Summary: At seventeen years of age, Atreus and his father found themselves in another realm, one that was unfortunately filled with the less crazy, but irritating versions of the gods they had slain. Can they live their life in peace? Or the supernatural world of DxD will be forced to know the full might of THE God of War? Atreus will try to make sure that won't happen… anytime soon at least.

The story will focus on Atreus, with Kratos being a side-character most of the time.

Son of War

Chapter 5

"So basically, the one that I killed is a stray exorcist?"

"Uhm hum. If he's with the fallen angels, then he's probably a stray exorcist." Aphrodite nodded her head, smiling as she turned around and tapped the whiteboard that she was using to explain the situation to Atreus while the two of them were in his room. It had the drawings of God of the bible, a man with a halo above his head, his angels and the fallen angels, stick men with different colors wings on their backs, and the exorcists and stray exorcists, people wearing clerical robes.

Overall, the entire thing looked like the drawing of a five year old child.

"Normal exorcists are those who receive God's blessing to perform exorcisms in the name of their justice. This group of exorcists borrow the power of God and angels to eliminate devils and other supernatural beings if necessary."

Aphrodite continued as she pointed her whiteboard marker toward the drawing of the exorcist group beneath the angels with white wings before switching over to the other group on the other side of the board, beneath the fallen angels.

"And the other type are the stray exorcists. I have heard that exorcism is a sacred ceremony that is performed in the name of God, but sometimes, some exorcists start to enjoy the act of killing, and make it their life purpose. Then, without exception, they are all expelled from the Church, or even eliminated if they have stepped too far from the lines."

As she finished explaining that, Aphrodite turned around and put a hand on her hips, looking all professional with black hair (which she had changed magically from platinum blonde using her power) and a pair of glasses with narrow, rectangular lenses. She was dressed in a tight, two piece, dark blue suit that hugged the erotic curves of her body, consisting of only a pinstripe jacket with one single button at her stomach, exposing her midriff and the full creamy inner slopes of her enormous breasts, and a split-side pencil miniskirt that was so short it was only half an inch down from her round, bubble ass, complemented by thigh high black stockings and garter belts.

If one didn't know any better, they would think she was a stripper or a pornstar, instead of a goddess of the highest order.

"Do these stray devils normally attack humans related to devils too?" Atreus asked with a gesture of his hand to the board.

"It's rare, but I think it does happen from time to time. It's a matter of moral code, I believe." Aphrodite answered his question with a nod "Normal exorcists will always follow strict rules taught to them by their superiors, and they will try to avoid collateral damage on their ways as much as they can. Stray exorcists, however, are no longer bound by those rules and free to do whatever they want, sometimes it goes too far like the one you met."

"Nonetheless, they are well known to bond with fallen angels, those who have abandoned God's teaching like them, but still retain their light power as an angel, which is without a doubt the most effective and deadliest power against the devils, their common enemies. By working together, you won't find a deadlier and more troublesome enemy than them if you are a devil."

"I see."

Atreus nodded, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. So the relationship between the three fallen angels remaining in Kuoh and the stray exorcists (who knew how many of them there were) was strictly business, as they shared a common enemy in the devil. However, that brought him to his next question, which he then wasted no time to ask Aphrodite.

"What about the sisters? They can be expelled from the Church too, right?"

The young god asked, remembering the girl who was with Freed and the fallen angels, wondering why such an innocent looking girl was doing with them, even though Kalawarna, the blue haired fallen angel, seemed to genuinely care for her. He knew that he could not judge a book by its cover, but the girl definitely did not look like a killer to him.

"Quite possibly, yes, if they have done something that their superiors deem unforgivable." Aphrodite answered with a shrug. "In fact, do you know that the original high class devil governing this town before the sisters of Lucifer and Leviathan, Cleria Belial, was in love with a member of the Protestant Church, a man named Masaomi Yaegaki?"

"Really?" Atreus raised an eyebrow in surprise before he asked, quite teasingly as he already knew the answer "How do you know that?"

"I am the goddess of love, boy. I just know." Aphrodite stated smugly, making Atreus chuckle in amusement before Aphrodite's smile flipped upside down as she continued. "Anyway, their love story ended quite tragically. They were both killed by the alliance of some old devils and the leaders of the Church."

"Wait what?"

"I believe it's one of the only times that the two factions, or at least just the minorities of them, have ever worked together on something since the dawn of time. Their alliance was short, but it did do the job." Aphrodite said. Atreus did not need to use his power to know that she was annoyed, and quite angry too "The love between a church member and a devil was forbidden, they said. Cleria and Masaomi were such a cute couple too." The love goddess finished, throwing her hands in the air to express her frustration.

