I woke at first light this morning. The events of last night weighing heavily on my mind as I stared out the window. I waited until the little chicks in the tree woke as their mother left the nest to get food. They erupted into fits of shrieking once she returned minutes later and flew inside of the nest. It was the first time I had smiled since yesterday. The little birds brought me some joy, as I watched them grow into little fluff balls, just inches from my window.
I wanted to leave the mansion today and pay a visit to Alaric. I messaged Elena and she informed me that he was at the Salvatores; and to make things even better, Alaric's killer alter-ego had one of the two remaining White Oak stakes hidden away. He couldn't remember anything, so he was being kept in the cell downstairs, waiting for his other side to make an appearance.
Showered and changed, I made my way downstairs and collected my purse from the table that sat beside the door. As I was reaching inside to retrieve my keys, Klaus' voice caught me off guard.
"And where might you be going?" He asked as he walked down the stairs.
I squeezed my eyes shut.
Fuck. Rebekah was right. I'm not too in-tune with my senses, and it was really showing.
"I-" I coughed to clear me throat as he approached, an eyebrow raised as he waited for my reply, "I'm going to pay a visit to Alaric."
"Where is he?" He asked.
Going off of what happened last night, I don't think I have a hope in hell of leaving this mansion alone to got to the Boarding house.
"He's...at Stefan's." I replied, thumbing the key in my hands nervously.
"I think not, love." I knew he would protest to my going there, but I had to talk to Alaric.
I wanted...No, I needed closure over the death of my father.
"Klaus," I said as he trailed his fingers over the collar of my coat that hung over my arm, "I need to see him. I have to talk to him about my father."
"And you think after the display that happened last night that I would allow you to go there alone?" Klaus said as his eyes narrowed slightly.
I frowned, "You don't allow me to do anything, Klaus." I replied sharply. "If I want to go, I'll go."
I turned on my heels to face the door, but my arm was gently tugged back until I faced him once more. I looked up at Klaus as he held my shoulders with a wicked grin on his lips. He release my right shoulder and placed his hand on the side of my head.
"Ohh, I know, sweetheart," He grinned. The sides of his lips twitched, "Very well," He placed his other hand on the other side of my head and leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead. Much like the one last night. I smiled and nodded my head before I headed over to the door. "You have one hour." Klaus called as I opened the door.
My head snapped in his direction as I frowned, "It takes me about 20 minutes to get there!"
He grinned and began walking backwards, "Best get moving then." Klaus clasped his hands behind his back before walking into the ballroom.
I scowled at him the whole time until he was out of my sight.
Jackass.
Precisely twenty or so minutes later I arrived outside of the Salvatore's and switched off the ignition to the car and climbed outside. I pulled on my jacket as I headed up the few steps to the front door, which opened as I reached for the handle.
"Stefan." I smiled as he greeted me at the door.
"Hi," He smiled back and waved me inside, "I heard you coming." Stefan informed me as he closed the door once I was inside.
"How did you know I was coming?" I asked curiously as I placed my bag on the sofa in the living room. Even after what happened last night in the Mansion, I still cared for both Stefan and Damon. However, I wasn't up to seeing Damon, not yet anyway. "Damon's not here, is he?" I asked as I looked around.
"No, no, he's uhh-" Stefan trailed off for a moment, "He and Elena are taking a road trip to Denver to get Jeremy." He noticed the confusion on my face as he continued to elaborate. "Klaus, he knows where he is. And now that he does, Jeremy's not safe there anymore."
My mouth fell slightly agape, "Stefan...I" I shook my head slowly as I stammered in a panic, "I-I had no idea, I swear. I would have told you if I knew."
"Hey," He crossed the floor and held my arms softly as I panicked, "I know. No one thought any different." He reassured me as I looked up at him. He placed a hand on my shoulder and led me to the door that went down to the cellar.
"Good," I blew a sigh of relief that he believed me, "You know I'd never want anything to happen to Jer." As we began to walk down the concrete stairs, I turned my head to face him, "How is he?"
"As well as can be expected." He replied as we made our way round the corner and stopped in front of a heavy, iron door with small bars on the tiny window. Pulling the slip-bolt open; Stefan pushed on the door while I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat. I wasn't sure how I was going to react to seeing my fathers killer sitting in front of me, but then I reminded myself that it was Alaric. Alaric who was always kind to me, who always helped when I, or anyone else needed it.
