The next morning I woke up in a dazed state. The sun was beaming into the unfamiliar room where I lay on the large bed, still gripping onto the burgundy shirt. Everything that happened the previous day came flooding back into my mind. I wished that I could go back to sleep, forget everything once more, but that wouldn't be the case. The dried blood on my neck and clothes was beginning to cause a rather unpleasant stench, one which even I was gagging at. Eventually, I found the energy to get off of the bed and made my way into Klaus' private bathroom, which adjoined onto his bedroom.

Taking a long, hot shower helped very briefly. I watched as the sins of yesterday ran off of my body and down into the drain. Forgetting what had occurred for the smallest of moments as the hot water washed over my body and brought a sense of calm. I knew that had to come back to reality, sooner or later. I'd much rather go with the latter, but knew I couldn't just stay in my warm bubble for much longer.

After I dried off in the bathroom, I grabbed one of the dressing gowns from the back of the door and walked out of Klaus' room. Once inside my own room, I dropped the gown onto the floor and headed over to the dresser, pulling out a pair of jeans and a white blouse before pulling it on. I took the time to blow-dry my blonde locks before heading downstairs and made a b-line for the kitchen.

I eyed the bowl of fresh fruit which was sitting in the centre of the island. I picked the reddest apple within the bunch before I headed down the corridor. As I took a bite of the crunchy apple, I heard the shuffling of papers coming from Klaus' art room which drew my attention. Once I approached the door, I nudged it open slightly to be met by the quiet sobs of Rebekah. I watched as she picked up one of Klaus' many drawings and held it in front of her face. Her shoulders were heaving slightly as she tried to keep her emotions in check. Her composure only held for a few moments before she released a defeated groan and slid her arms over the desk. First to the left then to the right. Sending the many papers cascading onto the floor.

"You don't have to stand there, hovering." I jumped slightly as Rebekah straightened her posture before turning to face me.

"I didn't want to interrupt you." I replied sheepishly. Gripping the bitten apple in my right hand.

"Interrupt what?" She said as she wiped the tears from her flushed cheeks.

I shrugged and entered the room, "I don't know. Just didn't seem like the time to interrupt you."

Her eyes suddenly narrowed as she glared over my right shoulder. "You're not interrupting...he is." I turned around to see Damon casually walking into the room behind me. "You should know better than to sneak up on a lady."

Damon grinned, "Good advice." He said lowly, eyeing Rebekah and I. "Have you seen one?"

I rolled my eyes at his snarky comment as he stopped a few feet behind Rebekah and I.

Rebekah turned to face the eldest Salvatore, "Tragic about Elena," I looked towards the ground at her words. The guilt slowly settled in once more. Not to mention the heated gaze drilling a hole in my skull from Damon's glare. "Not to make a grey cloud greyer, but does Matt even have automobile insurance?"

Rebekah turned back around to face the table as I took a seat on the chair beside the window. As I took another bite from my apple, I jumped at the sudden whoosh of air that filled the room as Damon lunged for Rebekah, the White Oak stake in his hand. Rebekah was quick off the mark and in the blink-of-an-eye, she had Damon pinned to the wall by his neck, preventing him from staking her. As the stake fell from his grasp, I shot to my feet to retrieve it when the loud shattering from the window behind me caused me to freeze on the spot.

"Ugh..." I groaned as I placed my left hand against my stomach.

Blood.

I looked at my bloodied hand as another three shots fired into the room and I collapsed onto my knees, my apple falling from my grasp and rolling away. I looked up towards Rebekah as two bullets were fired into her back before an arrow was shot into the centre of her chest. Her skin instantly began to turn grey with dark veins before she collapsed onto the floor. As I clutched my stomach, I looked towards the french doors as Damon stepped backwards, almost shocked at the scene in front of him.

