Hello to all! This is Episode 25 of the mini arc of Volume 5: Black Arms and a Promise Remembered!
Intro: The Earth... is a great place where humanity and all other creatures live and learn to evolve little by little, but this great world has Darkness in it too. Evil beings who wish to conquer this world and everyone.
Only one being stood against them to show everyone the power of light and hope, but this great mythical dragon wasn't able to stop them. He gave his powers and hope to a human that was known by his name, the Dragon Knight!
Before this hero also met his end, he gave the legendary Dragon Sword and his hopes and dreams to the next knight, to his youngest son who is destined to become a legend by the sides of his comrades and his love. This hero... is the Dragon Knight!

Volume 5: Episode 25: The Dangerous Cubics! The 3-Sided Conflict!
In the previous episode of DKR:
Arriving in the world of Mobius, Team Dragon Knight arrived in Sonic and friends' world. Seeing the seemingly empty Mobotropolis, Yugi and the others are met with the Freedom Fighters led by Princess Sally Acorn. Told about a few things, our heroes are under attack by the Black Arms taking over the city and no doubt the rest of the planet.
Team Dragon Knight and the Freedom Fighters engaged the alien monsters doing better than the first wave however the Black Arms revealed their larger numbers. Yugi prepared to join in the fight until he was stopped by Shadow who was not acting like himself. Yugi followed him with Jonouchi right behind him.
Will Yugi be able to reach Shadow?
What will happen next?