Atreus decided it's best for him to not say anything. However, he couldn't help but think about it. From what Rias had told him, a pureblood devil was treasured greatly by their society, not to mention that half of the 72 Pillars had been wiped in the Great War, leaving them in a state where they could not risk losing any more of their pureblood members. Would they come to the decision to just kill off Cleria because she was in love with an enemy of theirs? Surely there had to be another reason.

Moreover, judging from the look of things, it seemed Issei liked that nun, who appeared to have taken a liking to him as well.

Was history repeating itself? Was it just a coincidence? Or was it fate?

"Well? Is there anything else you wish to know?" Aphrodite asked, breaking Atreus out of his musing. The young god blinked and looked at her, who seemed to have returned to her normal playful and sultry self, standing there with a seductive smile on her face as she had one hand on her hips while the other was played with the lapel of jacket, moving it slightly to the side to flash him even more of her creamy breasts.

"Nah, that's all for now. And before you start trying anything, no, I will not have sex with you today, woman. Questions are not favors." Atreus said with a smug grin as he stood up and then walked over to his desk to grab his backpack, making Aphrodite pout and put her hands on her hips. It was Sunday so Atreus did not have school, but it's not like he had anything else more interesting to do at home, especially when his father had left for another three day business trip again, so Atreus had decided to head over to Kuoh Academy to meet up with Rias and her servants, knowing that the group would be there for their weekend devil jobs.

When he reached his desk, Atreus could see that he had left his backpack next to his new bow, shortened and disguised in the form of a simple wooden grip. After a moment of thought, Atreus grabbed it and unzipped his backpack to put it inside, having the feeling that he would need it with him a lot more than before.

"You know, for someone who is trying to be discreet and live a peaceful life, you sure do know how to get yourself into trouble, don't you?" Aphrodite suddenly asked, making Atreus turn around to look at her. "Well, it's not exactly trouble, but you know what I mean, right?"

"I do." Atreus said simply as he zipped up his backpack and flung it over his shoulder "But at the same time, I can't just sit back and do nothing either, not when I have the power to help those in need."

"So lemme guess, you are trying to become Atreus, god of help?"

"You know that I am also Loki, god of mischief, right?" Atreus asked with a chuckle before continuing "Ah well, you can say that I like to help people, whoever that is in need. Father said that part I took after my mother, who wished to help those in need, without any personal benefit."

"She sounded like an amazing woman." Aphrodite couldn't help but say in admiration. She had never gotten the chance to get to know the Laufey of her world, but she doubted she, or even any Giant, would be like Atreus' mother.

"She was." Atreus said, smiling fondly at the memories of his mother before he turned around to leave his room. Aphrodite left shortly after that, feeling more and more curiosity toward the Loki from another world.

A god who wanted to help people, asking for nothing back in return? Now that's a first even for someone who had met many gods, and lived as long as she had.

Break

"No! Absolutely not!"

Was the first that Atreus heard when he walked into the clubroom that afternoon and saw Rias standing in front of Issei with a disapproving look.

"Woah, have I come at a bad time?"

Atreus asked with a small chuckle, faking a surprised expression as the members of the Occult Research Club turned to look at him. It's not that hard for Atreus to figure out what's going on between them, but technically Rias and her servants did not know that he knew about their little faceoff against Freed, who's now probably six feet underground – if his comrades cared about him enough to give the mentally twisted bastard a proper burial – so Atreus had to act like he didn't know what's going on.

It would be fine if they found out though. Explaining to them how he was able to crack their teleportation magic to follow them was the problem that Atreus wished to avoid.

"Atreus, it's…"

Before Rias could finish saying anything to the newest member of her occult research club, Issei had cut her off, stepping forward with a look of frustration as he spoke to his master.

"Buchou, please let me go save her!"

"How many times do I have to tell you, Issei? No! I will not allow it." Rias crossed her arms and told him firmly.

"But Asia is my friend!" Issei reasoned, but Rias looked like she had already made up her mind.

Atreus was left to stand there to watch the proceedings while pondering if he should interfere, until he felt a light tap on his shoulder and turned to the side to see Akeno standing next to him, making a gesture with her hand to silently tell him to follow her. The young god did just that, allowing Akeno to drag him to her corner, where she then explained to him everything that had happened and more (most of which he had already known).

Apparently, Issei met Asia again earlier this morning, and hung out with her for the entire day before he was attacked by one of the fallen angels who had come to retrieve Asia, making Issei want to go rescue her from them because he believed that whatever they were trying to do, Asia would lose her life in the process.