"D-Damon..." I gasped as I looked towards him. He held my gaze briefly before backing away and disappearing from sight. I winced as I went onto all fours before falling to my side beside Rebekah's corpse. "Ugh..." I groaned once more as I applied pressure to the bullet wounds. I stuck two fingers inside and managed to dig out one of the bullets from my abdomen. I gasped as I held the bullet to my face. "Wood?"

My eyes widened in horror as I heard the front door being kicked open and the multiple footsteps marching our way. I made an effort to crawl over to Rebekah's body to remove the arrow, hoping that she would wake up quickly. As I wrapped my hand around the arrow, my legs were pulled back as men burst into the room with guns.

"Agh!" I yelled as I was yanked from the floor and held tightly by three men. My wrists were quickly bound behind my back before I was led from the room. I looked over my shoulder to see four men surround Rebekah, also bounding her wrists and feet. As we walked through the hallway into the main foyer by the now broken main doors, I struggled in their grasp as hard as I could.

"Stop fighting!" One of the men yelled before striking me on the stomach.

I bent over in pain as the remaining wooden bullet moved inside of my abdomen. It must have been laced with something as it was burning the flesh around my stomach as time went on. Now standing outside in the cool air, one of the men opened the back of a black van before the other two tugged me inside, seated me down on a small metal shelf and bound my waist and wrists with fresh, wolvesbane dipped ropes.

I winced as the liquid nipped at my bare skin. The back doors of the van were closed only for a few moments before they were opened again and the men placed Rebekah in the back beside me. She was wrapped up like a Christmas present, but the arrow was removed from her chest. I grinned as I slumped back against the metal side of the van, knowing full well that she would wake up soon.

Time couldn't come soon enough...

Twenty or so minutes had passed since Rebekah and I were carted off into the back of a black van. All the time I was struggling with the ropes in the hopes to loosen them enough to free myself undetected from the drivers. All I could hear were sirens from in front and behind the van, blaring loudly as they escorted us to god knows where.

I turned to my left as Rebekah began to stir.

"Finally, you're awake." I said as I watched her struggle against the ropes which held her down. "Vervain ropes. Looks like Alaric did out us all to the council."

"The council? What exactly do they think they can do to me?" She groaned and shook her head slightly.

"No idea," I sighed, "I'm more so looking forward to what you're going to do to them."

We smiled at each other briefly before the wheels of the van squealed violently from underneath us. A sudden impact from the side caused the van to flip over, sending glass from the windows to wash over us like snow, all while the ropes held Rebekah and I in place. We both gasped as the van finally stopped rolling and came to a sharp halt.

"What the hell happened?" Rebekah groaned.

"I-I don't know." I replied, wincing as the glass scratched against my skin as it fell down my blouse and covered my hair. I took a few sharp breaths and shook my head, sending the shards of glass to fall before one of the back doors were completely ripped from the hinges. I looked towards the now open space and made out the figure of the last person I thought I'd ever see again.

"Tyler?" I frowned as he opened the remaining door before stepping inside of the upturned van.

"I'm harder to kill than you think." He spoke hurriedly as he made quick work of the ropes around my waist.

"You're alive?" I cried joyfully, "How are you alive?!"

"No time," Tyler said as he ripped the ropes from my wrists, freeing me from the restraints. "Come on, we gotta go."

I quickly nodded as he pulled me to my feet and ushered me out of the van. Seconds later, I felt his hand wrap around my arm before we whooshed into the woodland, moments before the police car pulled up to the upturned vehicle. Out of sight of police and surrounded by trees, we finally came to a stop. I turned to face Tyler as he stood behind me, a grin on his face. I rushed over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I-I can't believe you're alive!" I grinned, "I thought I'd never see you again. H-how are you alive?"

"This is going to sound incredible, but I-" Tyler began to speak but I kept rambling on with excitement.

"Caroline's going to freak out when she sees you," Then the realisation settled in. "Oh, my god, Caroline! Do you think the council got to her? I have to get back. We have to-" My sentence was cut off abruptly as Tyler slammed his lips against my own. I blinked, stunned by his actions before I pushed him back and swung my fist, landing a punch on his jaw.

