Chapter Fifty-one: Scrolls

Mai POV

(Dream)

I don't know how, but somehow we ended up in a deep slumber after a few hours of being awake, and to be honest, I was scared out of my mind of what we just witness. If Naru wasn't with me at the moment, I would have lost it. My heart goes out for Poppy, no woman or men should be forced to do anything against their will. Such a horrible experience.

All I can see is a weeping lady in the corner of the room, dress in a white dress, smear with blood covering her face with her hands.

"Excuse me?" I carefully asked confused by this new character, she's not the same woman I saw a few nights ago.

I slowly move towards her, trying hard to not scare her. The weeping lady lowers her hands and lifts her gaze and points behind me.

I swallowed hard, not wanting to turn around, but slowly I turned around holding to my hand, as soon I turned, I see Poppy sobbing hard looking at me with despair and loneliness.

"It was the creator's fault, I'm sorry papa." she cries harder when William appears next to her. I fist my hand, trying hard to control myself from hitting him or something.

"Come, he's dead, Mother wants a grandchild." he forces her to get up, as Poppy gave him a death glare.

"Over my dead body." She screams, my eyes widen to see him hit her once again. Anxiety pierced in my heart as I screamed from the top of my lungs.

"STOP IT!"

They disappear from my sight when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Gene frowning at me.

"Go to the garden.. There's a clue there.." and before I could ask, everything disappears.

...

...

...

I snap my eyes to see the early rays of the sun coming from the horizon, shining through the window.

I arched my body up, to feel an arm around me. turned my body, to see Naru staring at me. He just blinks while my heart leaps, I leaned down to kiss his cheek.

"You didn't sleep?" He shook his head at my question.

"I just woke up. You saw Gene?" he gently asks me.

I move my hand and brush his bangs out of his blue eyes.

"How do you know?" I asked him. He runs his finger down my nose and leans up to kiss my lips causing me to smile dreamily at him.

"You called out for him, so what happened?" he asks me.

"Oh, Gene said to go to the garden for something, I can't remember why though," I explained to him while feeling as though I'm missing something important.

He nods slightly as he stands.

I did the same, rubbing my sleepy eyes.

"I want to sleep more, but I'm too scared, Let's get this over with," I was determined, standing up, I stretched my muscles, heading for our bag which on the ground, near the tub.

I reach out, to get dressed, as Naru glances out the window.

"So? Are they still out there?" I asked turning my gaze towards him. Naru shook his head, turning to come up to me.

"No... No fog as well." He whispers as I handed him the bag, I took off my dress, to place on my pants and shirt. I lift my gaze to see Naru staring at me. I felt a bit self-conscious since I'm naked.

He called me beautiful last night, it was so wonderful to hear it from him. I don't think he even noticed when he said it. please Naru, continue to look at me like that in the future, it feels so wonderful.

"What?" I asked blushing, as he takes out his black shirt.

"Nothing, I think you should keep wearing dresses. Wear the pants under them," he suggested. I frowned but nodded.

"Good idea, he has never seen a girl with pants and shirt, so yeah." I move towards the wardrobe, to grab the blue light dress which thinner and I can move better around.

Naru places his shirt on, then his pants while I place the blue dress on.

"I have no idea how we slept after what we witness last night," I asked him.

"Easy Mai, we were too tired, sometimes our brains block of things its normal reaction at times," he explains. I was about to say something when I felt his hands on my back and grabs the zipper to zip up my dress.

"Thank you, ah, I forgot to ask," I ask while I place my hand inside of the bag to grab an apple and bananas.

"What?" He asks as I peeled the banana and took a bite, then rose it up for Naru, to take his bite.

"The food, I didn't eat because I'm scared it was poisoned or something like that. You know, one time I saw a movie where some people went into a haunted ship and ate the food, later it discovered it was rotten, so I thought of that as well." I told him.

"I was thinking the same along those lines, good job," he praises as he pats my head causing me to scrunch myself down a bit.

"Does it count for our test?" I question him. He arched a brow as he takes another bite of my banana then grabs my apple to take a bite.

