Episode 25: Pups Save Ryder's Robot! Robo-Dog On A Rampage!

November 30th, 2029

A nice, brisk fall breeze flowed through the air as Alex, Rocky, and Ryder were working on the seventeen year old's newest invention. It was the mechanical dog that they had been working on for a long time. Ryder had intended for this computerized canine to follow orders, drive the PAW Patroller for Ben, and also possibly help out in rescues if things got dire.

"I've wired it all up!" Alex announced as he closed a maintenance hatch.

"Is it working, Ryder? I hope it works!" Rocky yipped.

"I think so… all that's left is to test it out. Robo-dog. Walk." Ryder mused, before giving an order.

The robot dog began to slide forwards, moving its legs in a linear fashion. "Yes! Robo-Dog is actually walking! Sit!" Ryder exclaimed excitedly, before giving another command.

The robot let out a computerized bark before stopping and haunching down on its hindquarters. "He takes commands perfectly! That's amazing!" Ryder cheered.

Rubble and Skye walked up to check out the animatronic animal. "Cool robot, Ryder!" Skye complimented.

"Thanks Skye. I just finished him! Let's try having him dig now!" Ryder replied, before giving Robo-Dog more instructions.

The metal mutt dug a hole into the backyard, before emerging from Zuma's puphouse. "WHOA! Where did you come from!? Why is a wobot invading my puphouse!?" Zuma asked as the digitized dog made him run out of his home.

"Sorry Zuma! That's Robo-Dog. I had him dig, but apparently he did it too well. Ben can fix up your puphouse!" Ryder reassured. Then, he put Robo-Dog into flight mode, which ended successfully.

"IT CAN FLY!? No way!" Skye gasped. Marshall came up and saw the robot dog, grinning as he met a new friend. "What else can it do, Ryder?" The spotted canine asked.

"It should run really fast! Want to see how fast it can go?" Ryder chuckled.

"Sounds like a challenge! No robot can outrun me! I'll totally take that challenge! Get ready to race, Robo-Dog!" Marshall giggled, getting into a position so he could take off at a moment's notice.

Chase got his megaphone out and had the two get to the grass. "ON YOUR BARK… GET SET… GO!" Chase announced.

Ryder pressed a button on the remote and the two pups took off. Marshall was initially winning, but looked at Robo-Dog instead of in front of him and ended up tripping, getting stuck in a tree. Robo-Dog pushed him out of it, before Ryder turned the robot's 'turbo mode' on.

The robot was barely able to beat Marshall in the end, even with the help of the turbo mode. Only because Marshall tripped once more did the robot beat the dalmatian. Marshall was sent flying into Ryder, and the spiky haired teen accidentally fell on Robo-Dog. The antenna was bent and broken, sparks flying from the metal mutt. "OH NO! The wiring must have gotten crossed, Ryder!" Alex cried out in horror.

"And the antenna is bent! We can't control him now!" Rocky groaned.

Robo-Dog began to dig holes all over the yard, before disappearing. Five minutes later, there was a call from Mayor Goodway. "Ryder, help. Someone's peculiar pet pooch has gone positively punchy!" Mayor Goodway shrieked.

"Um… is that pet pooch kind of metallic looking?" Ryder asked, a bit ashamed of himself.

"As a matter of fact, he does look quite robotic! What makes you ask that question?!" Mayor Goodway replied.

Ryder frowned, a little embarrassed at this. "That's… my Robo-Dog. It's kind of… a little… out of control." Ryder nervously answered.

"O-OUT OF CONTROL!? You have to get control of your machine, Ryder!" Mayor Goodway shouted.

"Don't worry, Mayor Goodway. We'll stop Robo-Dog, and help clean up the mess. No job is too big, no pup is too small! Be it robot or real!" Ryder assured her, before pulling his pup pad open and pressing the multicolored button.

"PAW Patrol, to the Lookout!" Ryder called out as he climbed the stairs to the control room.

Ben was currently in the control room adding new parts and tech to his suit, so he didn't see the summons. Marshall and Rocky bounded up to the Lookout.

"Watch your step, Rocky! You don't want to fall in a- WHOA!" Marshall started to say, before he fell into a hole.

"Hole?" Rocky giggled, finishing Marshall's sentence for him.

"WATCH OUT!" Zuma yelled as the rest of the pups tried to screech to a halt, but bumped into each other and they all rolled into the Lookout elevator.

"And that is how we roll!" Marshall joked.

Alex was the only one who giggled at that. "That's a Marshall classic!" The wolf cub cackled as the glass sliding doors for the lobby closed.

The elevator started to rise up and take them to the control room, stopping at the halfway point so that the mechanical arms could extend and dress the pups in their gear. Once they were all outfitted up, the elevator resumed its ascension to the top of the tower, and the glass doors slid open. The pups saw Ben with his Ranger suit on a table, and Ryder standing next to the monitor with a bit of a guilty expression on his face.

