Chapter Forty-four: Fire starter:
part 2
Naru POV
This has to be the longest agonizing twenty-four hours in my life, after I cleaned her up and place her on our bed, she was sweating a lot and shivering. At times she would even cry taking a hold of my hand. I felt horrible because I couldn't do anything at the moment, but just attend to her and watch.
"N...Naru! I miss… you. Wake... me up." she whispers to me. I pressed my forehead against hers trying to enter her mind, but I couldn't, but I sent her a message as best as I could.
"I'm trying, hold on okay. Stay strong be my brave girl." I answered her back, then she goes quiet. I rubbed my forehead against hers.
"You are my brave girl, you can do it, so hold on for me, I'll protect you," I whispered into her ear then gently kiss her forehead. Praying that she can hear me.
The best thing I could do for her is to wipe her and try to keep her hydrated, trying to keep her safe and protected.
Now standing in front of the mirror seeing my reflection, I press my hand on the glass, wanting to get my wife back, since Ayame told me to hold off for a bit, which I didn't like one bit, but it's been too long as it is. If this continues, Mai can die.
"Show me, what is Mai doing. I demand you." My voice is harsher and demanding. At first, nothing happens so I tried again, this time feeling my pk spiking up.
"Don't make me force you out!" I threaten, this time a foggy image began to appear wiping out my reflection as the lady appears looking straight at me with a deep menacing smile on her lips.
"Is that what you desire?" She questions me. I nodded at her.
"Yes, I have every right to see where is my wife at and you need to remember, I'm her guardian as well." I hissed through my teeth. The woman tilts her head to the side.
"Very well then, you may watch and watch well." she reasons and with that, she disappears. Then the image in front of me changes.
I see an old white prison building. The images pass by so fast, that I had to blink rapidly trying to catch up. Then it landed on an old base, which is big and empty with brown old walls.
Inside, I see monitors which are familiar, then my eyes narrow.
Those are my old equipment, I missed them, I have forgotten how they look. We've been on this island for so long already.
Then I watch Mai walk into the base, with Masako. I frowned, moving my hand towards her then glance at her sleepy body. My heart ached to see her like that.
Is this a memory? I don't remember getting a prison, but it looks so real, Mai be my brave girl, I'm here, watching over you, why are you looking like that?
Mai doesn't know it, but she has taught me so much. I want to repay that to her. She taught me, that when you love someone you must stick with them no matter what. I need her by my side. I sound so corny right now or from some manga, or romance book. Hell, at least, I understand what it means to love a woman, and Mai is the only one in my eyes.
I watch as Mai goes up to me, which is strange to look at, to be honest.
I watch myself stand up in front of her, and they started to talk, I couldn't make out what they are saying, but then she moves closer to him and I didn't like that especially taking notice of how my counterpart is looking at my wife. He's looking at her with a deep look, interested and loving. A man in love. It dawns on me as felt myself grow warm.
Do I look at her that way before we became a couple? I never notice, no wonder Lin would tease me back in England.
"Don't care if this is made up or her imagination, but no one is allowed to get close to her." I hissed through my lips, not liking the closeness between them. That deep ugly unfamiliar feeling rushed over my heart and I didn't like it, it's when I thought she was in love with Gene. Maybe this is called jealousy.
I watch as I tour her around the jail, then she stops and slowly turns to see Alac on his horse in ablaze.
"What the hell?" I clenched my hand, but I took notice that my other self was looking straight at the Alack and for a brief second, I felt myself being there, strange. Then I shook my head.
What was that? I shrugged it off as I continue to look getting angrier at the fact that Mai takes a hold of his hand.
She must miss me, I know somewhere she misses me. What can I do? Mai is trapped in that limbo thing. I need to help, can Gene help me? Or Ayame?
I hate this. How can I get my message through, without the lady knowing it?
I hit the mirror with rage since I couldn't take it, fine if she wants to play, I will play her game for now.
"Tell me, what do I have to do? What do you want?" I demand this time not holding back. I revolt back to my old self.
I let every emotion be locked up as my mask automatically came into place. If anyone could see me now, they would be running. The lady appears into the mirror once again and touches the glass.
"Now, this is my Sasuke, I waited for. Go to the waterfalls, and bring me the thing under the boulder, bring me my horse." She orders me. I smirked devilishly at her.
"As you wish, my lady," I hissed under my breath popping myself in front of the boulders and bend down to see the red thread under the boulder.