"Dammit, Issei!" Rias suddenly snapped, causing the brown-haired boy to widen his eyes in surprise while looking nervously at his master "You just don't get it at all, do you!? The reason why I am not letting you go to the church to rescue that girl is because you will be killed the moment you face any of those fallen angels in battle! I don't want something like that to happen to you!"

"But Dohnaseek said something about a ceremony that would take away all her pain and fear today! Asia also said goodbye to me after we promised to be friends forever! It's possible that Asia will be killed, and that's something I can't allow to happen!"

"I don't care." Rias shook her head and said "So long as you are a member of my peerage, I won't allow you to do something so reckless and dangerous."

"Then you can just disown me then!" Issei cried out, looking like he was on the verge of a breakdown. Even Atreus could not help but feel for the boy. "I'll go save Asia on my own… it's not like you will lose anything if you..."

"Enough!" Rias snapped again, but this time, it was in a low tone, with an aura of red swirling around her. The sight of his master finally losing her temper caused Issei to actually back off immediately, looking quite nervous but still couldn't help but grit his teeth in frustration. Issei glared at him for a long moment of silence before taking a deep breath, allowing herself to calm down somewhat to continue "Now listen here, Issei, you will…"

But the crimson haired girl was interrupted once again, but this time, it was by Atreus himself, who had walked over her and put a hand on the girl's shoulder while standing between her and Issei.

"I think that's enough, Rias." He said with a small smile "I won't claim to know everything that's going on, but I can see that he has already made up his mind. That girl has also become someone important to him, so nothing you say will change it." He said, looking at Issei to see the brown haired young man looking at him in surprise, before nodding his head firmly to confirm his word.

"But I cannot let him go. He will get himself killed before he can even get anywhere close to that church." Rias reasoned, her tone softening somewhat as she looked at Atreus "Not to mention that he's a servant of mine. His actions can have a major effect on the already strained relationship between Devils and Fallen Angels. Attacking them right now can even be considered a declaration of war by many."

"Then let me go with him."

Rias became speechless at that, as she and her servants looked at Atreus in surprise.

"But why?" After a moment of silence, Rias asked the question in everyone's mind, looking at Atreus unsurely for the first time since he first stepped foot into her clubroom. "Why do you want to help? You don't have to."

"Well, I certainly want to lend a hand in this matter. It's not like a perv like Issei can just find another girl who genuinely likes him like that nun, can't he?"

"Hey!"

Atreus simply ignored Issei when the boy reacted to his statement about him as he walked over to his backpack and picked it up before continuing.

"Also, I don't belong to any side in this conflict, so my action will probably not matter much. If anyone asks, I will just have to tell them that I accidentally stumbled into the base of a hostile group, and was forced to defend myself against them."

He shrugged with a humorous chuckle, remembering the one reason he and his father had for their fighting during their first adventure together was simple self-defense.

"I believe that's true." Rias couldn't help but say, nodding her head and agreeing to Atreus' logic.

"Moreover, I did warn Azazel that if he didn't do anything about his fallen angels, I would." He then pointed out, reminding them of what he had done after sending Raynare back to Azazel "So maybe it's time I come knocking on their door to find out what they are really trying to accomplish here, and put a stop to it."

"Then…"

"I will come with you." Atreus cut Issei off as he grabbed his bow from his backpack, making Rias and the others look at it curiously "However, I will only help you save the girl on one condition."

"What is it then?" Issei asked, knowing every second he wasted arguing would be another second Asia's life was endangered.

"You will ask no question, and do nothing unless I tell you so, even if the girl's life is in grave danger." He spoke firmly, pointing the wooden grip of his sealed weapon at Issei, making the boy widen his eyes in surprise. Even Rias was quite shocked at the calmness and the strong authority in his tone. It was as if the Atreus she was seeing now was a completely different person than the kind young man that she and everyone had grown fond of. "You will do as I say, and you will follow my orders. If you can do that, I promise you I will keep you alive, and get that girl out in one piece. Can you do that?"

"I…" Issei spoke up unsurely, but quickly made up his mind. For an unknown reason, he felt like he could trust Atreus on this one, even though he was worried sick for Asia and didn't know what he was going to do if her life was in danger, or how the third year was going to help him save her with that wooden stick in his hand "I can."

"Good." Atreus said, nodding his head to Issei before he looked at the others "Now, let's not waste any more time here. Where is this church that you guys spoke of?"