Still fighting, Team Dragon Knight and the Freedom Fighters continue suppressing the invading Black Arms.
The Freedom Fighters who haven't seen Team Dragon Knight fight before were really impressed how powerful these humans were.
"So these guys are the invaders right?'' Kurosaki questions kinda expecting them to be more threatening like Hollows or the Espada. Heck even Soul Society were not pushovers. He's not even using Bankai, at all.
Naruto wipes his hands smiling as he declares. ''I was scared for nothing!''
Ed sweat drops gazing at him and questions. ''You were scared?''
''BAD GUYS FROM SPACE YA KNOW! They're almost as scary as ghosts!'' Naruto yells out terrified with Sailor Moon nodding in agreement. Danny sweat drops really wishing to correct them but it would only make things worse.
Antoine gives a look at Sonic at how or when he found these people while Rotor smiles liking these humans.
Ruby sweat drops, eyeing everyone… and soon notices two people of their group are missing.
''Um guys…'' She begins to alarm the group but then gets interrupted by Alicia resuming that past talk about the Black Arms. ''I mean for bad guys they aren't smart.''
''I'm happy they're not!'' Ed protests as then he would feel bad for them.
''Guys.'' Ruby calls out to the group getting Ryan's attention but again she's interrupted by Ed asking both Rotor and Tails. ''You two experimented on them?''
The two nod with Rotor explaining in better detail. ''Just their technology since Tails and the others had well a problem when they tried the Black Arms the first time.''
Edward blinks pretty amazed. Judai hums, pulling out Neos, wondering if he and the other Neo-Spacians confronted those Black Arms too before.
''I wonder if Neos knows more about-'' He begins to question but gets immediately cut off by Ruby yelling out. ''GUYS!''
Everyone blinks, turning their sight towards the black-red headed girl. Ruby blinks awkwardly not expecting that would work with Ryan telling her smiling. ''I think you got their attention.''
She blushes admitting it.
''What is it, Red Riding Hood?'' Ed asks, annoyed with Danny eyeing him, surprised he knows the reference. Ed knew that story; his mother used to tell the story to himself and Al.
Ruby coughs calmly and asks everyone concerned. ''So um where are Yugi and Jonouchi?''
''…'' The groups blink looking among each other and do notice a lack of Yugi or Jonouchi. Sonic even dashes across each person to confirm his surprise. ''Huh? Red Riding Hood was right.''
''Likely your friends gotten themselves lost.'' Antoine hypothesizes since the Black Arms were nearly everywhere. Sonic doubts it since Yugi isn't the type to get lost, per say.
''Guess we should-'' Kurosaki begins to say that they should look for them but before he could finish his sentence, the whole area shakes. This alarms everyone as the sky rips open and more Black Arms ships descend before them.
Sailor Moon groans unease with the others not liking this one bit. The ships unleash their tractor beams as more Black Arms foot soldiers descend, double the size from previously.
''Guess we have to continue dealing with these guys first.'' Knuckles proclaim gripping his knuckle hands tightly for more actions.
Ruby sighs really worried about Yugi and Jonouchi but they're boys, they should be okay. She breathes as she twirls her blaster into the Crescent Rose's scythe mode. The others of the Freedom Fighters were surprised by this as she declares serious. ''Let's put them quick okay.''
The others of Team Dragon Knight nod, joining beside her.
''Learning huh Ruby?'' Alicia comments with a small smile at their new friend.
Ruby frowns thinking how Ichigo did her hardest to protect her fellow Mew Mews and protect the ones she loves to only get beaten down by that Mew Blackberry. If she wants to be a true Huntress, she needs to be strong to make sure that even her friends don't hurt, ever.
''I learn really fast!'' Ruby just says as she comes charging and the others follow her lead right at the army. She can only hope they can settle this fast.
Yugi runs across outside the kingdom, looking for Shadow but it seems that he lost him. He pants focusing on his Aura but could not detect him. He groans looking around him and nothing.
"Shadow-kun…'' The tricolor head mutters upset, not sure what had happened to him. But Yugi did know one thing; Shadow didn't feel like himself. It was like he's on autopilot, almost not himself at all.
''YUGI!'' Yugi startles turning to see Jonouchi emerging out of the bushes, panting heavily by the weight of the egg he's carrying on his back. Why was it so heavy?
Yugi sighs smiling and tells him. ''Sorry, I lost him.''
Jonouchi nods, breathing as he puts his hands on his lap, speaking up exhausted. ''S-saw him… Wonder what happen… to hedgehog emo to well… you know.''
Yugi frowns, not sure whether he is just confirming to him. ''He didn't felt like himself.''
''Or he's finally acting like the Black Arms he should be.'' Yugi and Jonouchi startle turning as Aigami lands in front of them, smirking. This shocks both of them.
''Aigami-kun.'' Yugi declares firmly with Jonouchi complaining loudly. ''NOT THIS GUY AGAIN!''
Aigami stands up straight and simply speaks directly to Yugi. ''It's been a while Yugi.''
Yugi glares calmly, not surprised Aigami was behind all of this with Shadow. Something told him if not the Dark Lord taunting him or Aizen challenging him, it would be Aigami's doing.
''Why don't you leave us alone already?'' Jonouchi demands angrily, not able to stand this jerk. Aigami forms a small smirk, ignoring half-half before replying, still staring at Yugi. ''I plan to after Yugi joins me, like his friend.''
Yugi stares quietly back at him, now getting the bigger picture. He then questions him calmly but seriously. ''So you're behind Shadow-kun's change.''
Aigami smirks at Yugi's remark and responds carefree. ''I simply help him realize what he was fighting for was false much like our world.''
The tricolor head tries to make a calm face, squeezing his right hand tightly and shaking madly. He breathes trying to relax before speaking up. ''… I won't let you get away toying with his life and those who care for Shadow-kun.''
Aigami smirks again, oddly wanting to see him angry however Yugi instead says. ''But I also don't have time for you. I have a friend to help.''
He immediately walks past Aigami to his confusion as well as Jonouchi sweat dropping. He just whistles catching up to Yugi's side. Aigami turns slightly, not expecting that but nonetheless this still works for him.
''I think not.'' He states as the Quantum Cube manifests and their surroundings are wrapped within the orange cube materializing world with the red swirling sky. Yugi stops turning with an annoyed expression at Aigami while Jonouchi starts panicking, already having flashbacks of his time here.
''NOT AGAIN!'' He yells out, really hating this place. Aigami chuckles as he proclaims. ''Do not worry, yet. We are now in a Dimension Duel; you both have no choice to escape here unless you beat me. If you don't, you two shall be trapped and erased within this world.''
Yugi glares figuring as much. He pulls out his Duel Disk and slides it on, asking his friend for his help. ''Jonouchi-kun, you still got my back?''
Jonouchi eyes him and just smiles, not able to say no even in a dangerous situation. Besides, it's their only way out of here anyway.
''Always Yugi! Let's kick his butt together!'' Jonouchi declares flexing his right arm as he slides on his own Duel Disk.
Aigami snickers at their ''friendship'', taunting it. ''The victim and the bully; how bizarre your friendship is.''
Jonouchi immediately snaps about running at him but Yugi stops him, lifting his eyes glaring at Aigami. He slides on his headset, his purple eyes glowing passionate.
''Our friendship…'' The tricolor head begins to say recalling all the bad times when Jonouchi bullied him… but also all the good times when they became best friends. If not for him, he wouldn't be as reckless or brave. Yugi smirks, declaring proudly. ''Is more than you could ever understand, Aigami-kun!''
Jonouchi didn't say a word and just smiled and nodded. Aigami frowns as the Quantum Cube morphs into his Duel Disk.
Yugi and Jonouchi face Aigami together as they draw their top 5 cards and shout, activating their Duel Disks. ''Duel!''
Duel Screen: Yugi Mutou: 8000LP & Jonouchi Katsuya: 8000LP vs. Aigami: 8000LP
Jonouchi tries to be relaxed though he's very much aware how dangerous these Dimension Duels are. He's seen two of them already and he can only hope he doesn't slow Yugi down.
''I will start first.'' Aigami decides with Jonouchi immediately protesting angrily. ''Like hell!''
Yugi thinks about it and makes his choice, advising his friend. ''Let him start first Jonouchi-kun.''
Jonouchi groans not liking it but nods.
''Thank you.'' Aigami thanks him sinisterly but Yugi just stares firmly.