The glass doors then glided open, and the seven pups leapt out to line up in front of Ryder. "PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder, sir!" Chase reported.

"Thanks for getting here so quickly. We all saw what happened to Robo-Dog. It's broken and now it's going haywire all over town. We have to stop it before it causes any more problems." Ryder announced. Ben stopped working on his suit and then glared at Ryder.

"Hold on… you're telling me that OUR robot that we made to pilot the Paw Patroller is now going haywire and causing problems all over town!?" Ben shouted.

Ryder laughed in embarrassment and rubbed the back of his head. "Y-yeah… sorry Ben." Ryder apologized. Ben groaned before shaking his head and going back to working on his suit.

Ryder then resumed the mission debriefing. "Robo-Dog's already been spotted and has made a big mess at Mr. Porter's restaurant and City Hall. When we catch it, there's an off switch on its pup tag. If we turn Robo-Dog off, I can try to fix it. Skye, with your helicopter and goggles, you should be able to locate it in no time. Rocky, I need you to help us build something, so we can catch it. The rest of you, please help clean up the mess that our processed pal is making around town. Rubble, since you're still healing, you need to stay here." Ryder instructed.

"Let's take to the skies!" Skye yipped, doing a backflip.

"Green means go!" Rocky yelled.

"Chase is on the case!" The German Shepherd declared.

"Let's dive in!" Zuma chanted.

"I'm fired up for a ruff ruff rescue!" Marshall proclaimed.

"Light or dark, I've got the spark!" Alex howled.

"ALL RIGHT! Paw Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder cheered as he started sliding down the pole to the garage.

The rest of the pups took the slide to their pupmobiles. Once they were all out of earshot, Ben started grumbling to himself. "Robots cause nothing but problems, if you ask me. We can have it help with rescues, he said. It can drive the Paw Patroller and our Air Patroller, he said. You won't have to drive it anymore, he said. Well, it's only caused problems so far. I don't mind driving the van and flying the plane." Ben complained as he added more to his rescue armor, staying behind and not going with them on this rescue.

As Ryder and the others went around town, Ryder spotted Robo-Dog heading to the water tower. The metallic mutt flew over the water tower, thankfully, but then he then flew through Katie's salon wall and ceiling. Zuma was helping clean up the fruit scattered by Mr. Porter, when Robo-Dog came and crashed through the fruit stand. This undid all of their hard work! Ryder, Rocky, and Alex walked up to Mr. Porter's cafe. "Have you seen Robo-Dog?" Ryder asked.

"You could say that…" Mr. Porter sighed as he looked in the direction that the canine had flown.

"HE WENT THAT WAY!" Zuma exclaimed. Skye zoomed in with her goggles and gasped as she saw their robot flying towards her.

"RYDER! Your robot's out here, and he's flying right for me!" Skye yelped nervously.

"Guide him to Alex's van! Our electrician has a plan!" Ryder told her.

"I'll do my best! It's flying time!" Skye shouted as she started to fly lower, and Robo-Dog flew after her.

She kept flying lower and lower until the copter was nearly hitting the ground, and she was heading straight for Alex's purple electrician van. "I really hope this works!" Skye whimpered nervously as she got closer and closer.

"Skye, now! UP!" Alex yelled, and the cockapoo pilot swerved upwards.

"JUMPER CABLES!" Alex snarled. Clips emerged from the front of his van, and cables shot outwards, with a second pair of clips latching themselves onto Robo-Dog. Pressing the lightning bolt button on his vehicle, Alex delivered a powerful current of electricity and sent it through Robo-Dog's systems, overloading it and causing the metallic mutt to shut down.

Ryder scratched his head as he approached the fallen animatronic. "That… was a bit different than what my original plan was, Alex. I was going to have Rocky use his catapult to launch a magnet onto Robo-Dog, and have Skye grab the magnet with her helicopter's hook." Ryder told the wolf cub.

"Robo-Dog could have caused a lot more problems if that plan didn't work. He'll need repairs, but the town of Adventure Bay won't be troubled by that monster anymore." Alex spoke.

The other pups looked around hesitantly before nodding their heads. "I liked Robo-Dog too… but he did make a huge mess for us to clean up." Marshall pointed out.

"Robo-Dog was cool, but I think he should have some more tests done before we take him for another test run. We should modify the controls, maybe add a remote shutdown, voice commands, and other stuff. Sorry Ryder." Rocky apologized.

"Robo-Dog was great… but I'll have to fix him another day." Ryder sighed. He knew that Robo-Dog would be a valuable asset for the team. He just had to do some more tinkering. Maybe not for a while though…