Break

"Well, that place certainly has a sinister feel to it…"

Atreus said, as he hid in the shadow of an alleyway and leaned his head out just a little to take a peek at the church on the other side of the street. At the same time, Issei was standing behind him, shivering a little. Rias had told him beforehand that despite the church being abandoned, it still held enough holy aura to make a young devil like Issei nervous, so fear had very little to do with his shivering.

"Any idea where she can be in there?" Atreus then asked, turning back to look at Issei, figuring that the boy would be more familiar with the interior of a church than him.

"Ah, Kiba gave me this before we left." Issei said as he took out what appeared to be the map of the church and spread it out on the wooden box beside them, giving Atreus a much clearer look at the church "Apparently, Akeno-san keeps things like this around in case of emergency."

"She's well prepared." Atreus nodded, understanding Akeno's reason as understanding the battlefield was just as important as understanding the enemies "What is this room?" the young god then asked after carefully examining the map, pointing his hand at what appeared to be the biggest room of the place.

"I think it's the sanctuary." Issei answered him, despite not feeling so sure himself.

"So it can be the place where they will perform this ceremony that you spoke of." Atreus then said and folded the map up before giving it to Issei "We can surely get there in no time at all."

"Yeah." Issei nodded, feeling a bead of sweat running down the side of his face. Folding up the map and giving it back to the reincarnated devil, Atreus then turned around and made his way out of the alley with the wooden grip in his hand extending into the full bow, causing Issei to look at it in surprise before his attention was shifted over to the quiver that appeared on the older boy's back.

"Senpai, I met this stray exorcist a couple of days ago with Asia." Issei then said, as he made his sacred gear appear on his arm while following behind Atreus, who gave it a glance before turning his eyes back to the church before them. "Do you think that there's more of them in there?"

"Certainly."

"Are they going to try to stop us?"

"Definitely."

Atreus answered simply and drew an arrow from the quiver, just as the front door of the building swung wide open, revealing a group of stray exorcists, whose eyes widened when they saw the two of them.

"Morning gentlemen, mind showing us what you guys are doing in there?" Atreus asked, smiling in a friendly manner as he waved the arrow in his hand around like a person waving their hand at other people.

There was a second of silence between the two parties, as the group of stray exorcists stared at them in disbelief, before one seemed to recognize Issei and realize he was a devil. Before he could reach for his gun, Atreus had already acted first, firing an arrow at his shoulder with so much force that he was sent flying back into the church.

It was at that moment that all hell broke loose.

"Stay close to me, Issei!" Atreus spoke loudly, and shot his hand out to grab the exorcist, throwing himself at them by his collar before lifting him up as if he did not waste a single pound and smashing his head against the side of the gate when he and Issei were trying to cross it.

Tossing the unconscious body exorcist down, Atreus then twirled his bow around to deflect a light bullet, much to the shock of the exorcists that had appeared around the courtyard, and quickly nocked another arrow, using it to take down the enemy standing on the rooftop before he could fire again.

Two exorcists then charged at him and Issei from the sides, their weapons of light in hands, ready to cut them both down, but Atreus simply spun around and pushed Issei back with a hand to his chest, causing the boy to lose his balance and fall on his ass, avoiding being cleaved into two by the one trying to attack him. Atreus then sidestepped the blade that went for his head himself, before using the momentum of his movement to smash the upper limb of his bow against the handle of the exorcist's light weapon, having watched enough Star Wars to not think about testing the durability of his weapon against those light weapon at this time.

The force of his attack caused the exorcist to cry grunt in pain and drop his weapon, before blindly charging at Atreus with his punches and kicks, only for the young god to deflect it with his own attacks, before throwing his knee up to kneel the exorcist hard in the throat, sending him flying back with blood flowing from his mouth. Twirling around, Atreus then crouched down low to avoid the light blade of the stray exorcist that had tried to attack Issei, with an arrow that he was aiming at his chest.

Without a moment of hesitation, Atreus let go of the string of his bow, and allowed the arrow to pierce through the man's chest, launching him into the air before dropping dead on the stairs of the church.

Issei was left to sit there and watched in both shock and amazement, as Atreus took down three more exorcists in quick succession with his bow and arrows. He wouldn't claim to know anything about archery, but what Atreus was doing with his weapon was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Each arrow he shot with extreme precision and strength, capable of sending the enemies flying the moment they impaled into their chests and shoulders.

"These arrows… Freed, you are the one who killed…"

"Well, I guess you guys did check on your comrade." Atreus said simply, as he grabbed the guy by his face and smashed his head into the wooden pillar nearby, breaking them both in the process. Another one charged at him from the side, but Atreus did not even look at him as he shot him down and then advanced forward.

