Lorelai woke up smiling, she was wearing nothing but her engagement and wedding rings. She was cuddled deep in the lavish king sized bed under the incredibly soft duvet. "Luke?" She called out when she noticed he wasn't in the bed. As she pulled further into consciousness she found a note on Luke's pillow.

"Good Morning!

I went for a run. I should be back around 9:30.

Love,

Your Husband"

Lorelai tucked the note into a book she was reading, she had to keep the first note he signed as 'Your Husband'. Then she hurried to the washroom to shower and get ready for the day. She was dreaming in the shower about how perfect her quickly planned wedding went off. She never imagined that the most typical and traditional moments would be the ones that really made her heart sing. Walking down the aisle with Father and their dance, it was moments she was never sure she would have with him and now it brings tears of joy to her eyes. The quiet smiles she shared with her Mother, the silent way that Emily showed her approval was something that Lorelai always told herself she didn't need, but now she knew she was wrong.

She was thinking about all her friends coming together at the last minute and giving her and Luke the best day ever, she was so proud to live in Stars Hollow and this amazing community. She was completely lost in thought and didn't notice that Luke had entered the bathroom.

"Hey, are you almost done, or can I join you?" He asked as he peeked into the curtain.

She jumped, "Jesus, Mary and Joseph, you scared the hell out of me!"

Luke chuckled, "Sorry."

"Don't just say sorry, get in here and show me!"

Luke slipped into the shower and with that choice, breakfast was pushed to brunch.

After eating, Lorelai called Rory to check in, "How's my busy bee of a daughter."

"Oh my God, I'm so glad you called. I didn't want to bother you on your honeymoon," Rory practically screamed.

"What's wrong? I've been gone for like two days, how do you have an emergency already?"

Rory laughed, "Not so much an emergency, just something I really needed to bounce off of you."

Rory then explained that Jess came over and the short conversation they had, and she read Jess' letter and then the Pro Con list that she made with Lane's help.

"Okay I get that you pushed Logan to be exclusive so you would feel guilty about pulling back. But Honey, you're young and it is perfectly normal to be interested in more than one guy, or not sure what type of guy you want to be with. The Pro Con list seems to imply that you and Jess have things in common and that you want to see what's there."

Rory sighed, knowing her Mom was right. "But I have all these plans for the Summer, I'm working at two papers and the bookstore and I'm getting in great quality time with Lane, I can't just up and leave, even for the few weeks he suggested."

"You know, just because that's what he suggested doesn't mean that's how it has to go. Why not suggest a counter offer? Maybe you can spend a few weekends together, or maybe he can come to the Hollow instead of you going to him. There's room for him over the Diner especially since Luke is now living in our home." Lorelai paused and realized how natural and wonderful it felt to say 'their home', hers and Luke's.

"Wow," Rory said as if reading her mother's mind, "You're married. To Luke. You guys have YOUR home now." She sounded almost proud, "How does it feel?"

"It feels weird that it doesn't feel weird at all. We've only been married for a few days, but it seems so normal that the idea of not being married feels weird now. Like what the hell did we wait so long for?"

Rory exhaled, "Who cares? All that matters is that you're here now, exactly where you should be, together."

Lorelai smiled, knowing how happy her daughter was with Luke being her Step-Father just made being married to Luke that much better.

"So, did I help you?" Lorelai asked.

"Yeah, you really did. Thanks Mom."

"Good. Don't hesitate to call again, if I'm occupied I won't answer, but please don't feel you can't call. Or text, you told me you wanted me to learn texting."

"Okay, I'll stay in touch, I promise. Tell Luke I said hi."

"Will do. Love you, Kid."

"Love you too."

As soon as Rory hung up she began making another list and outlined a proposal. She then made notes for the conversation she needed to have with Logan.

A few days later Luke and Lorelai were immersed in the Honeymoon bliss. Each day they found a new place to wander together, a park, a small town, along the beach, anywhere. They would walk, holding hands or linked arms, talking and laughing or simply taking in the sites in silence. Luke would go for a run each morning while Lorelai would take her time waking up and deal with her morning sickness. Once Luke found what helped her, he made sure there were apples, saltines and gum with them at all times. They spent the two weeks away very wrapped up in being a couple, they knew that once they got back home that their lives would never be the same. The town would be all over them, they would soon announce the pregnancy and then they would never get a moments' peace. One of their favourite things to do over these past few days were finding cute, unique places to buy things for their new home. Lorelai was excited to do what she could to make it less 'Twickham house' and more The Gilmore-Danes Home. Luke had done so many renovations while working with Taylor to keep the integrity of the house. The brick was painted midnight blue and he sculpted some animals into the columns promising his wife she could name them all.