"Yes, since you fed your teacher," he teases me causing me to roll my eyes and went around him not before patting his butt.

"Whatever to get the good grades, eh Sensei," I teased causing Naru, to smirk at me.

"Now, now, can't have a seductive student, it will make the others jealous," he stated as I stop and turned to look at him.

"What others?" I asked as I began to fold the yellow dress, not sure where to place it.

"Alice and Sasuke," he said as he came up to me. I shrug giving him a mischievous smirk.

"Oh no, let it not be, having a husband and wife flirt with each other making our other selves jealous, God forbid." I teased back as Naru wraps his arm around my waist and leans down to kiss my neck causing me to giggle.

"Good to know my student knows how it works, but seriously Mai, I'm sure they are happy, after all, we are living what they wish they had, so let's fill that for them," he said in a deep voice causing me to lean against him while closing my eyes.

"With great pleasure, My love," I whispered sadly as I turn to kiss his warm lips.

"Now, let's finish our breakfast, and let's get this over with, I want to go home or not, I will rip someone's neck off." He hissed as he nudges the side of my head in a loving matter as we separated.

"I know, I feel the same," I whispered, leaving the dress on top of the bed.

As he takes out more of the food, I sat on the edge of the bed waiting for him to give me some more.

"I need to use the bathroom," I told him. Naru straightens up and looks around to find a large round brown wooden watering pot. I follow his gaze and look at what he shows me. I turn to look at him.

"I don't need a pot, I need a toilet, don't they have one here?" I asked him. Naru looks very amused, not sure of his inner joke.

"This is the first version of a toilet Mai, have fun," he throws it on top of the bed.

"Eii? What?" I squealed as he points with his eyes in a serious look, with a playful hint.

"It's a chamber pot, most people pee and did their business in there, welcome to the 19th century," he said. I stood up and shook my head.

"I rather go outside like we've been doing for the last seven years," I told him. Naru shrugs as he took the chamber pot and went to the corner of the room facing his back at me.

"Suit yourself." he simply said with a shrug as began to lower his zipper then I heard him relieve himself. I grabbed the pillow and threw it on his back, causing him to stumble a bit.

"Hey, I'm peeing here." Naru turns to look at me as I took out my tongue at him.

"I can see and hear that, but you have it easy, I have to squat." I felt disappointed as he turns to finish up.

"Just give me a second, you'll get your chance," he stated. I sat back down and cross my arms in front of my chest.

"Lucky!" I simply said as he finishes and looks around to find somewhere to wash his hands.

"I'll be back in a minute." he simply said, I was about to say something but he disappears. I rubbed my arms when I look at the locked door.

Naru, please come back. I prayed when I felt a cold hand on my arm. I jump in fright to turn to see Naru looking at me. I breathed out in relief.

"Sorry, come," he said as he grabs my hand, noticing that they were wet. I took it.

"Don't ever leave me alone again," I told him.

"Wanted me to touch you with my dirty hands?" he asks me with a raised brow. I shook my head as I incircle my arms around his midsection.

"I could hold you like this when you are going to leave, but don't ever leave me alone not on this island or when we go back to Japan. I don't know how to live without you Naru, not even for a minute." I shook as Naru wrap his arms around me and kiss the top of my head.

"Sorry, next time I take you with me, and I feel the same Mai, trust me. Come, so you can relieve yourself." He simply said and the next thing I knew we were in the middle of the forest, it so early that I can hear the birds singing.

"Thank you," I told him, he nods at me as he lets go of my hand so I can do my business.

I have never been so happy being in the middle of the forest with my husband, far away from that dreadful place.

...

...

...

Peaceful things never last long, since we had to return, but those five minutes felt heavenly to us, we even had a small walk, holding each other hands.

"Too bad, it didn't last," I told him as he gathers our bag.

"Next time we'll go for a stroll since you are healthier," he said causing me to nod.

"Yes, let's." I clapped with happiness when we heard a slight knock at the door freezing us at the spot.