"I got you and finally, I will get rid of this case, and get my wife back."
Mai Pov
I sat on the chair watching the monitors falling half asleep as the day began to catch up to me. I couldn't shake off what just happened this morning.
"You can lay down at the van, since we are going to camp outside, I'll take over." I heard Ayako say as she slides the chair and sits next to me and rubs my back. I turn to her and leaned my head against the base of her shoulder.
"I think I will take that offer, thank you." I let out a loud yawn stretching my body as I stood up and turned to look around.
"Where's the Lin and Naru?" I question since no one is around.
"With Housho and Ms. Hara left an hour ago since she had to go and film something back in Tokyo. She'll be back tomorrow with John and Yasu." Ayako explained. I nodded at her as I turned to head out.
"Will you be okay going by yourself?" She asks me. I nodded while I wave back at her.
"Yes, I will," I assured her, she gave me a worried look, but we both knew we couldn't just leave the base empty.
"I'll watch you through the cameras, if anything, I'll come and save you," she assures me. I nodded as I bow slightly.
"Thanks," and with that, I turned around to head out, luckily the base is close to the exit, but I felt so much dread as soon as I took a step in the hallway. Rubbing my arms, I began to walk rapidly away from the base heading for the exit door, but I can swear I heard galloping behind me. Freaking out, I began to sprint, feeling my heart beating harder and harder by the second.
Upon reaching the door handle, I pop it open only to gasp when I step outside, I crash against a firm warm chest taking my breath.
"S...Sorry!" I gasped out looking up to see Naru looking down at me with a rose brow up.
"He, he, hi Naru," I said a bit nervously as he adjusts me, but doesn't remove his hand around my waist.
"May I ask why my assistant is doing out of the base?" he asks me. I licked my lips but nodded at him.
"I'm going to take a nap," I told him.
"Nap? Where?" He asks. I pointed behind him,
"The van," I told him. Naru nods as I watch Bou-san and Lin coming back with a few bags of food at hand, my stomach growled at the smell which radiates from the bag which I place my hand on my stomach. Naru takes notice but doesn't mention anything.
"Go, the van is open," Naru said to me causing me to look at him. With that I headed for the van, frowning wishing I can get some food, bad timing to come with it.
Upon reaching the van, I pop the door open from the passenger side and jumped in. I try hard to get comfortable, but I couldn't which stressed me out.
Come on Mai get some sleep, this is ridiculous.
I argued with myself as I bobbed my head down forcing my eyes shut, but nothing for the next five minutes, trying to find a way to sleep, but I couldn't find a way. Then I jump in fright when I heard a small knock on the window of the door. I turn my gaze to see Naru looking at me, my heart jumps with delight to see him. I opened the door and I couldn't help but to smile giving him a grateful look to simply showing up.
"Yes?" I said, Naru lifts his arm to show me a bento on his hand.
"Here, you haven't eaten since you got here," he said as he hands me the bento. I took it feeling touched by this. I bite my lower lip as I slide to the middle of the van and shyly asked him.
"Can… Can you sit next to me?" I asked him. He looks a bit surprised by my request, but doesn't say anything and jumps in the van sitting next to me closing the door at the progress. I was a bit shocked that he did what I asked. I blushed hard as I look down at the small bento on my lap and opened it.
"Why can't you sleep?" he asks me as I popped the lid open and place it to my side while grabbing my chopsticks.
"What makes you say that?" I asked him as I gave thanks for my food and began to chow down. My stomach jumping in pure happiness.
"You're an open book," he said to me. I continue to eat the rice with a side of fish.
"Sometimes you know me better than I do, it's strange, does it bother you if I didn't sleep?"
"Of course," he suddenly said causing me to choke on my food making me cough. Naru moves rapidly and pats my back as he takes out a water bottle from his side, which I didn't see he brought and opens it then hands it over. I took it and began to gulp it down and took a breath of relief to look at Naru.
"You… You do?" I asked him with bewilderment. Naru nods as he continued to pat my back.
"I can't have you affect the case," he simply said. I felt a sweat drop as I closed the bottle of water and pout.
"Aren't you a romantic," I grumbled at him.
"I'm not trying to be, we aren't dating."
"Even if we were, you would find time to be the sweetest man for me, even though you're not a romantic." I pointed out as he arched a brow.