Their last full day on their Honeymoon they found a small town and made sure to buy souvenirs for the few people left on Lorelai's list. They had lunch in a small diner and then took a last walk on the beach.

"I'm going to miss having you all to myself," Lorelai smiled as she rested her head on Luke's shoulder, her arm linked through his.

"Me?" Luke laughed, "You're the one with a parade of friends and events that you occupy yourself with, I'm the hermit so I'm all yours."

"Yeah, but you really like to spend so much time at that Diner of yours."

Luke scoffed, "Yeah, silly me wanting to pay the bills."

"Just promise me when the baby comes you'll give Caesar more hours and responsibility so I can have you with me."

"Just try to stop me! I'm excited to do this whole parent thing with you."

"I'm going to remind you of this conversation when we're dealing with three am feeding, diaper rash or colic."

Just then there was a loud crack and rain suddenly started pouring down on them. Lorelai squealed and started to run back to the hotel. But Luke grabbed her hand and pulled her to his chest making her very confused.

"What are you doing?"

Luke smiled down at her, "Dance with me."

Her smile lit up her face, her eyes shining up at him, "Since when did you become so romantic?"

They were swaying in each other's arms, grinning like fools. "Are you saying I haven't been romantic these past few weeks? I bought you our dream house."

"You're right. But dancing in the rain?"

"Just for a few minutes. I don't want you to catch a cold. But the way you love the snow, I love the rain."

"Really?" She asked excitedly, hoping to get the story.

"Well maybe not the same way, you are a little nutso about it."

"You just called your wife nutso!"

They laughed together and kissed. Then they made their way back to the hotel grabbing some towels at the front desk before heading up to their room. While Lorelai took a hot shower Luke ordered room service and they spent their last night alone in their room just as newlyweds do.

The next morning they woke happily in each other's arms. Lorelai packed the last few things around the room and her mind drifted to Stars Hollow and she wondered what happened between Rory and Jess. Sookie had reported seeing Jess around town when Lorelai had called to check in. But she hadn't heard from Rory since their talk about Jess' letter. She hoped that Rory wasn't doing anything stupid and that's why she hadn't heard from her. Lorelai had finally gotten her love life right, she just prayed her daughter wouldn't take as long as she did to be smart about who she loved.

Rory was finishing up her burger at Luke's when Jess came in from the apartment upstairs. She didn't notice him so he grabbed the coffee pot and refilled her cup. She looked up and smiled when she saw it was him.

"Thanks, how did you know that I needed more coffee?"

"That's just a safe bet at any given time," he smirked at her with a twinkle in his eye. "How's the research coming?" He sat at the table with her.

"Really good, thank you so much for that contact in Philly! Did you finish your chapter yet?"

"Yeah, if you want to proofread it, I'll print you a copy."

Rory looked up at him and smiled, "I would love to!"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah!"

"I'll be right back," he smiled and hurried off upstairs.

She went back to her notes when her cell rang, she answered without looking at the caller ID assuming it was her Mom, "Hello?"

"Rory, I'm in New York and was hoping we could meet and talk."

"Logan!" Rory exclaimed. She got up from the table and took the phone outside. "I thought we agreed to give each other the Summer to do our own thing and meet up in September."

"We did."

"Have you looked at a calendar? It's not even in July yet. Look, I know you care about me. I really care about you too. But I have this connection to Jess, and - "

"Rory, we could be so good together, we ARE so good together! I took you to meet my family! I know you were hurt by my family, especially my Dad, but you have to know that's not me, you know I hate them, right?! You and I, I mean we talk, laugh, and I can tell you real things. Your grandparents love me, and I think your grandparents are right, we could be a power couple. We could take one of my family's papers and make it our own."

"Logan, I'm twenty, I'm not looking for a husband or someone to plan out my future for me. And I thought you wanted nothing to do with your family's businesses."

"I would do it for you!"

"You would resent me!"

Logan exhaled, "I won't resent you, PLEASE. Just meet me in person and let's talk."

"I can't," Rory sighed. "Look, give me a few days, okay? I'll call you and we'll figure out a time to meet up. I just need a few days. My Mom is due back from her honeymoon tonight."
"Yeah, sure. Call me in a few days."