"Morning Alice, if your awake, breakfast is ready," William spoke. I shivered in disgust remembering what happened last night.

Naru rolls his eyes at the man as he adjusts the bag, wrapping his arm around my waist. I place my hand on his chest giving him a confused look. He lowers himself and kisses my cheek causing my heart to jump warmly.

"Err, Morning, and okay, be down soon!" I screamed.

"Alright, I tried to wake your brother, but he seems like a heavy sleeper," William stated. Naru began to kiss down my jaw making small circles on my waist causing me to grow weak at his touch. I held on to his arm so I won't fall since my knees were growing weak. I didn't notice the sly smirk on his lips, desire, and love.

"Err, he is, I'll go and g... Get him." I try to sound as normal as it was hard to since I was pushing my body against Naru, breathing unevenly aching to feel more of his lips and touches.

Concentrate, don't... Naru is so mean, I can't think.

"Okay, see you soon," and with that, no more is said between us. Naru rose himself to look at me. I shrug his shoulder.

"That wasn't nice," I said as he arched a brow a bit amused and serious, he leans down and kisses my cheek.

"What? I didn't do anything." he plays the innocent card, as I rolled my eyes at him.

He gave me a playful smile, but then he turns serious as I grab his hand and look straight at him.

"Now back to reality Naru, what do we do with him?'

"Nothing, he's not human so we can't do much, we can try to make him move on, but that's all, but today we are leaving," he stated without hesitation while the next thing I knew I'm facing a long yard with beautiful flowers and bushes around.

I look up at Naru a bit shocked.

"How did you know, this the backyard?" I asked him. Naru shrugs at me looking around.

"I didn't, I guess. Let's look whatever Gene wants us to look for, before lover boy over there, discover us." He said in a melodramatic way causing me to squint my eyes in suspicion.

"You don't know huh? Hey, he's not a lover boy, he is disgusting to the core. I wonder who is he, and where he came from?"

"Why?"

"Why? Cause he hurt Poppy and threatens me. He could be the cause of everything. I want to learn about my enemy and I pity that guy, cause he is wrong.." I told him.

Naru's eyes turn dark.

"You pity him?"

"Of course, cause he went to the dark side, in other words. He won't be happy, I mean, wasn't happy. He hurt others that are unforgivable and repulsive, but if God, can forgive many with ultimate sins as John taught us then, I pity this one. I hate people like that, but all we can do is try to figure this out. I want to help Poppy very much and I want to hold her and comfort her. I want to give her warmth." I told him feeling my heartache for her.

Naru rubs my back

"You are too good Mai.." he whispers, giving me a strong strange look, causing me to make my heart flutter. Like yesterday, all he could see me is with love.

"I'm so blessed to have you Naru, you have no idea how much I thank God for giving me a good loving husband, that respects me a lot and never forced yourself on me even when you were in pain and I have no idea how to repay you for that. I see it differently, that's all." I reminded him. Naru shook his head as I rub his hand loveling.

"Is not because I'm a good husband Mai." He began causing me to give him a disbelieving look.

"Huh?" I felt strange by his words. Naru lift my hand and place a tender kiss.

"Because you made me a better person without forcing me to change. Every day you heal my heart, Mai. Once I was a bitter man without light but you are mending my heart in ways you have no idea. You have become my light in my dark world. I grasp every moment to try to be patient with you because I'm not perfect, but you make me want to be a better man and you're worth it." My heart swoons at his words as tears gather in my eyes.

He clears his throat and his cheeks turn a bit pink as he looks around. I shyly lift myself and kiss his cheek, causing him to look at me. He blushed harder at my stare.

Better man? Naru, you make me a better woman, don't you know that? You're making me fall in love with you all over again. I never get tired of loving you more and more each day. I cleared my throat as I look at him as precious as anything in this world.

"Let's find that clue," I said causing Naru, to nod at me.

"I'll take the right side, you take the other?" I pointed to my right. Naru nods, moving towards the bush flowers. I move towards my side and started to search.