"What the hell, Tyler!" I yelled as I held my now pulsing stomach with one hand and wiped at my lips with the other. "You're my brother! That's disgusting!"

"It was the only way I could get you to stop rambling on, love." Tyler said as I shook my head in frustration.

"Well sorry for rambling!" I groaned, "I thought you were dead. Wait a minute," I straightened my posture and eyed him sceptically, "Did you just call me love?"

A wicked grin crept onto his face, "I don't know, love. Did I?"

My eyes widened as he took a step closer to me. I held out my hand, palm flat against his chest to stop him coming any closer. "No...that's not possible." My heart began to race as I stared at the one man who ever called me love, other than my mother. "Klaus?" I said in a whisper. He grinned and nodded his head slowly in response, confirming that he was in fact Klaus. "H-how is this even possible?"

My hand remained on his chest as he walked closer. "Your little witch friend cast a spell. Transferring me into Tyler's body before mine was engulfed in flames." Klaus took my hand from his chest and held it in his, "Don't worry, my body's somewhere safe, waiting to be transferred back."

"I thought I'd never see you again." I replied as tears brimmed my eyelids.

"Sorry to disappoint." He grinned before I walked into his arms.

I winced as my stomach collided with his and jumped backwards.

"What's wrong?" Klaus asked in worry.

I lifted my blouse to reveal an open wound where a wooden bullet still remained. "There's still a bullet inside." I laughed lightly, trying to make light of the situation, but Klaus remained stone-faced.

"Hold your hands here." Klaus instructed as he raised my top slightly higher, revealing the bottom of my bra. For some reason, the subtle brush of his fingers against my abdomen made my body tense and my temperature rise slightly. Even though it was Tyler's body, I now knew it was Klaus inside.

"Oww!" I yelped as he pulled the bullet out.

"Wouldn't have hurt as bad if you weren't tensed." He grinned as he held the hand-carved bullet up. I rolled my eyes as I lowered my shirt back down. "Come on, we need to go see a witch about a spell."

I nodded as Klaus took my hand and we vamp-sped out of the woods.

A while later, Klaus and I approached the Old Witch house and entered inside with ease. Once we entered, I followed him down the stairs to where Bonnie and his coffin were. However, I was shocked to be met by another person.

"Jer..." I gasped quietly. The memories of standing on the bridge the previous night played like a movie-reel in my mind. I caused the accident. I watched as Matt crashed over the barrier. I watched as the rear-end of the truck sunk below the surface, and I did nothing. "I-I'm so sorry, Jeremy." I began to say as he crossed the room to stand in front of me. "If there was another way, I promise you, we would have done it."

He shook his head, "Wait, what are you talking about, Jess?"

"The crash on Wickery Bridge," I replied sheepishly, "Rebekah and I are the reason Matt crashed and the reason..."

He cut me off and backed away, "What? You were there...and you just let Matt crash through the barrier with Elena inside."

"I-I know how it sounds..."

Jeremy raised his hand, silencing me instantly as he continued. "My sister, Jessica! You're best friend!" He took a further step backwards, driving more distance between us. "She died with vampire blood in her system, you know. She made Stefan save Matt first, and by the time he got to her...she was gone."

My mouth fell open.

No...no. This can't be happening. Not again. Not her.

I was happy that Matt was alright, but Elena was now becoming a vampire. All because of me.

"Jer, I'm so sorry." I tried to plead with him.

"She never wanted to be a vampire," He said with a shake of his head. "You of all people should have known that."

I dropped my head, avoiding all sight from Jeremy and Bonnie as they looked at me with hatred-filled eyes.

"I tried to bring her back." Bonnie spoke for the first time since my arrival. "I couldn't do it."

I looked towards her, sadness dawned my face as I leaned against one of the tables and rested my hand on my now healed stomach. Feeling only regret and pain for my actions.

"What do you mean you couldn't do it?" Klaus asked from the side.