He was just thrust into a shitty situation that couldn't be helped, and for that, I felt sorry for him. Not anger, not resentment...Just pure sympathy.
As the door swung open, I walked inside and found him sitting on a small cot, a book open in his lap. He quickly closed the book over and looked up at me. A little dread in his eyes as he done so.
"Hi," I smiled small as I took a seat on a stool at the other side of the cell.
"Jess, what are you doing here?" He asked anxiously and placed his book to the side.
"I'll let you guys have a moment." Stefan said before he closed the cell door.
I turned my attention back to Alaric, "Elena told me you were here." I looked towards the floor and fumbled with the zipper on my coat, "She told me everything."
His head dropped slowly, "Yeah, Caroline and I spoke about it yesterday." He sighed before he looked back in my direction, "I am so, so sorry."
"I-" I glanced away briefly before catching his gaze once more, "I don't blame you, Ric." I gave him a small and reassuring smiled as I continued, "I know it wasn't you, not really. I just wanted you to know that."
"I appreciate that," He smiled back weakly, "Stefan told me about what happened last night."
"Don't even get me started." I laughed lightly, "Last night was a complete mess, to say the least."
"Are you alright though?"
I nodded, "I am."
The door to the cell opened moments later and Stefan walked inside and took a seat beside me. His shoulder lightly brushed mine as he slid down to the ground against the wall. I could tell he had something to say to me by the look on his face.
"What is it?" I asked, slightly annoyed and anxious because I knew what he was going to say.
"Hmm?" He murmured from the floor. "I-"
I stood from the stool an moved it to the side before I sat on the floor beside him. "You want to ask me about what you heard last night?"
He nodded his head as I looked over to Alaric, who was genuinely confused by what I meant.
'Everyone already knows. People will find out sooner or later.'
Damon's words swirled around in my head and deep down, I knew he was right.
I took a deep inhale before speaking as the cell fell silent, "What you heard Damon say...it's the truth." Stefan's lips pressed into a fine-line as he gazed at me. I could see the sympathy in his eyes. "I-I'm Richard Lockwood's bastard daughter." I shrugged my shoulders gently. "A secret hidden away from everyone."
"How could you not have known?," Stefan asked, "How could they have kept that a secret for so long?"
"I honestly have no idea." I smiled sadly, "I guess I should have put two and two together when Caroline told me about Tyler's transition. His anger issues and outbursts. I remember how he was before I left. It was suffocating being around him when he went off on one, but I always felt safe when I was with him. Maybe I just didn't want to see it. I saw a lot of myself in him, but I always just put it down to the fact that we grew up close together."
"You're T-Tyler's sister?" Alaric asked, shock written all over his face. "You're a werewolf."
I looked between them, suddenly feeling claustrophobic the longer they stared at me. "Yeah," I sighed, "I didn't want anyone to know. Not until I was ready, but Care beat me to the punch and told Elena, and then she decided to tell everyone else." Stefan hung his head slightly and I sighed, "I guess I didn't want anyone to judge me or look at me differently."
I felt a soft hand rest on top of mine as Stefan gave me a reassuring smile. "Out of everyone, we're in no position to judge."
"Damon made his feelings about werewolves pretty clear, Stefan." I sniggered.
"Damon's an idiot." Stefan groaned.
"He's right." Alaric said with a smile. "Does Tyler know?"
"Yeah," I muttered quickly. "When he asked my mom to call my dad to help him with the sire-bond, I told him. He was just as shocked as I was when I learned the truth. He was going to speak to his mom and clear it up with her, but I haven't heard from him since that day. Since..."
"Since the night your father was in the hospital." Stefan sighed. "Jess?" I turned to face Stefan as he looked at me worried.
"Sorry, I zoned out for a second." I laughed awkwardly.
"You can talk to us," Stefan rested his hand on top of my knee." Don't ever feel like we'll judge you."
I nodded and smiled at him as I felt like he accepted me the way I was.
He didn't judge me, neither of them did. That is all I hoped for.
"This might sound insane, but, knowing that I'm a werewolf kind of gave me a sense of relief. Like, I'm not the odd-on-out anymore." I looked between Alaric and Stefan as they listened intently. "Bonnie's a witch, Elena's a doppelganger, and Caroline's a vampire. I guess in a stupid way I didn't want to be the only one left behind. I'm just scared..."