I feel like a déjà vu all over again. Reminds me of when we had to look for Ayame paper, back at the treehouse. Oh my, how I miss her.

A little ache pass by me, at the thought of her.

About ten minutes later, I wipe my sweetheart out of my forehead, shaking my head since I'm bending down searching on the ground behind the bushes.

Gene you have to be more detailed there's nothing around.

I turned around only to yelp, to see Naru bend down at my level looking at me.

"Okay, seriously. I'm placing bells on you. So you can stop being a Ninja." I scolded rubbing my chest trying to control my pounding heart.

Standing up, Naru turns his gaze and points to his left.

"I found something." He ignores my statement.

"So you had to scare me to point that out?" I shook my head as Naru stood up and walks with me towards where he point it.

We stop in front of a weird-looking white plant, which had a strange oval shape, plain-looking as well. I couldn't spot anything out of the ordinary.

"What am I suppose to see?" I asked him. Naru bends on his knees next to me and lifts a portion of the bush. He nudges with his head for me to see.

I bend down, placing my hands on the ground, and tilted my head down slightly to my right and my eyes narrow.

"Is that!" I gulped covering my mouth with my hand, lifting my gaze at Naru. He nods, placing his hands on top of his knees.

"It is... It's a curse.." he whispers.

I blinked, looking down at the old yellow scroll, that has a weird marking on it. My heart started to pound, as a weird feeling started to surface in my heart.

"The dark arts... Did William place this here? Or Poppy?" I asked him. Naru shrugs, as he stands, while he grasps my arm and gently helps me up.

"So let us get this right, whoever placed this here, is the cause of the creatures, or the curse of the island? I thought I awoke them? I'm so lost, to be honest." I shook my head getting a headache as Naru shakes his head turning his gaze towards the gothic mansion.

"No, you have awoken them no doubt in that. William isn't human, nor is he a spirit... He is something else, I'm still trying to figure that one out. Something doesn't seem right. Like I said before that feeling is still there. When my guts tell me something, that means I'm right. We need to figure out who is this mother is as she plays a big role. Was she the one that murder Poppy's father? Or William?"

"Could be either or the creature... Either way, something deeper and darker happened, to make Poppy turn into the Island protector. To make you and the others her dog. She stole these powers, now we are stuck with them for the rest of our lives. I feel like we rob them. I want to give it back, but we can't." I frowned, as Naru pats my shoulder.

"Let see if Poppy is the protector, we can't just jump to conclusions just yet. Let's see how many of these scrolls we can find, map it out, and see if we can get rid of them. Since we don't' have John nor Monk, it will be hard." The mention of them, from Naru's lips, cause my heart to leap once again, in a sad way.

"I miss them, I wonder if they are having a good life. Gene said they are still looking for us. Then again, now that I think of it; Gene seems odd about it. It's like he's trying to tell me something, but can't... He sometimes says, when they find us, we will be in for a great surprise. I wonder what that means, the only surprise they would have from us that we are still alive and married, but that's all, and it wouldn't be a surprise for you that they moved on to make their lives. Do you know what he meant by is not what it seems?" Naru shrugs, turning around, placing his hands inside of his pockets.

"Will learn soon enough, we have three more years to go, " He tells me.

"Yeah, but why does it feel much longer than normal?" I asked causing him to shrug. With that, we began to look for the rest of the scrolls.

Naru POV

"I found another!" Mai yells waving her hand, as we stood at the opposite side of the garden, near the front. I glanced at the stained window, with the weeping lady causing me to tilt my head to the side.

Why do I find you so mysterious? What secret do you hold?

Lost in my thought, I felt Mai's hand on my arm.

I turned my gaze down, to see Mai staring at the stained glass.

"That lady... She reminds me of someone like I have seen her before." She declares as she taps her chin. I arched a brow, turning my gaze at the window.

"Who?"

"Don't know... I feel like I know her. For some odd reason, now that I can see it better."

"Maybe she plays a big part and did saw her, let see how it plays out. So, where was that scroll?" I asked turning around.