"I wasn't strong enough." Bonnie replied.

"Excuse me?" Klaus hissed.

Jeremy moved across the room so that he was now positioned beside Bonnie. "She said she's not strong enough."

"You were strong enough to put me in here." Klaus motioned to Tyler's body, "Surely, you're strong enough to get me out."

Bonnie shook her head, "I upset the spirits trying to save Elena. I can't use that kind of magic again. It's too dangerous."

"Bonnie, do the bloody spell!" Klaus yelled.

"Klaus," I murmured quietly, "She said she can't, okay? We'll just wait a few days until she's strong enough to do it with traditional magic, right Bonnie?"

Klaus was having none of it. He ripped open his shirt, bearing his torso to the room before taking a deep breath and began to extend his claws from his right hand. I quickly stood up from the table as he inserted his claws into his chest and groaned in pain.

"What are you doing?!" I gasped in horror.

He panted heavily, "Ripping Tyler's heart out. I'll jump into someone else." He turned to face Jer, "Maybe you."

"Oh, my god!" Bonnie murmured as he continued to dig his claws deeper inside Tyler's chest. His panting and groaning only intensified the further he clawed his way inside.

"Klaus, stop it!" I yelled at him.

"He's bluffing. He needs a witch to do that." Jeremy said with confidence.

Klaus smirked, "What makes you think I don't have one? Or ten?" He fixed his gaze back on Bonnie. "Pick, Bonnie! You or Tyler!?"

"Please, Bonnie. He's killing him!" I screamed as Klaus yelled in pain.

"Fine, I'll do it! Just stop." Bonnie said and the screaming stopped instantly.

Klaus removed his hand for his chest. "Good. Let's begin."

As Bonnie prepped for the spell, Klaus kneeled on the floor in front of her, waiting. I crossed the room and opened up the coffin containing Klaus' real body. Once I opened the lid, I stepped back and gasped quietly. The remains of Klaus' body lay inside. Untouched from when Alaric staked him the day before. The only difference was that it was badly burned. I used my newfound strength to break the chains which wrapped around his body before I walked back to the centre of the room to join the others as Bonnie began chanting.

Bonnie had her hands placed on the temples of Klaus' head as she chanted away. I looked at Jeremy as he glared back at me.

"This is black magic. She shouldn't be doing this." He warned.

I knew he was right but by the time I was about to speak, Tyler's eyes shot open.

"Tyler?" I asked in a small voice.

He smiled, "Jessica, hey."

I rushed over to him as he slumped down to the floor and gasped. "Tyler!" Once I kneeled down beside him, Bonnie began to frantically yell.

"Bonnie, what's going on?" I asked as I cradled Tyler in my arms.

"No! No! Oh my god!" She screamed louder.

"Bonnie! Stop!" I yelled.

Suddenly, Bonnie collapsed on the floor, followed closely by Jeremy.

"What have I done?! What did I do?! What did I do?!" She yelled over and over from the floor as she hysterically cried.

I stood back from Tyler as I heard the sound of chains falling to the floor. I looked back towards where the coffin was situated to see Klaus standing beside it, brushing off the ashes of his previously charred corpse. I weakly smiled at seeing him in his original form, but I was more concerned about Bonnie.

"Bonnie?" I began to lean down to the ground when Jeremy pushed me backwards.

"Get the hell out of here!" He yelled as he held Bonnie tightly. "You got what you wanted, now leave."

I straightened my back and stepped backwards. "Jer..." I was lost for words. What I had done the past few days was unforgivable. I just hoped that eventually, I could have the chance to tell them just how sorry I was.

I crossed the room as Klaus raised his hand, motioning for me to come to him. I walked to him without looking back, afraid of what I may see before we vanished from the house.

As Klaus and I approached the mansion, the main doors were still wide open and glass remained shattered inside and out.

"Bloody hell." Klaus said as he stepped over the glass, his hand holding mine tightly as we entered inside.