''My turn. I draw!'' Aigami declares drawing his top card. He eyes his hand and smirks, grabbing a card.
''I set 1 card face down. Turn end.'' He proclaims setting a face-down card, materializing on his field as he ends his turn.
Jonouchi blinks, very puzzled, questioning it. ''That's it?''
''Afraid?'' Aigami questions with a smirk. Jonouchi glares madder far from that. Yugi watches calmly as he isn't surprised in the slightest.

''My turn! Draw!'' The darkened blond headed duelist shouts drawing his top card. He looks at his options as Yugi informs him about the dangers of a Dimension Duel. ''Remember Jonouchi-kun, in this Dimension Duel we take no battle damage but instead we take damage equal to the ATK or DEF we take the damage. Plus you can summon almost any monster from your hand but their stats depend on your Spirit Energy.''
Jonouchi nods, responding from what he saw before. ''Yea, I saw it with my own eyes when Kaiba dueled this guy. But I still got this though!''
Yugi smiles a bit, trusting him. Jonouchi smirks as he begins his turn summoning a monster from his hand. ''I summon Marauding Captain!''
Materializing on his field is the twin sword wielding swordsman.
''HAAA!'' Jonouchi then shouts gathering up energy across his body as Marauding Captain's ATK raises.
Marauding Captain Lvl 3 ATK: 1200 DEF: 0 (originally 400)
This shocked Aigami as he knows better than any no mere duelist could just gather Spirit Energy none the less raise it up in such a way.
''What? You too?'' He questions awed by this nonsense. Jonouchi snickers rubbing underneath his nose, answering. ''As long as I don't force myself, I can give it my all on a stat!''
Yugi smiles as it's just like Jonouchi to pull something off so well. Jonouchi then adds using his warrior's effect. ''Marauding Captain's effect lets me Special Summon a Level 4 or lower monster from my hand.''
He grabs a card from his hand and calls forth summoning it. ''Let's go Command Knight!''
Appearing is the fiery command-like warrior.
Command Knight Lvl 4 ATK: 1200 DEF: 0 (originally 1900)
''Command Knight increases the ATK of my Warrior Monsters by 400!'' Jonouchi explains with a smirk as both his warriors shot up to 1600 ATK. He then commands, raising his arm at Aigami. ''Battle! Command Knight, attack him directly!''
Command Knight comes charging at the enemy with his sword erupting in flames. Aigami smirks as he shouts, triggering his set card. ''I activate my set Trap, Cubic Ascension!''
His set card flips open and glows in a purple-like aura.
''When my opponent declares a direct attack, I can Special Summon Vijam the Cubic Seed from my deck.'' Aigami declares that appearing out of cube-like blocks is the seed-like demonic one eyed Cubic monster.
Vijam the Cubic Seed Lvl 1 ATK: 0 DEF: 0
''Then I won't-'' Jonouchi tries to protest by not attacking but Aigami interrupts with a smug smirk. ''My trap redirects your attack to my Cubic Seed.''
The darkened blond headed groans as his monster is forced to attack the seed which withstands the sword strike.
''Vijam cannot be destroyed and then your monster gains a Cubic Counter, both its effects are negated and it cannot attack.'' Aigami reveals as the Cubic Seed infects Command Knight with orange cubes infecting the knight. The cubes act like a virus and rust as its ATK drops with its effect suppressed.