Mai moves next to me and points behind an old tree. I move towards it, and tilt my body forward, to see the scroll plaster on the bottom, cover with dirt, but I still can make out the symbol.

"That's the fourth one." Mai whispers.

Since the last two, we found each corner around the house, about an hour ago.

"Mai, let's make that bet," I stated, turning to face her. Mai arched her brow, giving me a suspicious look.

"Now?"

"Yes, little by little, I'll ask you questions and you simply answer me… If you miss one, I'll have to punish you." I shrugged, for a reason, I needed to think, this is the best way. Mai frowns, but nods.

I miss Lin at these times, he would help me. I hope he's living happily.

"Okay... But remember, if I win, you have to do anything I ask for. Strange day to pick to do our bet, that we made years ago and continues to be proposed." She murmurs to herself. I smirked, leaning forward, as my eyes search for her brunette eyes, which hold so much emotion.

If I could, I could get lost on them. One of Mai's best features is her deep eyes, which shine with light and hope.

"I know if not, you have to dance for me, whatever I choose," I smirked at her. Remembering that night, when she danced around the fire, on her nineteen birthday. I felt myself shiver in delight.

Mai blushes, but nods.

"I will not lose." She looks determined. Nodding, I turned, to face the tree.

"First question." I began while Mai nods being ready for anything.

"Shoot, but wait, what type of punishment, if I get the answer wrong? I mean, how could we know, if I won or you?"

"The punishment, I get to flick your forehead, the less wrong answers you get, is good, that means, that you have been studying hard, and you'll win. I'll keep count." I simply told her. She touches her forehead.

"Really? You'll flick me?"

"Yes." Mai frowns, but nods.

"Okay.. Don't do it too hard though.." I smirked, at her, noticing a little fear in her eyes, but my conscience kicked in.

I can't harm her... I can't even scream at her without feeling a pang of deep guilt. She has me whipped, so I know she can do this.

"When there's a curse around the premises, what is the main purpose of the person?" I asked. Mai crosses her arms, looking at the ground, thinking hard.

"Numerous things to be honest depending on the person's state of mind. For example to gain power, money, fame, for revenge or to mess around, to gain something.. To become immortal or he or she is just plain crazy as well, to control the unknown.." she nailed it causing me to proudly smirk at her.

So the question is, what purpose did he or she had to gain power? And why?

"Did I do okay?"

"You have been listening, the second question." I lower my head, rubbing my chin.

"If he or she wants to control or gain power, what is the best way to stop them?" I knew the answer, but I wanted Mai to answer that just in case I can get an idea from it.

Mai bit her lower lip, then claps at me causing me to look at her.

"Ah, exorcism, but depends on what level it's the curse or demon. Sometimes, exorcism doesn't work, since you have to get to the core of the curse. You told me once, that you have to get to the root, like a tree. Cut it off, everything dies off. So, we need to find the root of this." I smirked at her, nodding.

"So?"

"I have a good student." I praised making her blush deeply at my compliment.

"I have a good teacher. You make things easy for me to follow at the beginning not so great, but we work through it." Mai stops, as her eyes widen while she gets close to me. I turned and my eyes narrow with pure hatred.

Great, Mr. Grimy had to show up and ruining it.

"There you are, I have been waiting for an hour. I thought you fell asleep... I.." William spoke out causing me to cross my arms.

"Oh, morning, Sasuke." His voice seems forced as his eyes land on me. I give him a passive look.

Sick bastard.

"I apologize, you did say to roam about your house, so I took my sister for a stroll. Didn't mean to steal her away from you." My voice is venomous and sarcastic. The boy's eyes glint a little, as he shook his head.

"Understandable and after all, she's your sister, so please, do allow me to show her around. Take a break.." I felt Mai turned rigid at his suggestion.

I gave him a sly smirk.

"I don't mind, I do enjoy the view with my sister. Also, I have some questions,"

"Go ahead, I do want a clean state with you."

"I'm pleased, then, answer me this... Who are you? What's your background.." I asked, crossing my arms.