"Well," My head snapped to the cell door as Klaus appeared, "Isn't this cosy!" He smiled bitterly as he looked inside the cell. His eyes instantly fell onto Stefan's hand which rested on my knee.
I stood from the ground quickly, "What are you doing here?"
"Your hours up, sweetheart." He smiled and opened his arms in a dominating gesture, "You didn't answer your phone, I had to come and make sure you were still alive."
I rolled my eyes at his infuriating comment as he reached into the inside of his jacket and pulled out a White Oak stake and faced Stefan. "Ohh, and I found this upstairs. Now, by my count, there should be one more."
Stefan crossed the cell to stand a few inches in front of him, "Yeah, well it's gonna take a little more time."
He frowned, "Why? Because we're waiting for that one to pass out?" He pointed to Alaric, "No thanks. I think I'll just kill him."
"No, you won't!" I warned him and folded my arms across my chest defensively.
Klaus grinned at me with a playful smirk.
"Besides, if you do that, then you won't know the location of the other stake." Stefan pointed out.
"I can live with that." Klaus shrugged.
"Well, I can't. When we staked Finn, we discovered that Killing an Original vampire killed its entire bloodline." I instantly shivered at Stefan's words. "Now," Stefan continued, "I don't know which one of you I'm descended from, but I'd really rather not find out by dying." He turned and pointed in my direction. "Just like Jess' sister." Klaus lowered his eyes as he knew Stefan was right. "So, why don't we just find the stake, destroy it, so we can all be safe?"
"I'm all for that plan." I raised my hand in the air.
Klaus shook his head, clearly angered by the situation we were in. "So, the fate of the entire vampire race depends on you finding a stake? And to get it we need you to pass out," He referenced to Alaric, "Which means I feel totally justified doing this."
In the blink of an eye, Klaus whooshed into the cell and broke Alaric's neck in one swift moment as I jumped back and gasped.
"There. Sleeping like a baby." He smiled proudly.
"Klaus!" I yelled, "Was that really necessary?"
"Of course it was, love." He continued grinning, "Why don't you head back to the mansion, hmm? Rebekah needs your help at picking out some dresses for some dance." Klaus informed me.
I frowned, "What dance?"
"The decade dance at the school." Stefan said and I instantly lulled my head back.
"How could I forget." I groaned. I knew that if I didn't show up, Caroline would kill me. Even though we weren't speaking much, maybe the dance could be the perfect time to clear the air.
"Go on." Klaus pushed more for me to leave which only made me want to stay.
"Aren't you coming with me?" I asked and he shook his head.
"I have things to attend to," He smiled, "Besides, this gives you time to have a little chat with my sister."
Great.
As I headed for the cell door, I stopped briefly and gazed up at Stefan, worried about leaving him alone with Klaus after what happened last night. I turned back around and looked Klaus straight in the eyes.
"Don't touch him." I warned and he placed his right hand over his heart.
"Promise."
I knew he was mocking me as I scowled at him and he chuckled slightly as his hand fell back down to his side.
"See you at the dance?" I asked Stefan and he nodded his head in response before I left the cellar.
Just as I pulled into the drive at the Mansion, I witnessed Rebekah getting out of Matt's truck and frowned. I gave him a small wave as we passed by one another before I pulled into a free space beside Rebekah. She was grinning like a child in the candy store as she watched his blue truck until it vanished. I was nervous about what happened the night before between Rebekah and I, so I got out of the car cautiously and approached her.
"Have you got a thing for Matt Donovan?" I teased as I crossed my arms and stood beside her.
She scoffed, "What? Don't be silly."
"Hey," I smiled as she faced me, "He's a great guy, really sweet." I told her and the smile returned to her face.
"Yeah...I suppose he is."
"Now who's smitten." I laughed aloud and she punched my shoulder as I used her earlier words against me on her. Rebekah turned around, about to head up the steps to the front door when I grabbed her arm. "Rebekah?"
"Hmm?" She hummed and looked back at me.
"I-I'm so sorry about what happened last night." I muttered. "I snapped."
Her face softened, "You really think that I care about you stabbing Damon Salvatore?"
I shook my head, "No, but I do." I sighed, "I shouldn't have done it."
Rebekah rested her hand on my shoulder, "Let's put it down to your werewolf tendencies, and move on, shall we?"
I smiled at her understanding, yet condescending reply as I walked up the stairs with her into the house.
"So, this decade dance," I spoke as I opened the door to the house, "I don't have anything to wear to it. I completely forgot all about it."