"I'll clean it up." I spoke softly as I closed the doors behind us. For what reason, I have no idea. It was pointless as there was no glass within the panes.

"You'll do no such thing." Klaus said as he turned to face me. His right hand stroked my cheek as he looked into my eyes. "I'll have someone come and clean it shortly." He motioned towards the blood stain in the centre of the room. "Yours?" He asked.

I frowned, "Umm...Daniels." I said whilst biting my lip.

He eyes me sceptically before smirking, "You killed my housekeeper?"

I shrugged, "I mean, kind of?"

Klaus chuckled lightly before placing a kiss on the back of my hand. "If you'll excuse me, love. I need to wash up and change out of these."

"Of course." I replied "I'll be in the parlour."

"Very well."

I watched as he walked up the stairs and rounded the corner before I headed into the parlour room. I poured myself a glass of wine and sat crossed legged on the sofa, sipping on the red liquid in silence. Thinking about the past few days, the built up emotions were growing with ease inside of my body, threatening to boil over at any given moment. Klaus rounded the corner, buttoning the sleeve of his shirt which was underneath a thin cotton coat.

"Much better." He grinned as he took a seat on the sofa beside me.

I placed my glass of wine down on the table and scooted closer to him. Closing the gap completely. The grin grew on his face as he leaned forwards, tilting my chin up towards his face. My hand rested on his thigh as his thumb slowly stroked over my bottom lip, pulling it down ever-so-slightly. I cracked. The pent up emotions from the past few days were too much to hold back any longer. I moved with my accelerated speed and straddled his thighs, pushing his back against the back of the sofa.

My hands were placed on the back of his head as I slammed my lips against his. Klaus welcomed the advance by moving his hands to my waist, pulling me closer as I kissed him passionately. Moments had passed before I pulled back with a gasp.

"I can't believe that you're really here." I said joyfully.

Klaus stroked the sides of my ribs as he grinned, "Well, believe it. I'm right here, love." We stared at each other, neither one moving until Klaus looked towards my stomach. "Why don't you go and get cleaned up." I looked towards my bloodied shirt before grinning. As I straightened my posture and turned on the spot, Klaus caught the back of my shirt and tugged me backwards. "Does this mean that you've forgiven me for my indiscretions?"

"I want to," I sighed and bit my lip, "It's just going to take some more time to truly forgive you for taking that choice away from me, Klaus."

He nodded briefly and released my shirt as I walked backwards towards the door. "Pack," He called after me in a commanding tone. "We can finally leave this town."

I thought about his words for a few moments. I'm sure after what had taken place the past few days, no one would want me around here once they found out what took place on the bridge that night. I was almost certain that Jeremy would tell them once he returned. Maybe it was best that I leave. Start over somewhere new.

"Okay." I finally said and he grinned. "I'll have to go home to get the rest of my things."

"Very well," He said as he stood from the sofa. "Be careful and be quick. The faster we're out of here, the better."

Couldn't agree more.

"Promise." I smiled before leaning in and placing a kiss on his lips.

I ruched upstairs to change my clothes quickly before grabbing my bag and the keys to my car before I made my way home.

The drive was quick as the roads were quiet as it was late into the night. I pulled up to the house and turned the ignition off. I sat in the car for a few moments trying to muster up the courage to enter the house, not knowing who may be inside before I opened the car door and climbed out. As I placed my right foot on the first step to the porch, the door opened and out walked Tyler and Caroline. I froze on the spot.

Caroline smiled and rushed towards me, embracing me in a tight hug.

"Jess," She beamed. "I'm so glad you're safe."

I still stood frozen on the spot, my arms awkwardly hanging in the air, unknowing as to what to do. Here was me thinking that she'd rip my head off for what I had done, but no, she embraced me into a suffocating hug.

"Care..." I mumbled as she released me. I looked her straight in the eyes, "I'm glad you're alright, too."

"Yeah, everyone's fine." She grinned, but it slowly faltered. "Elena had to complete her transition, she's a vampire now."