"Oh, I don't have too much to tell. I am the son of Edward and Elizabeth. They both had me and my sister Poppy. I lived in this house all my life. I had my share of girls, I do admit, but none, though capture my interest like your sister. I have studied abroad, and that's all." Again, with that, my blood started to boil.

Wait, he studied in the United States? That makes no sense,

isn't he stuck here? What lies he keeps lying?

God, please, hold me down and I don't care what he is, I don't want to commit murder.

"Ah, very good, can you please, show us around. We became a little lost." I lied, to see if I can find something out of the abnormal or a secret room, it has to have one.

He nods as he started to walk around going up to my wife. I follow behind watching with critical eyes while he began to talk to Mai.

Mai kept glancing at me, giving me concern looks, while he gave a nervous cackle here and there.

I could freeze him, but for a reason, somewhere in me, says I shouldn't.' I thought, like the rest of the day, we kept with William… All I wanted to into bang my head against a wall.

Mai POV

"I'll check if Poppy would want to see you now," William says as we stood in the ballroom that afternoon after our small tour around the mansion and I can tell you, is not a grand tour.

I'm starving and my feet hurt from all the walking all over. Naru leans against the wall sending killing looks at William.

Watching him leave, I breathed out, flopping down on the ground, stretching my arm out.

"Ne, Naru, my body hurts. I'm still recovering, and he made us walk all over the darn place. Please tell me it was useful." I turned to face him.

Naru goes up to me and bends down, placing his arms on his bent knees.

"It helps so we can look for more of the scrolls, sorry," he whispers. I stretched my arm, wiggling my fingers at him. He takes my fingers and intertwines them with his. I couldn't help but smile.

"While you were here with me, anything," I told him honestly.

He gave me a soft look, which melts my heart, he leans down and kisses my hand and then let go. I place my hand on my chest and rubbed it, as I stare into the ballroom.

A sudden thought passes my mind.

"Hey, remember that case, years ago, where they almost cut my head off." I shivered from the memory, forgetting everything, even the name.. Too painful for me.. Naru nods.

"I remember, you were crying a lot.." he admits to me as I felt him sit next to me making me lean against him.

I frowned, as a small blush pass by my cheeks.

"I don't want to remember it, but I remember the tea when you handed it to me. You look so cute. and it was the first time you give me something, which I hold dear in my heart," I turn to look at him with a loving smile. He clears his throat, noticing his cheeks turning a light pink.

I don't understand, why is he blushing a lot? He looks so adorable.

"Get to the point." He pushes. I wiggle myself in front of him and cross my legs, and leaned forward. He blinks as I search his eyes.

"Maybe a secret compartment, like that case... A chamber under this house.." I told him. Naru blinks at me as though he's thinking of it.

"Oh, I know, I was trying to find one, that's why the tour wasn't for nothing." he simply stated.

I frowned, looking down at the floor.

"Oh! Then why did I think about that case, Eii!, even if it's been ten years, is still scary as heck. It felt so real, to feel that sharp butcher knife on my throat.." I shivered at the memory.

I felt Naru rub my back, causing me to lean against him.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that," I could hear sincerity in his tone. I shook my head at him.

"We didn't know, while we were all alive and fine and manage to solve the case, it's all in the past. Plus we went through in this place is so much worse. We can even write a novel." I told him. Naru leans forward and kisses the side of my head.

"A best selling book base in reality." he simply said causing me to giggle in a platonic way.

"Can't wait," I told him as Naru gave me a serious look as I leaned forward to kiss his cheek.

"Mai, I know this is hard, but try to not think of it, it's all in the past okay. You're safe and with me." He assured me.

I move to place my forehead against his and loveling rubbed it, enjoying his warmth. Naru gave me an odd look again.

"I do try, and you help me a lot since I got a goal in life to just pounder in the past," I assured him, as I leaned down and kiss his lips, aching to kiss him more, but we heard the door open. I jump back as a blush passes my cheeks and Naru clears his throat, blushing again looking away.