"Is that so?" he asks, I blinked confused why I said that as I look at him feeling my cheeks flaring up feeling almost steam coming out of my ears.
"Err, I don't know where that came from, to be honest," I admit when I took notice that Naru kept rubbing my back.
Why aren't I pushing him out? It feels nice.
"Finish, then sleep." he simply said as he removes his hand from me and crosses his arms.
"You haven't eaten have you," I stated, he shook his head.
"I'm not hungry," he said strictly causing me to squint my eyes at him.
"And I'm a princess of the southern lands." I lifted the bento and picked up my chopsticks and grab some of the food then lift it to him. He looks at it as though it was a foreign item or something arching a brow.
"Say Ah," I told him.
"I'm not a child," he said to me in a monotone voice. I rolled my eyes at him and kept the food close to his mouth so he can eat.
"Trus me, I can tell you're not a child, your body gives it away Naru. Just humor me." I simply told him. He blinks a few times but opens his mouth and I feed him. He moves back and licks his lips while I jump delightfully.
"See not that hard," I said as I continue to eat. He opens the water bottle that I just drank and drinks it. Silently we went, and I continue to share my food with him as he listens to me when I told him to open his mouth. After we finished, I let out a loud yawn.
"Take a nap," Naru said, as he takes the bento out of my hands. I nodded, without thinking much, I lay my head on his arm, snuggling close to him.
"Good night," I simply said, but then something dawns on me. I opened my eyes to stare at my hands.
We just shared a meal and he drank from the same bottle from me. Was that an indirect kiss? My heart began to race once again.
Yet, I couldn't help but smile, feeling delightful by this. Naru glance down at me as his gaze turns tender. Closing my eyes, I couldn't stop smiling, as a teenager, I wanted to scream, but I couldn't since he was right next to me. Yet, slowly I began to fall into a deep slumber, not noticing that my body was dropping down. Naru catches me rapidly and places my head on top of his lap as everything began to fade on me, finally feeling at peace.
Finally, I can sleep. I slowly open my eyes to see Naru's blue eyes looking down at me with a strange look. Yet I'm not sure if it was a dream or not, but... I swear I saw Naru smiling gently as he watches me sleep running his fingers through my hair, then bends down to kiss... and everything went dark falling into a deep sleep.
O.o
It's been a day since we arrived, I awoke feeling refresh and to my shocking discovery on which Naru is sleeping in the van as well, with his hand over mine, with our fingers intertwined as his head was tilted back. I couldn't stop my heart racing and felt so comfortable by that.
I lift myself to stare at his sleeping face as this longing claimed my heart.
Did he kissed me last night? No, it was my dazed mind it's all. I took a breath, shaking my head.
"I don't know why, but I feel like I missed you so much, but thank you for staying with me," I whispered as I leaned forward and dared to kiss his cheek. He wrinkles his nose causing me to go back and I cover my mouth.
"Why did I just kiss him?" I shook my head, well let say, I move away from him before he awoke or found out, but sleeping with him felt right and full. I can't describe it, but I'm so glad he stood with me.
"It's been a day already." I frowned watching Yasuhara running his gaze down his laptop, trying to research something Naru send him to do inside of the base a few hours later. Lin has me reading pile after pile of old documents of this place. No activities since yesterday, so I think is a good thing, right? Well I think so since Naru and I spent time alone in the van, but no one questioned it which meant two things, they knew about it or didn't care about it which made me be at peace, it's embarrassing enough that I kissed him.
"Found anything?" I pocked his arm, Yasuhara lifts his gaze to turn towards me and fixed his glasses, causing them to sparkle.
"Stop poking me, I'm still progressing it, you?" He asks, leaning his gaze towards the file in hand. While he fixes his black hair a little. I shook my head, leaning my chin against the flat of my palm.
"No wolves nor horses, well not local around but some other cell-mates did kill others, and some suicide, that's all, but nothing about the headless man either," I told him. Yasuhara sighs but returns his gaze towards his laptop.
"There's an old library not far from here. I'll go by in an hour with Lin, to see if I can catch anything else, we missed." He whispers, typing once again. I gave him a soft smile, and return my gaze to the old documents.
"Tea," Naru voice rang behind me. I lifted my gaze and once again, a blush passes by my cheeks when our eyes connect after I turned around. He has his arms folded in front of his chest, leaning back on his chair with an intense stare, causing my stomach to knot in a good way.