My head suddenly hung as I looked towards the ground. "It's my fault, Care."

"She remembers you on the bridge." Caroline sighed as I walked up the porch and took a seat on the steps, followed by her and Tyler. "She also remembers Rebekah there, too."

"I..." I began to speak when she cut me off.

"She wanted me to tell you that she's not mad at you. She doesn't want you to blame yourself...For any of it." She said.

I looked towards her, tears gathering in my eyes as I spoke. "It was my fault, Care. If I could go back and stop Rebekah, stop agreeing to the plan, then maybe she'd still be alive. Maybe she'd still be human."

"Jess," She said as she grabbed my hand, "You just said it yourself. It was Rebekah's plan."

"But I followed along!"

"Stop beating yourself up about it!" She yelled, "It's done, you can't go back and change it. She's accepting it, Stefan and Damon are accepting it. You just have to accept it now. No one is mad at you. I promise." She smiled.

"I-It's going to take me a long time before I can forgive myself for what I've done." I said in a low voice.

"Luckily for you, you're not short on time." Tyler joked which gained a punch from Care. "No but seriously, how are you?"

I gave Ty a small smile, "My body still aches. I feel like I've been punched a thousand times." I laughed weakly, "I don't know if I can go through another transition, Tyler."

"Hey, hey," Tyler walked over to me and cupped my face, "You can, and I'll be there with you this time. I won't let you go through that again. Not alone."

"I'm still pissed at you for what happened at the manor."

His lips pressed into a fine line, "I know. I'm sorry."

I nodded my head gently, "I just need some time to come to terms with things. I've barely got my head around my transition. It's been one thing after another."

"Welcome to our world." Care joked with a small laugh.

I laughed and brushed my hands along my thighs as we stood from the porch. Caroline looked at me with a frown.

"Are you coming back home?" She asked joyfully.

Seeing her so happy at the possibility of me returning home just made me feel worse.

"Not exactly," I said as I motioned towards the door, "I just came to gather a few things before I leave."

"Leave?"

"She's still going away with Klaus." Tyler clarified sadly.

"What?" She scoffed, "You can't leave! Not now, Jess."

"I can't stay, Caroline." I murmured to her.

Her eyes swelled with tears, "Please, don't go!" She pleaded. "How can we fix our relationship if you leave. We've been at each other since you got back, Jess. I need you here. We all need you here. Especially now."

I sighed softly as I gazed back at my sister.

As much as I tried to fight the feelings inside, I couldn't lie to myself anymore. She was right. How could we fix the relationship if I upped and left? How would I forge a relationship with my brother? If I left, we'd only chat over a phone call. Something which I didn't like the sound of. Thinking back since I arrived, all we'd done was argue and fight and be at each other's throat. Then I think of how many times I've almost lost her, and how I'd cope with another full moon without Tyler there to see me through.

I have to stay.

"Y-You're right." I said with a long sigh.

"What?" She smiled, "You're staying?"

I nodded, "I'm staying."

Caroline rushed to me and swung her arms around my neck as I hugged her tightly. We fell into a fit of laughter when Tyler approached and hugged us both together.

"Ugh, get off!" I laughed and pushed them both away. "I have to go and tell Klaus that I'm staying."

Caroline snorted at the sound of his name. "Can't you just call him and stay here for the night?"

I frowned, "I think I owe him more than a two second phone call, Care."

She rolled her eyes dramatically, "Will you be back?"

"Maybe." I said as I fixed the sleeve on my coat. "If not, I'll see you tomorrow. I-I'd like to see Elena."

"I'm sure she'd like that." She replied before walking me to my car and waving me off.

As I pulled up at the mansion, I smiled in the revelation that things may not be as bad as I once thought. Maybe I could stay here and things could go back to normal.

Well, whatever normal may be.

