I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of my story.

Author's Note at the end

He stops a couple of feet away from her. Her stop was too sudden for him to stop with her. He walks back towards where she is and throws himself on the grass as she slowly sits down.

"What are you playing at?"

"Me?" he asks her fluttering his eyelashes in faux innocence.

"Yes. You," she tells him accusingly.

"Nothing. I am here to run," he tells her sweetly while smiling at her.

"This right there is how I know you are lying. You have never been a morning person and you are practically giddy. All that is left for you to do is to rub your hand and laugh manically or worse jump like the energizer bunny."

He raises his back off the grass and sits beside her as he says, "why do you always assume that I couldn't have changed? It's been five years. Things are different. I am no longer the man you knew," he tells her running his fingers through his hair to make sure there is no grass in it. She looks at him, really looks making him feel uncomfortable.

After a minute of that, he finally asks, "what? Why are you starting at me?"

"I am trying to figure you out," she tells him softly looking miles away while looking in his eyes.

"What did you find?" he asks her genuinely interested in knowing what she has to say about him.

"You are full of shit. What do you want?" she replies a couple of minutes later looking at the ground.

When he shakes his head in disagreement with her she tells him, "Yes you are. Maybe you are used to Tanya not knowing you but I do." From the look on his face, she knows she has hit a nerve.

"And here I was wondering when you will show your true colors and start the mudslinging," he exclaims infuriated that she insulted Tanya. Mind you he is not one to talk. He is more furious by what Tanya not knowing him implies than Bella insulting Tanya. But then again, he isn't known for not being a hypocrite.

"I mean if you wanna see it that way sure, why not?" she tells him pausing for a second and leaning towards him to whisper in his ears, "you are wrong on the Tanya part. I wasn't insulting her. I was insulting you."

He finds her smiling when he looks at her and it takes everything in him not to let his anger take over.

"No angry reaction? Impressive. You have either truly changed or you are very committed to the bullshit you are dishing and I don't know what is worse," she tells him as scoots back a little and turns towards him.

"So let me get this straight. You annoyed her. She saw through your bullshit and somehow you call that a success?" Seth asks him as he paces in his living room. Aside from Emmett, Seth is the only person pervy of what Edward found about Marco/Jacob or whoever the hell he is. Seth is the only person aware of all of the details of his breakup with Bella. To say that he is close with him is putting it lightly.

Edward nods his head prompting Seth to mutter, "he's lost his damn mind." Edward rolls his eyes at him as he gets up and gets two beers from the kitchen. He opens one and hands the other to Seth who opens it and chugs half of it in one go.

"Edward this is not about your ego. Her life could potentially be in danger. You can't be waiting your time playing those stupid games of yours. This is not about proving to her that she shouldn't have dumped you."

Edward huffs and mutters under his breath, "everyone I know underestimates me and thinks I am stupid," then he speaks louder, "just like Bella knows me well, I know her well too. Bella enjoys solving a puzzle. My weird behavior is going to provide her with enough interest that allows me to gain back her trust. She won't listen to me unless she trusts me."

Seth looks at him while running his fingers through his hair, "I don't know man. You know her better than I do," he tells him looking unsure.

They spend the next hour strategizing breaking the news to Bella the way they strategize for court. Never mind the fact that they are talking about emotions and a woman finding that her husband is a murderer both parties can't predict Bella's.

I hope you had fun reading Bella and Edward's interaction. There will be more of it in the next chapter. Leave me your thoughts in a review. I love reading them. Constructive criticism is much appreciated.

You guys are amazing. I appreciate every single review, favorite, and follow I receive from you.

Also to the person that described Edward as a "typical entitled basic white het-cis man" your comment made my day.

Till my next update,

Stay Safe.
