Harry makes Draco warm.

He has since they first met. When Harry refused Draco's hand, the young Malfoy heir burned hot. Hot, burning anger that had been conditioned out of him since birth blossomed in his chest. Later, when he was alone, and his anger had cooled a bit, he silently marveled at the warmth that still kept him going, kept him emotional, kept him human.

Years later, when puberty first struck him and his friends, a glimpse of that toothy grin and those bright green eyes would warm him, right to the core of his being. It didn't matter, at least not to the warmth in his chest, that that smile wasn't really for him, even when it felt like a cold block of ice dropped into his stomach, with the lack of warmth that sprang from the cold, angry stare when the would-be savior spotted him.

Later still, when his allegiances were declared, and his lifetime furnace started smiling at him, that warmth in his chest grew, suffusing his pale cheeks with color, and making his skin tingle with barely repressed joy.

Now, that smile isn't the only thing about Harry that makes Draco warm. Now Harry's arms, wrapped around Draco's waist, surprising him as he prepares breakfast in the small flat they share, are what keeps him warm through the night, while Harry's still toothy grin and green eyes keep him warm through the day.

Draco smiles.

He loves being warm.