Issei swallowed heavily as he picked himself up and followed Atreus as he continued to carve a path of destruction for them both. He's still new to all these fighting stuff, but he could tell Atreus was a fearsome fighter just by looking at the way he was fighting without using his bow. He had only seen Kiba and Koneko, the two close range combatants of their group, in action against their enemies, so he did not know for sure, but even compared to them, Atreus just seemed to be on another level, appearing to be moving faster than Kiba and hitting harder than Koneko herself.

Moreover, the way he was beating those stray exorcists down, it was brutal… but at the same time, it was incredibly swift and effective.

"What the hell is …"

A fallen angel shouted angrily as she flew out of the church and stopped in midair to hover above them, though the last few words died in her throat when she saw the bodies lying around outside. She was a young girl with blonde hair styled into twintails and blue eyes, wearing a full set of gothic Lolita attire, which consisted of a black dress with white frills, a large black bow on the front, and a green jewel embedded on the collar, white thigh-high socks, and black shoes.

"You!" Mittelt snarled as she looked at Issei, who was standing by himself under her "You are that filthy devil we met earlier! Did you do this?"

"I…"

Before Issei could even finish saying anything, Mittelt was forced to dodge an arrow that was aimed at her head, snapping her entire body to the side just in time to cause it to miss its intended target, though it still grazed her cheek and drew some blood. Turning back while snarling angrily, the fallen angel prepared to kill whoever that dared to shoot at her, only to find herself widening her eyes in surprise when she saw Atreus right in front of her with his bow moving back at the ready to smash her in the face, which he did without even a moment of hesitation.

If the blow itself wasn't enough to knock her out, then the force of her crashing into the ground certainly did, as Mittelt was sent flying down hard enough that rocks and dirt exploded outwards from the center of impact, forcing Issei to cover his face with both of his arms. A few seconds later, the dust settled down and Issei was able to see that Atreus was already standing at the door of the church, waiting for yet another stray exorcist to emerge to punch him square in the face with enough force to make him flip around in midair before dropping.

"What are you standing there for?" Atreus spoke to Issei, making the brown haired boy nod his head at him before hurriedly following the older boy into the church, running up the staircase leading up to the inner sanctuary. Along the way, they ran into another group of stray exorcists, but Atreus made quick work of them with his arrows, shooting them down before they could even do anything with their own weapons. Since the place was already abandoned, Atreus also had no problem smashing them through the dirty and already broken statues and ornaments around him.

The moment they reached the sanctuary, however, Atreus widened his eyes when he heard a mechanical spinning sound, and spun around instantly to grab Issei by his collar and throw him over to the pillar on the right side of the room, as he himself dove over to the opposite direction and took cover behind a statue just in time to avoid being shredded to pieces by a barrage of light bullets being fired at them from above.

"Hurry up! Fire again! Kill them!" The fallen angel Dohnaseek shouted to his stray exorcist subordinate, who then unleashed another storm of light bullets at Atreus and Issei using the ground mounted minigun before him, causing them to dodge their heads down low as the bullets tore through their covers like nothing.

Dohnaseek also launched his own light spears at them, preventing Atreus from having an angel to shoot them both down as his subordinate reloaded. Two of these spears would have killed Issei when he was exposed behind his cover, if it weren't for Atreus who shot them and caused them to disappear in the air with his arrows, much to Dohnaseek's shock.

"Hey, Issei!" Firing an arrow at the fallen angel to distract him when the minigun had run out of bullets once again and forced its operator to start reloading, Atreus then shouted to Issei and rolled an object on the ground over to Issei, who widened his eyes when he saw that it was a light grenade their enemies carried around with them. "Get ready on my signal!"

"Wait, what?!" The brown haired boy asked in shock, but Atreus simply raised his index finger up as he leaned his back against his own cover, an arrow already nocking onto the string of his bow. "What am I supposed to do with this? When did you…?"

Issei tried to ask Atreus, but the older boy simply raised another finger, and then finally, the last one, just in time the stray exorcist operating the minigun finish reloading it.

"Ah fuck it."

With that said, Issei left his cover and ran as fast as his legs could carry him, causing Dohnaseek and his subordinate to turn their attention to the reincarnated devil, who then threw the grenade into the air toward them. As the stray exorcist began to refire his weapon, causing Issei to cry out in fear and dive behind a corner to dodge it, Dohnaseek reached out and tried to grab the grenade from the air, seeing that the safety pin was still intact.

Before he could do it, however, an arrow with arcs of lightning running through its shaft suddenly appeared and hit the explosive weapon, causing it to explode right in the fallen angel's face and blind the exorcist beneath him. As Dohnaseek tried to regain his balance in the air, Atreus leaped into the air and drop-kicked him the face, launching him toward his subordinate and knocking them both over.