Does he know I kissed him?
Standing up, Masako stood up as well since she was closer to the kettle. She came back early this morning since she finished with her filming.
"I'll get it," she tells him. Naru arched a brow but shook his head as I frowned sitting back down, and glance down at the old pages, but stared at it blankly.
I wanted to do it, why did she offer?
I return to my pages, only to feel a heavy aura pass around me. I nervously glance up, to see Naru sending me death glares. I cringed, lifting the folder, so I can try to cover the death glares but is not working. I could feel his gaze burn through the papers.
Why is he mad? He will get his tea.
I suddenly heard a sudden crash. Lowering my folder, Masako had tea all over the floor; luckily the glass only chips a little. I rapidly stood up and went to her side, as Naru and Yasu went after me.
"Masako, are you okay? What happen?" I question her as I bend down to her level to help her clean up the mess. Masako glance at me, with wide eyes, while Lin just walked in, and rushed towards our side. He glances at Masako.
"I thought I saw someone outside the window, I guess I'm wrong." She explains. I turned my body, to look out the large window, that has black bars on them. Searching around, a sudden eerie feeling fills me.
"Where's is Ayako?" I asked lifting the cup, while Naru bends down with a dry towel at hand. He surprises me when he starts to clean up the spill. I blushed, turning my gaze towards him to stare at him, he lifts his gaze and he gave me a passive look.
"She's with Bou-san, on the second floor we needed to get a head start," Naru explains. I frowned, biting my lower lip.
At least they are safe.
Naru suddenly stands clearing his throat and turns towards Masako while he held the towel at hand.
"Lin, take Ms. Hara towards the destination, and see if you can get anything, report back." He orders as he turns to ring out the towel and the small chipped glass in the trashcan that is near the window. I glance over Masako, to see her giving me a death glare. I was taken aback by this but turns to follow Lin out the door.
After throwing the glass away, I couldn't help but look out the window a sudden vision appears. Instead of a yard, it was the beach, the ocean is crystal clear and so beautiful.
"So beautiful, I wonder if Naru is okay," I said out loud, touching the bars, wrapping my fingers around, that catches Naru's attention and arched a brow. I began to long for him when someone appears on the beach.
As I kept looking out the sudden beach, aching to know if Naru is alright, a woman that looks almost like me but has a large burn on her face appears a few feet away from the window. My heart jumps painfully.
Why does she look like me? Who is she?
I can see that she snaps her fingers, and fire came out of them. My heart pulsed in m causing me to grasp my chest taking in a deep breath.
My heart!
Breathing rigidly. The woman turns her gaze towards me and her brown eyes lock with mine.
"You are almost close, don't repeat our lives, don't let the protector get you, Remember, wake up, he's waiting for you, remember, call for him!" Her voice echoes in my head, it sounds almost like mines.
"Call out for who?" I felt confused by this when suddenly the beach began to be consumed by fire and it rapidly went towards the woman that looks like me. My eyes narrow and my heart jumps in terror.
"No, Alice! Please don't burn, I'm so sorry!" I called out in agony trying to move, but I felt stuck in place. Tears ran down my eyes as I watch Alice being consumed by the fire and then disappear.
Finally, I could move so I turned around only to gasp when I see Naru standing right in front of me, just looking at me. He moves his hand and began to wipe my tears.
"She is already dead, you can't do anything," he said in a tender matter causing me to grab his arm.
"You… Saw her?" I asked between breaths causing him to nod at me.
"Mai, it's time to wake up, call for him," he said to me. I blinked confused by this as he lowers himself and kisses my cheek so tenderly. My heart flutters as he moves up and looks at me.
"Call out for him? Wait…" then something dawns on me as I stare at him dead in the eyes.
"You're not my Oliver are you?" I asked, he shook his head as he cups my cheeks gently.
"I came to protect you and to buy your husband time. Call him and he'll come, it's time for me to go with my wife." he simply said. My eyes widen as everything came back to me at the mention of my husband.
Wait, husband? Right, Naru, he's my husband, we are married for seven years, living on an isolated Island called the Black Lagoon, this is all a fake. I'm sorry Naru, I didn't mean to forget you.
"Oh no, this isn't real is it?" I asked him. Sasuke shook his head as he leans his forehead against mine.
"No, these were to distract you, call it a punishment from her," he admits. I took a hold of his hand and held it.