''Next Vijam becomes a Spell and Trap Card as a Continuous Spell.'' Aigami then explains as Vijam leaves and becomes its Monster Card form on Aigami's Spell and Trap Card Zone. Jonouchi glares since he can still attack with his monster. However…
Aigami smirks, revealing a card from his hand declaring. ''Since I control no monsters, I can activate this card from my hand!''
Yugi glares calmly, expecting as much. Aigami then slides a card into his Field Card Zone calling forth. ''Open up my desired world! Field Spell, Cubic Plateau!''
The arena suddenly changes into a palace-like temple with Hindu designs, but it is glowing purple/orange as everything is formed out of Cubic Counter cubes.
''Upon activation, I can Special Summon another Vijam the Cubic Seed and skip your Battle Phase your Main Phase 2!'' Aigami explains as he summons a second Cubic Seed.

''Damn…'' Jonouchi mutters upset, not able to do anything else. He grabs a card and shouts setting it. ''I set a card face down. Turn end.''
A face-down card appears on his field as he finishes his turn. Jonouchi sighs, eyeing Yugi and asks him. ''Yugi, you got this?''

Yugi smiles at him replying. ''Leave it to me.''
Placing his hand over his deck, he shouts drawing his top card. ''My turn!''
He draws eyeing the card and plays it. ''I activate the spell, Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards and then I discard 2 cards.''
Yugi draws and discards as he then reveals a monster and summons it. ''Since I control no monsters, I can Special Summon Lord Gaia the Fierce Knight!''
Appearing onto his field is Lord Gaia as Yugi barely tries as his Spirit Energy maximizes his monster's stats.

''Dimension Summon!'' Yugi then shouts holding up another monster card and summons it. ''Appear, Dark Magician!''
Emerging onto his field is Dark Magician, twirling and swinging his magical staff.
Dark Magician Lvl 7 ATK: 2500 DEF: 2100
Jonouchi grins excitedly that Yugi summons his ace. Aigami also smirks stating it. ''Oh? Dark Magician already?''
''I'm not done as I activate the spell, Bond between Teacher and Student!'' Yugi proceeds to play another spell from his hand. ''With this I can Special Summon Dark Magician Girl from my hand, Deck or Graveyard while I control.''
Materializing in magic beside Dark Magician is the adorable Dark Magician Girl, winking as she floats in midair.
Dark Magician Girl Lvl 6 ATK: 2000 DEF: 1700
''Next I set 1 of 4 cards from my Deck face-down on my field!'' Yugi then adds, searching his deck and setting a card onto his field. From there he activates it smiling. ''Next I activate the card I set, Dark Magic Twin Burst! Now Dark Magician gains ATK equal to the ATK of all Dark Magician Girls I control!''
Dark Magician shoots up to 4500 ATK.
''Battle!'' Yugi announces as Dark Magician Girl twirls her rod at Vijam. ''Dark Magician Girl, attack Vijam! Dark Burning!''
The apprentice magician gathers a pink orb of magical electrical-like energy with black sparks and throws it at the Cubic Seed, hitting on impact. Aigami smirks at this and declares. ''Once more Vijam's effect!''
Vijam vanishes off the Monster Zone as it infects Dark Magician Girl, grunting as she coughs heavily.

''But now you have no monsters left.'' Yugi then points out as he then orders. ''Dark Magician, attack Aigami-kun directly!''
Dark Magician and even the infected Dark Magician Girl fly over Aigami. Both magicians cross their staffs as swirls of pink and purple energy along with black sparks surround them.
''Dark Magic Twin Burst!'' Yugi shouts along with his magicians, unleashing their combined attack right upon Aigami. He only watches bracing the attack on impact and screams. ''GAAAW!''
The magical blast explodes as Aigami is pushed back with heavy scratches, his Life Points dropped to 3500.
''Lord Gaia, attack directly!'' Yugi then commands as Lord Gaia flies right towards Aigami, thrusting his twin lances at him. ''Lord Spiral Shaver!''
Jonouchi smiles as that will do at least some big damage… until he notices the small smirk on Aigami's face. He then recalls what happened to Kaiba and immediately panics warning Yugi. ''Oh wait Yugi!''
It was too late as Aigami declares. ''I banish Cubic Ascension to activate its effect!''
Yugi blinks as Aigami reveals smirking. ''If your Life Points are 2000LP higher than mines, I can Special Summon another Vijam the Cubic Seed from my Deck, hand or Graveyard!''
Soon appears the third Vijam on Aigami's field, postponing Lord Gaia's attack.