"No need to worry, love." Rebekah grinned as we entered the house into the foyer, "I have a whole collection of flapper dresses from my days in the twenties for you to chose from. There is a rack in your room, ready and waiting."
I frowned, "Flapper dresses?" I said confused, "As in the twenties?"
"Well, what else?"
"I'm sure this year was supposed to be the seventies." I looked at he confused once more, "I'm sure Care told me it was the seventies decade a few weeks ago."
Rebekah laughed, "Ohh, yes. Your sister was having quite the tizzy at the school when she found out it had changed."
I laughed lightly, "I'm sure she was," We walked further into the house and stopped suddenly as we eyed a woman standing by the fire.
I gasped when she turned around, "Isn't that your-"
"Mother..." Rebekah gasped softly in surprise.
The next thing I knew, Rebekah had her mother by the throat against the wall.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now!" Rebekah spat.
Esther struggled for air before replying, "Because I'm dying."
The room fell silent as Rebekah released her mother and stepped back.
"How are you dying? I thought Ayana preserved your body with a spell." Rebekah asked her mother.
Esther turned to face me, "Would you mind leaving us?"
I was about to reply when Rebekah cut in.
"No, stay!" She looked at me with her hand raised in the air before she looked back at her mother. "Whatever you have to say, you can say it in front of Jessica."
Esther fell silent for a few seconds before speaking. "Very well. Ayana did preserve my body, but I'm drawing my power from the Bennett witch line. When Abby died the connection was severed. So my body has weakened."
Rebekah scoffed, "Well, if you've come to spend your last moments with your daughter, prepare to be disappointed." She said with tears in her eyes, "You should have spent less time plotting my death."
Esther narrowed her eyes, "Is that what you think I've been doing on the other side? I've been looking over you for a thousand years." She spoke softly, "Of joy and heartbreak. Your fights with Klaus, the nights you cried yourself to sleep calling out my name." I felt the pain of her words as a tear rolled down Rebekah's face, "Not a day has gone by that I wasn't right there with you."
"And yet you still tried to kill me."
"Because it shouldn't have been a thousand years, Rebekah," Esther sighed, "No one should live that long."
Rebekah threw her hands in the air in exasperation, "But I haven't lived at all!"
Esther crossed the room to stand in front of her daughter, "I'm sorry, Rebekah. I'm so, so sorry." She reached down and grasped her hands as she looked at her. Esther's hands began to shake before she collapsed to the ground.
Rebekah kneeled down next to her as I let out a loud gasp.
"Oh, my god!" I rushed into the room and kneeled beside her. "What happened?"
"She's dead." Rebekah replied, void of emotion.
The incoming footsteps made me look towards the door as Klaus appeared and looked at us, shocked.
"What's going on?" He asked with haste."
I got to my feet and crossed the room to be near him.
"It's your mother...She's dead." I said softly. I reached up and wrapped my arms around his neck and held him close. Klaus' arms snaked around my waist and pulled me even closer as I listened as his heartbeat. It began to steadily slow as he watched his sister on the ground, kneeling beside their dead mother.
"Jess," I broke apart from Klaus and turned to face Rebekah as she got to her feet, "Would you mind leaving us?"
"O-Of course." I replied and gave Klaus' hand a final, reassuring squeeze before I left the room and headed up the stairs.
Once inside of my room, I kicked off my shoes and took a seat on the bed. I had a few tears of my own that had gathered in my eyes at witnessing Klaus' mothers death. It reminded me of my dad, and how quickly someone could be taken from us in the blink of an eye. All I could think of is how it was going to affect Klaus and Rebekah. First their father and then their brother and now...Now their mother was dead. I couldn't begin to think of how I'd react if it was my mother or Caroline.
"Come on, pull yourself together." I whispered and wiped away the tears.
Turning around on the bed, I noticed the rack of dresses that Rebekah mentioned earlier, hanging neatly by the closet. I got to my feet and walked over to them, running my hand across each-and-every-one of them as I smiled. They were exquisite. My hand instantly stopped on an emerald green dress. I pulled it from the rack and placed it against my body as I stood in front of the wall-length mirror. It was an elegant, Gatsby-themed dress with a flapper tassel fringe.
"Wow..." I gasped as I stared back at my reflection in the mirror. A huge grin grew across my face. The dress was truly beautiful. Every single detail of the dress took my breath away.