Once I left the car and walked up the stairs to the front doors, I winced at the sudden raised voice which echoed throughout the house. I instantly ran to the location where the raised voices were travelling from and it led me to the parlour room. I stood at the opening of the door and witnessed a stand-off between Klaus and Rebekah.

"What the hell's going on?!" I asked as I entered the room behind Rebekah.

"I mourned you! My heart broke thinking I'd never see you again!" Rebekah cried in pain.

Fuck. I completely forgot that Rebekah didn't know what was going on with Klaus' body switch. Not to mention the fact that he rescued me and left her in the van.

My gaze move to the red liquid that she held in each hand.

Blood bags?

"Put the blood down, Rebekah. There's a good girl," Klaus tried to deescalate the situation as he lowered his voice.

"It's always been me!" She gasped, "Not Finn, not Elijah, not Kol, me! I loved you through everything and you don't even care!" The pain in Rebekah's voice was shattering. Utterly heartbreaking.

"Drop it!" The hybrid yelled, causing the walls to tremble and I to widen my eyes in fear.

Rebekah smirked, "You want your family?" She raised the bags of blood in the air before squeezing them until they popped, sending the blood exploding onto the floor, never to be used again.

In the blink of an eye, Klaus whooshed across the room and grabbed his sister by the throat. I jumped at the sudden movement in the room and covered my mouth as I gasped.

"Klaus!" I yelled.

"You know something, Rebekah, you're right. I don't care." He hissed at his sister as she gasped for air. "From this moment on; you're not my family, you're not my sister, you are nothing." And with a flick of his wrist, her neck was broken. She collapsed to the floor as he released his grasp.

Once her body hit the floor, Klaus stalked towards me and snatched my wrist, dragging me from the room and straight into the foyer. I fought against his grasp until I was freed from him.

"What the hell was that!?" I yelled pointing towards the parlour room. "That was completely uncalled for, Klaus."

"Ohh, I assure you, It was very much called for." He hissed as he walked back and forth, treading on the broken glass that still covered the floor. "Did you get what you needed from your house?" He asked and I instantly snapped my mouth shut.

"I-I'm not leaving." I murmured under my breath.

His eyes narrowed, "Why? Don't you want to come away with me anymore?"

"I do. It's my family. I just can't leave them, not right now." I replied before crossing the room to stand in front of him. Completely forgetting what I had just witnessed as I took his hand in mine and smiled up at him. "I still want you to show me the world but I have to fix things here first."

"There's no other reason?" He asked with a frown. Clearly something else was playing on his mind.

I smiled, "No. Caroline just made me realise that things aren't as broken as I thought. That there's still a chance for me to fix the relationships that have been frayed."

"I'll admit," He smiled as he brushed his fingers through my hair, "I'm disappointed that you won't be with me but If that's what you want to do, then I won't hold you back."

I smirked, "You're not even going to fight for me?" I joked and he grinned widely. "Ahh!" I squealed as Klaus grasped me by the thighs and lifted me onto his waist. I curled my legs around his back, holding him close as he whooshed up the stairs into his room.

Once inside, he dropped me onto the bed as I laughed loudly.

Klaus hovered over my body before he grinned and placed a kiss on my forehead. Then my cheek and then my lips, grinning the whole time like a child in the candy store.

"Are you sure you can't stay a while longer?" I asked in a breathless voice.

"I'm afraid not." He said with a tilt of his head and a raised brow.

"Of course." I grinned, "You've had enough of this place and its occupants."

"Not all of its occupants." Klaus corrected.

"Even though I'm still pissed at you, I'll miss you when you're gone." I sighed and placed my hands on either side of his face. "I'll miss your eyes, your smile." I said as I ran my fingers across his lips before lifting my head to place a kiss on his rose-coloured lips. Klaus gladly reciprocated my movement and pulled me in closer to his body. His hand moved from my arm and made its way down the side of my body, stopping just shy of my waistband before then travelling down to my knee, lifting it up causing a moan to escape from my ragged breath.