Aigami chuckles softly as he can now wait for Yugi to end his turn. Yugi stares calmly before he smirks and resumes his attack. ''Lord Gaia, resume your attack!''
Jonouchi staggers with Aigami smirks, rather disappointed as he announces. ''Naïve. I use Vijam's effect.''
Lord Gaia strikes the Cubic Seed as it becomes a Continuous Spell too and infects the knight with its cubes.

Aigami snickers as he soon questions the so-called Duel King's strategy. ''I don't get the point of your little attempt.''
Yugi, however, smiles holding up a card in his hand before playing it, declaring. ''Let me show you. I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Dark Burning Magic!''
Aigami widens his eyes slightly as Yugi explains as both magicians cross their staffs again. ''Since I control both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl, I destroy all cards you control.''
''Cubic Plateau can't be destroyed nor my Cubic monsters.'' Aigami reminds him that that attempt is pointless however Yugi agrees with a smirk. ''Exactly.''
Aigami slowly widens his eyes realizing it. The magicians unleash another combination magical blast, not able to destroy Cubic Plateau but did destroy the Cubic Seeds.
Jonouchi then gets it as those monsters became a Continuous Spell, not a monster so Yugi had his chance to get rid of all the Cubic Seeds.
''You got rid of my Cubic Seeds then?'' Aigami questions with a glare. Yugi sniggers, replying with a wink. ''That's the plan.''
He eyes his remaining options proclaiming. ''I set a card face down. I end my turn.''
A face-down card materializes behind his monsters, finishing his turn.
Duel Screen: Turn 4_ Yugi: 8000LP H: 1 / Jonouchi: 8000LP H: 3 / Aigami: 3500LP H: 4
Aigami brushes off the damage he took as he declares. ''Now my turn again.''
He draws his top card and smirks as he then plays it. ''I begin by activating the Spell, Cubic Greed! I draw a card for each Cubic Counter on the field.''
He draws 3 cards smirking. He then plays a new card from his hand. ''Now I activate the spell, Cubic Reincarnation!''
The card materializes showing the image of Crimson Nova the Dark Cubic Lord's destroyed body as its cube head is becoming Vijam the Cubic Seed.
Aigami then explains his new card's effect. ''By removing a number of Cubic Counters on the field, I can add up a Cubic monster from my Graveyard back to my hand however if I pick add 3 or more I can Special Summon them instead and if they all have the same name, I can add a Cubic card from my Deck to my hand.''
Jonouchi does the math and panics, yelling out. ''Damn, there are 3 of those counters!''
''Exactly. Now return, Vijams!'' Aigami informs as he brings back all of his Cubic Seeds to the field.
Vijam the Cubic Seed x3 Lvl 1 ATK: 0 DEF: 0
Aigami then adds a card from his deck to his hand and smirks, declaring. ''I release my three Cubic Seeds!''
The three Cubic Seeds begin deconstructing into cubes and reforming among each other.
''Destroy everything, Indiora Doom Volt the Cubic Emperor!'' Aigami calls forth as the seeds become the dangerous beastly Cubic Emperor.

