The invisible knife in my heart?
Is it the death-defying glare I receive?
Or the relief when I feel us part?
Is it the way my head starts spinning?
And the way I loose my breath?
Knowing that the pain is coming,
My only fantasy being death?
Is it knowing that you loathe my presence?
That I'm your one and only mistake?
Is it hoping that you'll go away?
And with you all my memories take?
Is it the way that your aura surrounds me?
Crushing my hopes and dreams?
Taking away any flash of freedom
As I fall apart at the seams?
Is it knowing that I've lost?
That your grin is all I'll see?
That the blood upon my body
Shows my tear-stained memory?
Or is it the feeling of your touch?
The one that's soft and warm?
Is it the soothing words you speak to me?
The ones that are never worn?
Is it the kindness in you eyes?
That make this life worth while?
Or is it the hidden fangs,
Behind that hidden smile?