"I don't' get it, how am I Alice and you're Naru?" I asked him, remembering what conversation we had last year. Sasuke wraps his arms around me and gives me a soft kiss.
"We are simply you two, we are the same soul. You are my Alice,"
"And you're my Naru?" I asked. He chuckles nodding at me.
"You're kinder than Naru, but you act like him so much, it's scary," I told him. He shrugs, looking back down at me.
"Let say, I'm more open than him, but we are the same." he simply said to me.
"Thank you for protecting me, but I do admit, it was nice to see my friends again, even though they were faked," I told him. He nods as I rose myself in my tiptoes and kiss his cheek once again and took a step back.
"Wake up Mai, you're burning up. It's time to wake up my brave girl. It's me, Naru, the real one, your husband. The lady is using you. Wake up." I heard in my heart. I place my hand on my chest.
"I can hear Naru," I told Sasuke. He takes my hand and rose it, giving me a small kiss on top.
"Then call him." That is all he said and with that, he disappears in front of me causing me to blink.
"No, Sasuke, don't leave me," I called out feeling sad that he left, but it was too late everything I once saw was gone.
"What's going?" my voice thicken as the atmosphere turns dark, very dark on which the hair on the back of my neck and arms stood up.
"Sasuke, Sasuke, that's what I hate about him, he always gets in the way!" a woman's voice echoed down on me. I turned my gaze towards my left and my eyes widen. There she stood wearing a white old decaying yellowing dress with a few holes on it as another pulse pulsed around me.
"Lady?" I said, when I hissed in pain, it was so bad that I had to bend on my knees, holding my head feeling it pound.
"We are stuck on an island, this is fake. Why? Lady, why did you do this? We want to help you. We want to help everyone, tell me. Why?" I begged, feeling my hands starting to sizzle more. I lifted my hands, to see fire spark around my fingertips. Now, I remember everything. This is all her doing? She separated me from Naru, my real Naru.
"You still haven't figured it out? I gave you so many clues as well for that husband of yours, even that husband of yours figured it out. I still don't know how he managed to break through my barrier? My daughter is time to die. If Alack and Isac can't bring me, my last two souls, then I have to do it myself. Never send someone else to do your dirty work. Sasuke was a coward as well, ever since he pledged his life to that woman, he changed. So I had to take him out. I don't care that he's your protector. I will get your soul."
Her face twisted into something horrifying. Her face looks like is being hit by several iron pans, burnt into a crisp, some flesh hanging out, with two black holes sockets for eyes.
Husband? Naru? when did he... Back seven years ago, that man was Naru, he was warning me about this woman. Oh no. I remember now what he told me before I blacked out. Then Naru is right, she's… Now that I think of Alice's words from a few minutes ago along with Naru's seven years ago.
"Naru, please, come to me!" I called out for my husband wishing him to be by my side with all my heart.
Not sure how I felt a strong grasp in my hand turning me around causing me to gasp. I land my hands on his firm chest and I look up to see Naru materialized in front of me and my eyes widen, to see the most deadly cold stare on which I have ever seen in him. He coldly smirked at the lady.
"My lady, I found the object under the boulder. I finally realized what it is. Finally, I gather everything, and this time, I will stop you. I will keep my word. Now, my fire starter, finish it." He turns to face me, and his eyes remained cold.
I gulped, but nodded, feeling him giving me a little squeeze of encouragement, which I return to face her knowing very well that he has my back, knowing who this woman is.
I felt a great power emerge around me a feeling of something. I'm not sure how, is it because Naru is transmitting his power towards me? All I can see the fire in my hands flared up, and I pointed at her.
"I will free everyone as we promised years ago.." I told her. The lady's eyes widen, as my flames turned deeper red feeling my hands burning at the progress. I gave a fast glance over Naru to see him pointing at the lady as his pk radiated from him.
"Now Mai!" Naru yells while the Lady moves swiftly, heading towards us.
"No, nobody was able to defeat me in the past. No one will, not even a damn Firestarter. I will get your soul!" she screams in a deep demonic type of voice. As I let go of my fire and Naru lets go of his Pk at the same time and both powers infused into one big ball, with the fire and the pk, fused into one and the woman's black socket eyes widen in pure shock.
"It's time to give up your status as the Protector of the Island and liberate the souls."
"NO!" she screams in pure agony as the ball touches her, disintegrating her ghostly body.