''Now I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Cubic Split!'' Aigami then proclaims playing another new spell from his hand. It shows the image of Duza the Meteor Cubic Vessel's body split to become both Blade Garoodia the Cubic Beast and Vulcan Dragni the Cubic King.
''By sending a Cubic monster from my Deck, I can Special Summon a Cubic monster from my hand, ignoring its summoning conditions.'' Aigami explains with a smug smirk. He sends Duza the Meteor Cubic Vessel as Indiora's body leaks out cubes as they slowly become something else.
''Become the instrument of my wishes! Appear, Buster Gundil the Cubic Behemoth!'' Aigami calls forth as the cubes transform into Buster Gundil.
Buster Gundil the Cubic Behemoth Lvl 4 ATK: 0 DEF: 0
Yugi is startled by this with Jonouchi complaining in protest. ''2 of those things?!''
Aigami chuckles as he explains. "Buster Gundil gains 3000ATK and Indiora Doom Volt gains 2400 ATK. Plus Indiora inflicts 800 of damage to my opponents!''
As both Cubic monsters gain their ATKs, Indiora unleashes an electrical blast at both duelists. Both Yugi and Jonouchi gasp out loudly taking the 800 of damage. The darkened blond headed grunts, now getting why these Dimension Duels are dangerous; the damage is real like a Duel of Darkness.
''Battle. Buster Gundil can make a second and third attack. Now attack Dark Magician!'' Aigami commands still smirking as Buster Gundil gathers energy from one of its pillars.
Yugi quickly reacts, reaching to the Graveyard slot of his Duel Disk as it glows and a card pops out.
''I banish Electromagnet Turtle to use its effect, ending the Battle Phase.'' The tricolor head shouts as the green electro machine turtle materializes and starts spinning rapidly, unleashing an electrical current around himself and Jonouchi.
Jonouchi flexes his right arm while making a manly face.
Aigami scoffs smirking as he figures as much. His Battle Phase ends as he then proceeds playing a card from his hand. ''I activate the Continuous Spell, Cubic Denial!''
A new card materializes showing the image of Cubic Counters gathering to form a large gate. Aigami then grabs the last two cards in his hands, announcing. ''I set 2 cards face down.''
Said cards materialize on the field face-down. Aigami finally says finishing his turn extremely confident. ''My turn is done and soon it will be the end for you two.''
Yugi stares calmly while Jonouchi groans. They need to beat this guy now or else.
Will the two be able to turn the tide against Aigami before things become worse?
Commercial Break:
Ruby: I got to find Yugi and Jonouchi. I can't failed them.
Jonouchi: I screwed up plenty times in my life but being Yugi's friends is something I will protect and cherish! I'm going to pulverized you!
Trying to reach where Shadow was last seen, Rouge and Omega were sadly surrounded by Black Arms. The two engage them with Rouge drilling her kicks at them with Omega blasting with his arm guns.
"Great, more Black Arms.'' Rouge states as she stomps her boot onto the face of the Black Warrior she defeated, destroying it completely.
''Affirmative.'' Omega confirms firing multiple rockets and laser beams at the multiple Black Arms, destroying them all. ''Simple pest control.''
Rouge smirks though she slowly frowns, worried for Shadow.
''Shadow, where are you?'' She asks herself mentally, hoping he is okay.
The duel continues with Yugi thinking of his options. They have to deal with Aigami's second best Cubic monsters. Still his biggest concern is Shadow, sensing his aura and doing things against his well being. Yugi can't hear Atem advising him to not worry but he knows his partner better than anyone. He needs to remain calm and win this.
Jonouchi growls mad at this guy, not going to let him get away with this.
''Like hell we'll lose to you!'' Jonouchi barks seriously, refusing to let this go on.

''My turn, draw!'' Jonouchi shouts while drawing his top card. He smirks playing the card he just drew. ''I activate the spell, Pot of Greed! I draw 2 cards!''
He draws two more cards and chuckles, getting the perfect cards for a big turnaround. He proceeds to play one of the two cards. ''I activate the spell, Polymerization! I fuse the Earth Attribute Marauding Captain and the Fire Attribute Command Knight!''
Both warriors merge within the fusion portal as Jonouchi calls forth. ''Fusion Summon! Gilti-Gearfried the Magical Steel Knight!''
Emerging out of their place is the powerful Magical Steel Knight, twirling his double-ended axe-like sword weapon.

Jonouchi eyes his other option and then asks his partner. ''Yugi, mind if I borrow Lord Gaia?''
Yugi just smiles having a pretty good idea Jonouchi has a plan and agrees. ''Go for it!''
''Yosh! I summon Hermos, Legendary Dragon of Burning Passion!'' Getting excited by his response, Jonouchi immediately summons his Legendary Dragon onto the field. Hermos roars loudly.

Aigami watches annoyed to see those Legendary Dragons he's observed.
''I use Hermos' effect to fuse itself with Lord Gaia the Fierce Knight!'' Jonouchi announces as Hermos fuses itself with Yugi's Gaia monster, becoming one. ''Fusion Summon! Gaia Hermos Spear!''
Appearing is a new lance with colors that resembles Gaia the Fierce Knight with dragon winged ends.
Gaia Hermos Spear Lvl 7 ATK: 2300 DEF: 0 (originally 2100)
''With this new weapon, I equip it to Gilti-Gearfried!'' Jonouchi then announces as the lance flies to Gilti-Gearfried who discards his main weapon and grabs on the lance, tightening his grip on the new weapon. He then adds playing another card from his hand. ''Next I equip Gilti-Gearfried with the Equip Spell, Aqua Blade! With it, he gains 300 ATK!''
A water bladed-like sword manifests as the Magical Steel Knight grabs it with his other hand. Gilti-Gearfried shoots up to 3000 ATK.
''Time I smack you into oblivion! Battle-'' Jonouchi begins to declare but Aigami was a step ahead proclaiming. ''I activate the Continuous Trap Card, Cubic Parallel!''
His set card activates showing the image of Cubic Counters forming into creating a row that parallels with oneself almost like parallel-like towers. Aigami smirks and explains. ''At the start of my opponent's Battle Phase, I can place a Cubic Counter on a monster my opponent control if they don't have it.''
Jonouchi startles as the trap releases and attaches Cubic Counters across Gilti-Gearfried, infecting the warrior.