"Wow, indeed." I turned around and smiled small as Klaus stood at the door, leaning against the wooden frame. "May I?" He asked and gestured inside of the room.
I lowered the dress and nodded, "Of course."
He entered inside and closed the door behind him. I walked across the room and met him half way as we met at the end of the bed.
"I'm so sorry about your mother." I whispered as I looked up at him.
Klaus' hand raised as he brushed his fingers through my hair. "She was a wicked woman, Jessica." He spoke softly, "She's gone for good this time."
"I know, but she was still your mom."
He remained silent before he pulled back from me, but his hand remained in my hair.
"I think it's about time we had a chat." He said lowly.
"What about?" I asked.
"About you." Klaus said sternly. "You've yet to trigger your curse."
I dipped my head, "I'm trying everything in my power not to trigger it."
"Why?" He asked, "You should embrace what you truly are, love."
"I've heard of how you transition, and I don't want to go through that pain. That torture, and for what?" I sighed, "To transition every month under the full moon? Not knowing what I've done, o-or who I've hurt? I can't do that."
"I understand," Klaus smiled. "But when the time comes, I'll be there. I have been through it after all."
His lips were slightly parted as he stared at me. His words only set my stomach ablaze. His steady eye contact held mine as I felt my skin begin to flare.
"Klaus..." I gasped before I let my instincts take over. The tension in the room got the better of me. He didn't have a chance to reply before I used my strength to pin his body against the mattress. His hands held by his side as I straddled him from above; his heart quickened as he adjusted to what had happened. Klaus' eyed flickered between my parted lips and eyes as his tongue ran across his bottom lip. I leaned down slowly, breathing heavily as I stopped a few inches from his lips.
He leaned his head up and his lips were instantly on mine. The kiss was deep, filled with a burning passion that took the air from my lungs. I dropped the grip I had of his wrists and he snaked his hands up onto the small of my back, pulling me down closer. I pulled back, breaking the kiss as I struggled to breath and his face lit up. I grinned back at him, and before I knew what had happened, Klaus had flipped the position and pinned me underneath his body. I let out a squeal as he pinned my hands above my head with one arm, as he gazed down at me.
The air was thick as we stayed in this position for a few moments, just staring at each other, our chests heaving heavily. I ran my hand over his chest, causing him to shiver and his eyes to flare gold. Klaus' hand shot up and captured my neck, forcing it to the side as his lips instantly connected to the thin skin. I gasped as he began to trail his teeth along the skin at an agonisingly slow pace. Teasing me. My hands ran up his arms until I reached his hair, threading my fingers through the loose curls as he released a low, possessive growl against my neck.
Klaus' right hand made a move down the side of my body and trailed down to my thigh before he hitched it up around his waist. I took a sharp intake of air before his lips captured mine once more. Moving my hands to the top of his shirt, I made quick work of the buttons. Just as I go to the fifth button, his phone began to ring loudly from inside his back pocket.
"L-Leave it," I gasped as he pulled back.
A wicked grin on his lips as he stared back, "I intend to." His lips recaptured my own as we fell back into the heated moment, but it didn't last very long before his phone rang again. "Bloody hell!" Klaus snarled as he sat back on his heels and pulled the phone out of his pocket to look at the screen.
I rested up onto my elbows as he typed on the screen before throwing it to the side of the bed. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"It seems our good friend, Alaric, has come to about where the remaining stake is." Klaus smiled happily.
"That's great!" I grinned up at him. "When are we going to retrieve it?"
"I am taking Rebekah to get it." Klaus replied. "You're staying here."
"Why can't I come along?"
"Because, sweetheart. He's unpredictable, I can't risk him harming you." He said as he lowered back down on top of me, causing my elbows to give out under his weight until I was flat on my back.
I chuckled lightly, "I get it," I placed my hands on either side of his face and gently rubbed my thumbs back and forth along his stubble. "You best get going then."
Klaus flashed his teeth before placing one final kiss on my slightly swollen lips before shifting his body to the edge of the bed. As he sat there, I placed a kiss or two on his bare arm.
"Don't tempt me, love." He warned as his back arched slightly. He shot me a side glance as he stood from the bed and smoothed out his trousers. As he turned around, he began to button his shirt back up while I rolled over on to my stomach and watched on in awe.
It was in this moment that I knew I was in far to deep. I couldn't get out, even if I wanted to. Every fibre of my being was set ablaze at his touch. I never wanted it to end.