Before either of them could pick themselves up, Atreus had landed in front of the minigun and kicked it, breaking its anchor points on the floor and sending it crashing into Dohnaseek, stunning him when it smashed against his face. Not letting up, Atreus then walked over to them, picked the minigun up and raised it high into the air like it was weightless before smashing it down the fallen angel chest.

Issei cringed at the sounds of ribs being broken in, and looked up to see Atreus standing over the bodies of the fallen angel Dohnaseek and his unconscious subordinate, already preparing for the next attack as he checked the door leading into what Issei remembered to be the living quarter of the church.

"Your friend is in there." Atreus said after Issei had climbed the stairs to come stand next to him "There's also only one of them left."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go save her."

Atreus nodded at that, and opened the door to walk in with Issei. The room was much smaller than the sanctuary outside, but it still had enough room for quite a few people.

"ASIA!" Issei shouted when he saw the blonde haired nun, who was only in her undergarment and chained up on a large metal cross with a large, magic circle on the floor beneath her. Standing at her side was the last fallen angel, the one with blue hair who was wearing a trench coat top that was opened at her chest, giving view to her breasts and cleavage "Just hang in there! I am going to save you." Spoke Issei determinedly as the green jewel of his sacred gear shone brightly. Asia smiled a little at him as she struggled to stay awake.

Atreus could see that the magic circle on the floor was draining her, but it did not appear to be draining her life, strength or anything like that, but rather…

"You! Did you already defeat Dohnaseek and Mittelt?" The blue haired fallen angel, whose name was Kalawarna, asked in shock as she snapped around to glare at them.

"What if we did?" Atreus asked as he raised his bow and aimed his arrow at her, making the fallen angel step back nervously "Your friends didn't stand a chance, so I doubt that you alone would have any. Just give up, and return the girl to us."

"You… why do you care? Do you realize what I am doing here?" The woman asked in frustration, gesturing her hand to Asia "This girl, her Sacred Gear is…" Before she could finish saying that, Atreus had let go of his arrow, letting it shoot forward and piercing through the woman's shoulder, sending her flying back and pinning her against the wall next to the cross holding Asia.

Crying out in pain, Kalawarna tried to pull the arrow out, but Atreus shot another one at the back of her hand, pinning it against her chest before he shot a third arrow at her other hand, pinning it against the wall as well, completely immobilizing her.

"That should do it." Atreus said, as he pulled out another arrow from his quiver and stepped forward to stab it down the magic circle beneath him, making it shine brightly before disappearing much to Kalawarna's shock. "There, you can grab the girl now, Issei."

"Hold on Asia, I will get you down." Issei said, and hurriedly ran over to his friend to untie her, who smiled weakly at him in relief.

"Issei-san…"

"How… how did you…" Kalawarna asked in shock as she looked at Atreus, having never seen anyone dispersing a spell as easily as he could. Blood was flowing out from her shoulders and the backs of her hands, as the fallen angel struggled to stay awake.

"It's easy once you understand how magic work. You just have to hit the right runes, with the right power." Atreus answered simply, as he twirled an arrow around in his hand. Though her vision was getting blurry, Kalawarna could see the head of his arrow glowing faintly "You were trying to take her sacred gear, weren't you? I guess that magic circle on the floor would have drawn it out of her and transferred it to you through that rune on your chest. Quite interesting magic you guys have. I didn't know it was possible." Kalawarna almost dropped her jaw in shock at that. How did he figure it out that fast?

Her eyes then widened in realization.

"It… it was you, wasn't it?" She asked, "You were the one who captured Raynare and sent her back to Azazel-sama."

"Guess I ruined your whole plan here, didn't I?"

Atreus chuckled, before he noticed a crimson magic circle appearing on the floor behind him. In a flash of light, the rest of the occult research club arrived, with Kiba and Koneko immediately heading out to help Issei bring Asia down. The boy was obviously struggling with the spell that was binding her against the cross, having no idea how to deactivate it.

"Ara, you were right, Buchou. Atreus-kun really can handle himself." Akeno spoke up with an amused giggle, looking at the fallen angel being pinned to the wall before looking at all the bodies lying outside.

"Glad to see that you guys come to our rescue, but we're done here." Atreus said simply as he put his arrow away, making Rias and Akeno look at it curiously "What made you change your mind?"