Yugi stares worry but this time Jonouchi chuckles declaring. ''That ain't happening! Gaia Hermos Spear grants the monster equip to it unaffected by card effects!''
This surprises Aigami as the lance nullifies the counters on Gilti-Gearfried, granting the warrior immunity.
''Plus when it battles, it can also halve the ATK and DEF of the battling monster.'' Jonouchi then adds about his fusion weapon before making his attack. ''Now eat this! Attack his big tower!''
However, something wrong as Gilti-Gearfried could not move an inch for a strange reason.
''What the heck?! I can't attack?'' Jonouchi questions in shock until Aigami begins to laugh slightly. The two stare at him as Aigami reveals smirking. ''Cubic Denial prevents monsters my opponent controls from attacking as long as there are Cubic Counters in the field.''
Jonouchi sweats paralyzed in worry, immediately protesting upsetly. ''How the hell is that fair?''
Aigami chuckles at his silly question and tells him. ''You have nothing to be concerned about. If a Cubic monster is destroyed, then Cubic Denial is also destroyed but that won't happen.''
Jonouchi starts getting mad now regretting not using Gilti-Gearfried's effect to negate Aqua Blade to pop a card on his field. Though, maybe they still got a chance since Aqua Blade wasn't negated.
''… Turn end.'' The darkened blond headed finishes his turn.

Yugi eyes his friend before encouraging him strongly. ''Leave it to me Jonouchi-kun.''
Jonouchi nods, not able to do much but Yugi will.
''My turn!'' Yugi declares drawing his top card. He eyes his card and smiles playing it. ''I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Dark Magic Inheritance! I banish 2 Spell Cards from my Graveyard to add a Spell or Trap from my deck that lists Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl to my hand.''
He banishes the two spells he used last turn and adds a spell he wanted. He then plays said card. ''Next I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Soul Servant! I place a card from the top of my Deck that lists both my magicians on top of my Deck.''
He searches through his deck and sets a card to the top of his deck. Yugi then announces banishing the spell he just added. ''Next I can banish Soul Servant to draw a card for each Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl or Palladium monsters with different names on my field or Graveyard.''
He draws 2 cards as Yugi eyes one of the cards he drew and smiles.
''Let's do it. I summon Timaeus, Legendary Dragon of Hope!'' Yugi declares that appearing upon his field is his Legendary Dragon. Timaeus roars, flapping his wings.

''I use Timaeus, Legendary Dragon of Hope's effect!'' The tricolor head proclaims as Timaeus and Dark Magician Girl take flight. ''I fuse my dragon with Dark Magician Girl!''
Both monsters begin to fuse together with Yugi calling forth. ''Fusion Summon! Come out, Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight!''
Dark Magician Girl's outfit is stripped as she covers herself blushing or embarrassed as she soon gains a two piece revealing knight's armor and a magical sword as she rides on Timaeus' back.

''NICE!'' Jonouchi yells out smirking. Yugi proceeds smiling by sending a card from his hand. ''I discard a card to activate-''
But before he could use Dark Magician Girl's effect, Aigami was a step ahead declaring with a soft grin. ''I was hoping you would try to get rid of my monster or avoid my card. I chain and activate the trap, Cubic Causality!''
Yugi staggers as Aigami's trap flips over and spreads its power upon the field.
''I now spread a number of Cubic Counters up to the number of Cubic monsters I control.'' Aigami explains as he points at both of Yugi's monsters. ''Both your magicians are now under my mercy.''
The trap releases an orange shockwave that struck both of Yugi's monsters, infecting them with Cubic Counters.