Deleted Scene: A day after their Wedding:
"So the gloves," I brought up as Naru had me sit on the ground near the stream. I watch him extend our freshly washed clothes and blankets on top of the boulders so they will dry within the hour. I helped him wash some of them since I felt bad for him doing it by himself. Naru didn't want me to do much, since he was scared that I would hurt even more after last night. I smiled gently at his treatment. Seriously, who would have thought Naru would be so sweet.
It wasn't a dream at all, we made love.
"I was thinking about it," Naru said as he extends the blankets out, I tilt forward to grab a mango (which was in front of me and Naru brought me earlier today.) and began to peel it.
"What did you thought of it? They are the same gloves from the ship, but a bit newer in a way. This island confuses me." I told him as he rubs his hands and turns towards me. I wave at him to come up to me so he does.
"The island has a dark sense of humor, I give you that. There's has to be a connection between the gloves to the island," he said as he came up to me. I signal him to sit in front of me. So he does, as I peel half a mango with the knife that I used to stab well, Naru forced me to stab him with. Sadly we couldn't get rid of it since it's the only thing we have to cut the fruits and such or not I would have thrown this blasted thing away. I hate it.
"How so? I mean I guess, but please elaborate." I told him as I extend my hand showing him the mango I peeled off. He opens his mouth as I popped it in his mouth. He closes his mouth and began to chew as I wipe his mouth from the juice. Retreating my hand, I licked my fingers and continue to cut.
"I'm not sure myself, but I think is Ayame way to keep us connected or something in those lines. None of the diaries or books mentions the gloves, so it just a theory at the moment," he admits. I ate peace of mango then fed another one for him as he took it.
"It makes sense, but does it belong to her though? We don't know much about it and you know how Ayame love to tells us riddles," I proclaimed. Naru nods as he suddenly gets closer to me. I blink taken aback by his sudden move.
"For now we have to weigh it out until this gets resolved," he said as my heart skips a beat.
"Y...Yeah," I told him a bit nervously.
"Let's do the test," he said. My eyes narrow.
"Now?"
"Yes now, it's been overdue," he said causing me to pout.
"I don't want to," I said shaking my shoulders, as his eyes tighten.
"Come on, it's been a year now Mai those three days has been long over due," he said to me. An idea popped in my head as I get on my knees and get closer to him and lowered my dress to show a tiny bit of cleavage as his eyes lands down, a little tease to get him to forget, well I hope I'm doing this right. He swallows hard as I felt my chest warm up.
He likes what he sees, good.
"You sure you want to test me now?" I teased as I leaned forward and press my lips on the junction of his neck and began to kiss him tenderly. I felt him shudder, half closing his eyes, as I pressed my lips more into his skin, aching for him to kiss me back while I wrap my arm around his head.
"Y… yes," he said breathlessly as I move away from him and look dead at his eyes frowning.
"Seriously? You know I'm trying to seduce you right? So I won't have my teacher to test me." I said seriously. He suddenly wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his embrace causing me to gasp.
"Then I have to punish my student," he said in a low seductive tone and my eyes wide as a mischievous smirk pass his lips.
"No, no, Naru!" I yell as he scoops me up over his shoulders and stands up making my eyes widen.
"Now, I'm getting these questions out, for the first question." he began as he walks me towards the water.
"Naru!" I screamed hearing him chuckle.
"Calm down my little worm," he pats my behind. I sigh in defeat knowing he won't let me go.
He's going to get it, how dare he do that, knowing that I want him, that's not fair.
"Will you place me down?" I pleaded him.
"Depends if you answer this right, what is the first thing you have to do to protect yourself?"
"To never seduce your teacher," I said seriously making him stop halfway and pulls me down causing me to slide wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his shoulders. He has this satisfying smirk on his lips as I felt his hands holding my bottom so I won't fall down.
"Nice safe," he teased me as he leans down to give me a peck kiss causing me to giggle.
"But I still can seduce my strict boss," I told him causing Naru to nod seriously.
"Always, I promise your husband won't get jealous." I burst out laughing causing Naru to smile tenderly and deep down we both knew we were just teasing each other, having fun because this is are the moment that I get to see Naru's real self and I wouldn't change it for the world.
I hope you all like this new version of the story, I think it makes more sense and such, plus I wanted to explore her anxiety from not sleeping next to Naru. Thanks for the reviews and for enjoying it. :)