"Nothing. I am still against letting Issei come here to save that nun." Rias answered simply with a shrug of her shoulder. Though, Atreus could see that she looked somewhat relieved. "However, after you left, I called my brother, who in return contacted Azazel, the governor of Grigori. Apparently, these fallen angels are doing things here against his order, so we are free to do whatever we want with them."

"Well then, I guess there's nothing holding you back from helping Issei now, is there?" Atreus said, before he shot his hand out and grab Rias before she could continue to advance toward Kalawarna, who looked at her in fear.

"What are you doing?" Rias asked, looking at Atreus who simply smiled as he pushed her back to her Queen, who also had a look of surprise on her face as she gazed at Atreus.

"I know what you want to do, Rias." Atreus answered simply "But as I said earlier. We are done here. The woman and her comrades have been beaten. They lost. Not worth killing."

"What do you suggest we do with them then?" Rias asked, crossing her arms under her bust. The crimson haired girl looked like she wanted to argue, but decided she had no good reason to counter Atreus'.

"Send them back to her superior. You guys will find a gentleman looking fallen angel in the sanctuary outside, and a girl with blonde hair in the courtyard." He said, looking at Kiba and Koneko, who both nodded their heads at him in understanding before turning back to Rias "Let Azazel decide their fates himself. I am sure that by sparing their life and sending them back to him, your relationship with the fallen angels will improve a bit." In all honesty, he had no idea that it would, but he decided to suggest it anyway.

"Alright then." Rias nodded her head at him, relaxing finally as she nodded her head at Akeno and then looked back at the young man "You defeated them, Atreus, so naturally you have the power to decide what to do with them yourself. We will do as you wish on this matter."

"Great." Atreus then looked at Asia, who was resting peacefully in Issei's arms, and asked, remembering Aphrodite's story about Cleria, the former high class devil of Kuoh Town and her lover "What about her?"

"Well, if Issei is willing to go this far for her, then it'd be a crime to try to separate them now." Rias said with a shrug of her shoulders, making Atreus smile "I will talk to her once she is awake. For now, let her rest. She seems to have been having a rough time."

Break

In the end, after trusting Rias and her servants to take care of the rest, Atreus decided it's time for him to go home, taking a detour back to Kuoh Academy to grab his backpack before making his way home. It's already rather late, so his father was probably wondering where he was now… if he had already returned home before him.

As he approached his house, Atreus widened his eyes slightly in curiosity when he saw two people standing at the front gate of his house. One was a tall man appearing to be in his twenties, with an average build, black hair, golden bangs and black goatee. His outfit was a V-neck maroon long-coat with a wide, open high-collar that was opened up at the hem, featuring two black belts around the waist and four black bands on each arm, two of the bands at the wrist and the other two near the elbow. In addition, he also wore brown shoes.

The other person had the appearance of a middle-aged, gruff-looking man with black hair, matching beard and a muscular body. He was dressed in a dark green shirt and matching color pants, under a long cloak that wrapped around his shoulder and reached down to the back of his knees. Unlike his companion, who appeared relaxed, the man possessed a strong, warrior-like air about him, one that reminded Atreus of a seasoned warrior like his father.

And for an unknown reason, the man felt oddly familiar.

"Hello, how can I help you?" Atreus asked, deciding to be polite as he approached the two men "This is my home, sorry." He continued, gesturing his hand to the house behind them.

"Ah, is that so?" The black-blonde haired man asked, smiling broadly as he looked at Atreus while his companion gazed at him "Then you must be the one we have heard about from… well, a certain goddess of love. Seriously, that woman just showed up one day and she drove the boys nuts. I don't think we have ever run out of tissues before." The man laughed humorously, but Atreus decided to ignore him.

"So you must be Azazel then."

"You don't look surprised, kid."

"Well, you are the only one who can possibly show up at my house after I helped a young devil save his friend from a group of fallen angels, so yes, I am not surprised." Atreus said with a shrug as he walked past the two to stand in front of his house "Though, I don't know who the other guy is."

"Oh, this gruff looking fellow here is Baraquiel. He is also a leader of the fallen angels, like me." Azazel introduced, and the man gave Atreus a nod in response. So despite looking like he was ready to fight, the man had some politeness to his manner. "Nice to meet you, Atreus, we are here tonight to…"

"I know why you are here." Atreus interrupted, cutting the man off before he could finish "I also know why you didn't call Kalawarna and her little group back, or have someone come here to retrieve them with force even though I already sent Raynare to you and warned you about what they were doing here. You wanted to see how I was going to handle them and find out who I am, didn't you?"

Azazel chuckled, nodding his head but it was more to himself than to reply to Atreus. The kid was sharp… too sharp for someone his age.