William walks in, staring at us. I turned to look at him and nervously wave at him.

Act cool Mai, you can do this.

"She refused once again, I do apologies on behalf of my sister." He bows a little while I wave my hands.

"Let her take her time, losing someone is not easy. Either way, I'm starving... I'll go up and wash up.." I excuse myself wanted to just leave, and stay away from him.

William nods as I stood up, and Naru follows me with my movements.

"It was a pleasure to spend almost all day with you. See you at dinner." and with that, he leaves.

That's all? the more I spent time here the more this bad feeling get's thicker and thicker. I don't like it.

I turned to face Naru.

"Another question..." he added, as he places his hands inside of his pockets.

"Which is?" I asked as he takes out his right arm and shows me his hand. I slip my hand on his and held it tight as I place it against my cheek.

"What do we do, if we want to get to the bottom of this?" he asks me. I lowered our joined hand and smirk at him.

"Easy my love, we follow him," I answered him. Naru smirks back as he nudges my shoulder in a playful matter, but then bows as a gentleman causing me to blink a bit taken aback.

"Naru?" He lifts himself and kisses my hand once again.

"My lady, you know how to speak to my heart."

(Deleted Scene: The Sixth year in Black Lagoon.)

Naru Pov

"Can you give me one whole sentence in English, please!" Mai pleads me as I cut the coconuts in half. I wipe my forehead and turn to look at her.

"You sure?"

"Yes, I'm ready, after reading so many English books and such, I think I nailed it.

I straighten up after gathering the two halves of the coconuts and went up to her to offer it to her. She took it and began to drink it. I sat next to her since we sat on the sandy floor that outlooks the ocean. The sun isn't as powerful today, since there are a few clouds today.

"Alright, I'll speak to you in English, you have to return everything I tell you back to me without missing one word or answer it," I told her. Mai nods at me looking determined.

"I'm ready." she turns to face me as I did the same, after placing the coconut down next to me.

"This past six years, after long trials and tribulations, you finally can speak in English and understand it, how do you feel? What is your purpose in learning and has your teacher been good to you?"

Mai concentrating on my words as she stares at my lips, causing me to lick them. She smiles at me and nods.

"I got it, okay so I'll answer you in English now," she said. I nodded as I took the coconut to drink as she places her down.

"This past six years after long trials and tribulations, I finally can speak English and understand it, how do I feel about it? Well, Oliver, I feel beyond happy because I can help you know and help myself to expand my learning. As well as you being my teacher, it had its bumpy roads, but it was worth it. I have the most terrific teacher I could ever ask for." She answers me perfectly with an accent of course.

I place my coconut down as Mai nervously looks at me.

"I did stumble here and there, but I hope I got it right, did I?" she asks me. I felt my heart hammering hard, for being so proud and happy for her.

"The student has passed the test," I told her seriously. Her eyes widen in pure delight.

"Really?" she gasped out.

"I wouldn't joke, you still need a bit more improvement, but you understood me and I understood you and answered me correctly." I praised. She stands up and began to run around like a child yelling in pure happiness and surprises me as she jumps me, wrapping her arms around me causing me to lose balance and I fall back, causing her to fall with me. I wrap my arms around her small body as she looks down at me smiling brightly as I chuckled.

"Thank you, thank you." She said causing me to nod at her.

"Thank you for dealing with me," I told her honestly. She shook her head and leaned down to kiss my lips multiple times.

Then she rose herself breathing heavily as I stare at her, loving this too much.

"I love you! I love you so much Naru," she said with love in her tone and the way she is looking at me, making me happier than I am already am as my heart races so much for her alone. I spun her around causing her to yell as I was now above her, looking straight at her eyes. She moves her hand to wipe something out of my cheek.

"Me too," I told her honestly.

She smiles deeply as I leaned down and press my lips on hers, kissing her softly while she closes her eyes, returning the kiss.

Thanks for the reviews. :)

I took notice this book will belong... I hope Naru and Mai's relationship is not boring people.