I snapped out of my thoughts as his hand ran through my hair, tugging on it just slightly as I looked up at him. "One day, we won't be interrupted." He grinned, "That's a promise."
I nodded my head as his fingers trailed off and he walked round the bottom of the bed. Klaus hovered at the door and I sat up on the bed, crossing my legs as I fixed my messy hair. "I'll come find you when I return." He said and opened the door.
"I'll be here." I replied with a smile. He looked away briefly before catching my gaze as he left the room, closing the door behind him.
Once I no longer heard his footsteps in the hallway, I flopped back down onto the bed and released a long sigh.
Happiness. I felt true happiness in this very moment.
I grinned as I rolled back over onto my stomach and reached for my phone out of my pocket. Once I had it in hand, I saw a message from Care, so I decided to give her a call.
"Hey," She answered the phone with a sigh.
"Hey, is everything alright?" I asked worriedly.
"I uh, can't answer you over the phone."
"Why not?" I frowned and sat up.
"If it isn't obvious," She moaned, "You're in their house, Jess!"
Just as she said that, I heard the ignition from the car start and walked over to the window. I pulled the thin veil that covered the window back and saw Klaus and Rebekah drive out of the lot.
"Care, stop being dramatic." I groaned, "They're not in, so tell me what's wrong."
Another long, thoughtful sigh came through the phone before she replied. "It's Tyler...He's back."
"What do you mean back?"
"As in here in Mystic Falls." She clarified. I fell silent, thinking over what this could mean. "Jess?"
"Hmm?" I murmured.
"Please, don't tell Klaus." She asked.
"Do you really not trust me that much that you'd have to ask that?" I asked sadly. "He's my brother, Care. Which you and everyone else knows about now."
"Ohh."
"Ohh," I repeated back to her, "How could you tell Elena, Caroline? It wasn't your place."
"I know, and I'm sorry." She groaned, "I just-just needed someone to talk to about it. I was just as confused and hurt as you were."
"Unlikely," I snapped back, "Were you the one whose identity was kept hidden like some dirty, little secret?"
"No."
"Exactly. So don't you dare tell me how you are the one who's 'hurt' by this situation."
"You're right, I'm sorry but it's just..." I heard her flop down onto her bed and sigh once more, "It's just hard, Jess. To know that you're there with them and not here...With us."
I began to twist the ends of my hair, "You didn't leave me much of a choice, Care. None of you did."
"I apologised for that."
"It still doesn't make it alright."
A silence fell on both ends as the call continued, neither one of us spoke for a while.
"I'm sorry." I said, breaking the silence.
"What are you sorry for?" She asked back.
I shrugged, "For...For making yous all think that you couldn't trust me."
"Let's just...Let's just forget about it, and move on." Caroline replied in a happier tone.
"I'd like that," I smiled into the phone, "I've missed you."
"I've missed you, too."
I got off the bed and walked around to the dress I had pick earlier and smiled.
"What?" Caroline asked through the phone.
"What?" I reiterated back to her.
"You smiled."
"What?" I laughed at her reply, "How could you tell that through the phone?"
"Your breath hitched!"
"Ohh," I laughed again, "I'm just looking forward to the decade dance tomorrow night. Do you have your dress picked?"
"Ugh, no!" She groaned in annoyance, "The she-witch ruined the whole night!"
"Care, you're being dramatic. I think the twenties sound a lot more fun!" I said, trying to sound joyful about the situation.
"Of course you'd say that, you're there wit-"
"Care, don't!" I cut her off before she could finish her sentence. "I'm not doing this again. Drop it."
"Sorry," She said, "I'm just worried about Tyler."
"Why? What happened?"
"Can I tell you tomorrow in person?" She asked.
I nodded, "Yeah, of course. I'll see you at the dance?"
"See you there."
We said our goodbyes and hung up the call.
I yawned and stretched my arms up in the air before crossing the room and placed the dress back onto the rack. A smile crept back onto my face as I looked at the bed. The sheets were slightly dishevelled and the pillows were scattered across the top. I traced my finger across my lips as his taste still lingered. I shook my head to clear my thoughts before I changed into a pair of shorts and a tank-top, ready to sleep the night away in my comfy bed.
I waited up for a while longer in the hopes that Klaus would return, but it was getting late and the sky was already pitch-black. Turning over in the bed, it didn't take me long before my lids shut and I was consumed with the darkness.
A smile on my face.