"How did you figure that out?"

"You don't strike me for the responsible type." Atreus said, causing Azazel to look at him in mild shock while Baraquiel let out a snicker "But you are still the leader of your people. You have lived a very long life, and fought in a war that went on almost as long, so of course it'd be natural for me to assume there are reasons behind your actions. Unless of course, I give you too much credits."

"Hah! Gotta give it to you kid, you are a smart one." Azazel laughed, reaching his hand out to pat Atreus on his shoulder, but the young god simply flicked it away "So, can we come in? There are a few things we would like to talk…"

"No."

"Oh come on, don't you think that it's rather impolite to leave us out here and talk in the cold of the night?"

"No."

"Argh…" Azazel sweat-dropped, looking at Atreus who had a firm look on his face as he stared directly back at him. "So uhm, if you wish to…"

Chill!

At that instance, Azazel and Baraquiel instantly spun around when they felt a cold chill running down their spines, and found themselves facing the towering figure of a tall and muscular man, whose imposing appearance and overwhelming presence alone was enough to make them both back off in alarm. His large, but neatly trimmed beard hid his facial expression from view, but the nearby street light shone over the side of his face and let them see his sharp left eye that was looking directly at them as he just stood there… menacingly.

"Ah, welcome back, father." Atreus greeted his father simply, making Kratos grumble a little before nodding his head to his son. His eyes, however, did not leave the two men standing between him and Atreus for even a millisecond… and that's what made them feel worried, because it was as if any sudden movement from them would make him grab them by the neck and snap it like a twig. Judging by the titanic muscles of his arms and chest, straining against his oversized, quadruple XL sized shirt, both fallen angels had a feeling that he wasn't going to need his whole arms for that… just his hands alone would be enough.

What a scary looking father!

"Oh… wow, this is your father?" Azazel, who managed to regain his composure and courage, decided to greet the man in his usual lighthearted tone, with his hand extending forward. Baraquiel, meanwhile, was trying to maintain a tough front, but he was also sweating bullets "Please to meet you. My name is…"

"Leave… our… home."

Three simple words.

One simple sentence, but it wasn't a request…

It was an order.

"Understandable. Have a nice night, good sir!" Azazel said, his mouth working on autopilot. He and Baraquiel then tried to leave, but the two almost stumbled over each other while trying to avoid Kratos, who stood completely still and made no attempt from where he was standing. "It's a pleasure knowing you, young man. Let's meet again in the near future."

"Yeah, let's not." Atreus said simply before they both disappeared into the night, taking off with their wings appearing behind their backs.

Kratos then asked, stepping toward his son to open the door of their home "What are they?"

"Fallen angels, father." Atreus answered his father's question, making the man nod his head before heading into the house with him, leaving their shoes at the doorstep before the former god of war made his way into the living room. Atreus tried to follow him, but Kratos had spoken up before he could do it. "Grab the head, boy."

"Yes, sir!" Knowing all too well who he was referring to, Atreus walked into the kitchen and picked up Mimir after the two of them had shared some light greeting, carrying the smartest man alive into the kitchen where Kratos had already taken his seat on the couch, holding in his hand the bottle of nectar Aphrodite had given to Atreus a few days ago "Are we going to drink that finally, father?

"We are." Kratos said, as he grabbed two cups from the table and filled them up with the liquor inside the bottle, one for him and one for his son.

Atreus, who put Mimir down the table beside them, took his seat on the couch facing his father, and grabbed his cup when his father offered it to him. The smell was still as strong as he remembered.

Holding his breath, Atreus then brought the cup to his lips and drank it at the same time as his father. To his surprise, however, the drink did not taste like alcohol at all. In fact, if he could describe it, it tasted like a perfect mix of mead and his favorite fruit juice, which his mother used to make for him all the time when she was still alive.

"Wow, that tastes great. Can I have some more?" Atreus smiled as he looked at the empty cup in his hand, before asking his father, who then refilled it for him.

""Aye, nectar will taste like anything that its drinkers like. It's the drink of the gods after all." Mimir spoke up with a small smile. Judging by the look on his face, Atreus had no doubt that Mimir had gotten it before, and probably missed it.

"Then what does it taste like for you, father?" Atreus then looked at his father and asked him "Lemnian wine?"

"Yes." Nodding his head, Kratos then put the bottle down after refilling his own up, looking at his son as he began "Atreus, do you have something to tell me?"

"Ah well, where do I start?" The young god said, turning to Mimir and saw the head also looking at him in expectation. "It all started when I saved this boy from school from being killed by his girlfriend, or ex-girlfriend…"