Yugi stares, irritated not only losing a card but now he can't do anything else.
''There is nothing you can do but die… unless…'' Aigami begins monologuing his victory but not before raising his hand to the tricolor head, pleading with him once more like he did the last they dueled. "Yugi, help me end this current life and create our plateau.''
Yugi stares silently with Jonouchi worrying. They might not save Shadow if they continue wasting time here.
Dashing through the forest, the Jackal Squad is on the hunt for Shadow as one of the members caught the hedgehog's scent from a piece of his fur collected long ago.
''We caught a scent sir!'' He announces to their leader. Zero nods as they lead him. He thinks back how ironic, a bunch of thieving mercenaries, would be a scouting/assault/capture team under the Acorn Kingdom. It happened one day as they had stolen a huge shipment but it was a setup that got them trapped but in reality Princess Sally merely wished to speak to them and offer them a better life.
''Princess Sally gave us a chance to be useful when we were simply being the hire jackals to take over the hole Eggman left.'' Zero begins telling himself, recalling how he and his fellow Jackals were orphans, struggling to survive and decided to be thieves. They started small but got bigger and stronger through their training, skills and teamwork. They were even able to take over what remained of Eggman's old empire when he left… well till the princess approaches them of course.
Sally offered them to help her kingdom and in return she will help them in anything they will need or want. Zero could say no… but he knew better that his own squad could even oppose the large forces of Mobius alone. Ever since they agreed on those terms, Zero and his squad were treated almost like that special scout force for the kingdom. It felt strange at first but the jackals embraced their surroundings and still had their way to do what they do best, show off their unstoppable formation.
Soon Zero spots ahead a black hedgehog alone in the forest.
''There he is! Formation capture! Engage!'' Zero orders his men as they howl and dash around the seemingly Shadow, surrounding him on all corners.
Shadow, his appearance all the same minus his empty red eyes, didn't look around him as Zero declares in a taunting smirk. ''So you are the black hedgehog?''
''…'' Shadow did not just bother saying a word but also not acknowledging any of them with a glare or look, just looking as if he's staring at space. The jackals all raise an eyebrow, not expecting or ever getting this kind of treatment with a target before.
''Boss, this guy is more stone cold than you.'' One of the Jackals speaks up. Zero hums noticing something is off with this guy. Maybe the princess' warning that this hedgehog was not himself was on the money.
Zero tries to approach him friendly.
''We're not here to kill you or anything. So surrender calmly or we'll-'' He tries speaking to him friendly hoping they could get him back to the kingdom before things become out of hand… sadly they did as Shadow from out of nowhere punches Zero back across the face. The leader Jackal stops himself grinding his shoes on the ground, staggered by the punch. He brushes off the damage and declares smirking. ''Rough it is.''
The Jackals howl all charging at Shadow. They come at him hand-to-hand with claws or kicks but Shadow simply stands his ground as their attacks phase through him to their confusion. They try to attack him again unaware that Shadow is moving so fast that he's evading their attacks without trying.
The Jackals then pull out and each swing their red bladed weapons at the hedgehog who easily blocks and intercepts their blows with his precise punches and kicks while moving faster than them. Zero gets in between and causes Shadow to block a blow as the two seemingly engage one at one with high speed movement, except Shadow who suddenly smacks Zero back with multiple unseen blows.
Zero is pushed back as the other Jackals all pounce at all of his surroundings. Shadow, however, flexes and releases Chaos Blast but the jackals quickly leap just inches away from the radius of the explosion. They manage to distant themselves as the smoke clears up to see Shadow, still with the same expression as before.
''Ultimate Lifeform huh?'' Zero mutters admitting that this guy is no joke but this is nothing for them.
In that moment Zero charges as the other Jackals dash at all 4 corners. Shadow fires a Chaos Spear which Zero cuts through and engages swinging his swords with Shadow evades with ease. He then swings a punch striking Zero but the jackal leader smirks. Shadow doesn't seem to understand until he realizes his punch doesn't connect as his wrist is wrapped by a strange red metal wire.
''Lifeform maybe but we're the ultimate team!'' Zero proclaims and on cue another wire shoots out and wraps around Shadow's other wrist. Two more shoot and wrap around his ankles. Shadow grunts mindless as he tries to release his Chaos powers but couldn't.
Zero smirks as his team were given these special suppressors to be used against Chaos users. Shadow grunts unable to break free.
''You're finished now so stop resisting!'' Zero tells him off. The other Jackals sigh, capturing him…
However things would not be easy as a figure watches from afar, his eerie yellow pupils glowing menacingly.
Team Dragon Knight and the Freedom Fighters engage the Black Arms in the best of their efforts. And as the Jackal Squad has finally cornered the possessed Shadow, Yugi and Jonouchi are in a pinch against Aigami. Will our heroes survive?