I felt him grin as his lips left my own and moved to my jawline, placing gentle but hungry kisses along the bone. His hand moved from my thigh and traced the bottom of my blouse, gently nudging it up to bear the skin underneath. A jolt shot through my body as he touched the now healed wound area.

"Are you alright, love?" He asked as he backed away.

"Y-yeah," I replied breathlessly. "I just haven't fully heeld since the accident. I think I'm still weak. "

Klaus instantly lowered the hem of my shirt and moved to the side of me before biting into his wrist, creating an opening in the flesh. "Come here." He ordered as he held his wrist out. "Feed."

I nodded my head and sat beside him on the bed. His scent was already all I could smell and all that I wanted as I bit into his wrist. The warm blood coated my tongue as it travelled down my throat. My eyes slowly closed in pleasure as I fed from his wrist.

Was it because he was a hybrid?

Once a few moments had passed, I retracted my teeth and swept my tongue over my lips before looking back at him. Klaus smiled as he ran his thumb over my bottom lip, clearing the remaining blood before placing it into his mouth.

"What a way to kill the mood." I laughed lightly.

"We could always pick up where we left off?" He grinned. His white teeth gleamed in the dim-lit room.

Now that my hunger had subsided, all I wanted to do was relax.

"You should get some rest." He said as he pushed himself off the bed.

"Wait." I gasped and reached out to catch his wrist. "This is your room."

"You can sleep here." He said softly as he held my hand.

"I want to sleep with you." I said and only realised how it sounded once the words left my mouth.

Klaus grinned playfully, "Well, I thought I offered you already."

"Shut up," I laughed as I blushed immensely, "You know what I mean." He remained with the grin on his face as his brows raised in speculation. "Forget I said anything." I groaned and collapsed backwards onto the bed.

"I would very much like to 'sleep' with you." Klaus laughed as he played with the words I said previously.

"No funny business." I narrowed my eyes as I got to my feet.

He held his hands in the air in submission. "Promise." As I walked towards the door, Klaus' voice turned me around. "Where are you going?" He wondered.

"Well, I'm not sleeping in these." I said as I gestured to my shirt and scuffed jeans.

He nodded his head before reaching into one of the unzipped cases on the floor and retrieved a shirt.

"Wear this." Klaus said as he tossed one of his pressed shirts in my direction.

I caught it and smiled at him, "My rooms down the hall." I said, even though he knew exactly where it was. Klaus just shrugged which caused me to laugh. "Fine." I caved and walked over to the bathroom as he removed the case from his bed onto the floor. Once inside the bathroom, I closed the door with a gentle 'click' before stripping from my clothes and placing them into a hamper. I looked at the black shirt Klaus had given me to wear. Even though it was freshly washed and pressed, his scent still lingered on the fabric.

As I pulled on the shirt which stopped just shy of my knees, I washed my face and pulled my hair back over my shoulders. Taking a deep breath, I opened the door confidently and walked into the room, switching the light off before facing the large bed. Klaus sat on the end of the bed facing the bathroom door, waiting. I smiled as I noticed that he had also changed. He was now modelling a white tank-top with a pair of loose, black sweatpants.

I fumbled with the hem of the shirt as I walked further into the room, unsure of what and where to go.

"Shall we sleep?" Klaus teased once more.

I rolled my eyes, "You're not funny."

"I disagree." He frowned and got to his feet.

Klaus held out his hand and I graciously took it as he led me round to the side of the bed closest to the window. He removed the decorative pillows and drew back the sheets for me to get in. Once inside the bed and under the sheets, I watched as he rounded the bed and did the exact same thing on the opposite side.

As Klaus crawled under the sheets, he stopped them at his waist and rested his right arm behind his head as a cushion to lean on. I scooted closer to him, pulling the sheets up to my chest as I lay my head on his chest with my arm resting on his stomach. I smiled as I felt his arm snake around my back, holding me closer as his lips brushed over my temple. His fingers drew random shapes on my back as we talked softly before we drifted off to sleep in each others arms.
