It just started out as a staring contest. That's all I thought it was going to be. Boy was I wrong. Dot, Marissa, Holly, Casey, and I were sitting outside at lunch on the ground. We were all getting bored so Casey suggested a staring contest. I easily beat Marissa. Holly beat Dot, but Casey beat Holly. So Casey and I were in the middle of a staring contest. It seemed like neither of us was going to blink. I could stare into his Easter-egg eyes all day. Whoa where did that thought come from? I asked myself. But it was true. I was completely lost in Casey's eyes. And it seemed he was lost in mine.
"Are they ever going to blink?" Dot asked, getting impatient.
"Shhh!" Marissa shushed her. "Just watch!" The reason Marissa had said that was because suddenly Casey and I had started leaning in. And we kept leaning. Our eyes still unblinking. And then our lips touched. We were both still staring into each others eyes. And then at the same time our eyes both closed. And I felt his lips give a slight bit more pressure on mine. It was pure bliss. When we pulled apart we were both grinning. And we started staring into each others eyes. Again.
"Ugh... is this gonna start another staring contest?" Dot complained.
"Will you shut up!" Holly scolded her.
"I'd say that staring contest ended in a very good tie." Marissa judged. We all laughed and Casey put his arm around my shoulder. And I leaned into him. And that's how we stayed for the rest of lunch.
