Ch.70: She who would become Queen (Part 1)
A.N.:
Hey everyone!
Sorry it is a bit late but here is the first part of the final showdown between the Wade Family and the Doctor.
I am sorry that it is going to be a multi-part thing, but I was basically forced into this due to several things going on in my life right now.
The main issue at the moment is that I am really, really not feeling very good. Lately, I have been getting these weird spells of immense pain that feels like someone is trying to carve out my guts with a rusty spoon all while I have a fever that spikes up past 102 degrees. The spells are getting a little bit further apart as time has gone by though so hopefully that is a good sign. However, I am definitely going to go see a doctor because this hurts way too much to be something simple.
Some good news however is that my work situation is taking a turn for the better as we are approaching the winter season at the resort, so I have that going for me if nothing else.
However, I will bore you guys with my life drama some other time.
I really hope that you guys enjoy the last few chapters of this story. I know it has been a very long time since I started it but I want to finish it no matter what and try to make the ending worth the ride for you guys.
Since I am forced to do a multipart final showdown instead of a single large one, I am looking at about 2-3 more chapters…basically one with be the conclusion of the showdown, the next will be the conclusion of the main part of the story, and then there will be a lemon epilogue because we need to finish the story with one (of course lol).
Anyway,
Onto the big fight!
Huzzah!
I hope you guys like the first part!
Read and review if you want.
"Okay, hold up."
I paused from recounting the story of how Sparta and the Wade Family had risen to power as I was interrupted by Keira.
When I looked over at where the battle scarred soldier was listening to my recollection of the events that had led to Sparta becoming the leading world power, the former special forces operative crossed her arms and then asked, "So…you are telling me that while the rest of us weren't aware of what was going on…you, Alma, Alpha 1, Amara, Akira, Point Man, and Foxtrot 813 all had a dramatic showdown with that Doctor guy in some pocket dimension?"
My wife and the rest of the individuals that had been involved in the final showdown with the Plague Doctor all gave their respective assurances that the event did, in fact, occur.
I added, "Well, it makes what happened when we came back make much more sense, right?"
Stokes gave a slight shrug before she replied, "True…alright I will give you that."
I waited for a moment to see if anyone else was going to interrupt my story. When no one did, I gathered my thoughts and then resumed the tale.
As I began to open fire upon the Plague Doctor, I could not help but reflect on the fact that, in a way, it was almost comical that I found myself in my current situation. I was fighting a literal god side-by-side with the woman that I had once hated with every fiber of my being but was now my beloved wife, one of her sons that was a hardened super soldier that had served in the U.S, Military, the super soldier clone version of her other son, the daughters that I had had with aforementioned woman, and a cloned super soldier that had been engineered to kill one of the aforementioned sons. It was so bad that it was almost as if it was something out of some weird B-Movie.
As the traditionally armed members of the family continued to fire upon the Plague Doctor with our respective firearms, my wife and daughters began to attack with their inhuman, god-like powers. Moments after I had started to fire upon the entity before me, however, both Alpha 1 and I were levitated into the air. Then, before we could even react, we were both hurled towards Point Man and Foxtrot 813. Letting out a cry of pain and shock, I collided with Point Man with enough force to send both of us collapsing onto the smoldering ground beneath our feet.
Seconds after Alma's first son and I landed in a heap on the ground, alarm bells rang out inside my mind. With my honed instincts screaming at me, I managed to dead lift the imposing soldier off of me and then roll him over to the right before I then rolled to the left myself just in time to dodge a massive obsidian black that manifested out of the ground beneath where we had landed. Having just barely avoided the spikes, I quickly stood back up and then moved over to the still downed former F.E.A.R. Operative.
Upon reaching my ally, I reached out with my left gloved hand to offer to pull him up onto his feet. As the mute soldier took my hand and I hauled him back up to his feet, I asked with a sarcastic tone in reference to the fact that his first assignment with the F.E.A.R. Team had also been the beginning of this entire ordeal for him, "Worst first day at the office ever, right?"
Despite merely giving me a brief, silent glare from beneath his blue balaclava and red goggle-covered face, I could have sworn that his overall body language suggested that he was slightly amused by the comment.
I turned to face the doctor once again while I remarked to the entity, "That wasn't very nice…"
Then, as my body was enveloped by a thicker, crimson aura than it ever had been, I finished with a deep, almost demonic tone, "...don't count on doing it again."
By then, Alpha 1 and Foxtrot 813 had also stood back up and were ready to rejoin the fight as well. Meanwhile, Alma and Akira had still been attacking the Plague Doctor with blasts of psionic energy while circling him like a pack of hunters trying to find an opening. While they were, Amara was hanging back so that she could use her more passive Positive Psionic abilities to effectively lock the god-like entity in place to prevent him from teleporting or trying to use his reality-bending abilities to manipulate the environment around him to try to resist us.
Without his ability to teleport to safety or bend reality to his will, the Doctor was forced to try to fight my wife and daughters with raw brute strength and power. In the past, I was sure that he likely had been able to simply overpower everything and everyone in order to get his own way in such situations. However, here and now, either time or his own arrogance had finally caught up to him as he found that Alma, Amara, and Akira were easily on his level in terms of raw power and he could not simply just push them around like he had done so in the past against any potential rivals. At the moment, however, the fight was effectively at a stalemate as neither side was able to overwhelm the other or find an opening to exploit.
It was Alma and her ability to consume other psionics that was going to be our ace in the hole against our god-like foe. While the Plague Doctor was indeed "immortal", he was still a being of concentrated energy just like my wife. If the raven-haired demoness could "consume" his power and energy, it did not matter if the beaked entity was immortal or not. However, the issue at the moment was that he was still too resilient and was able to fight her off. Naturally, Alma and Akira together would eventually be able to wear down the outnumbered Doctor on their own. However, there was certainly enough firepower between the myself and the three other soldiers standing next to me to help expedite that process.
Raising my Patten Assault Rifle up at the ready, I addressed the men standing next to me, "Alright boys...lets fuck this guy up so Alma can do her thing."
Point Man gave his usual silent acknowledgement while he raised a Type 7 Particle Weapon up at the ready.
As Alpha 1 loaded his Vollmer Automatic Shotgun with solid slug rounds and then raised it up at the ready, the veteran Heavy Trooper remarked, "Right behind you, brother."
As he lifted an Armacham HV Hammerhead up at the ready, Foxtrot 813 commented, "Yeah, fuck this guy!"
I let out a short laugh before my Patten Assault Rifle began to emit a hellish red glow as I transferred some of my psionic energy into it to "charge it" and then remarked, "I like how you guys think."
Before us, the fight between the three psionics was rapidly escalating with each side countering each other with ever increasingly powerful attacks. Currently, Alma had hit the Doctor with an energy blast that was strong enough to knock him stumbling back a few steps as well as vaporize a large chunk of his body with most of his upper torso and head completely melted away. However, similar to my beloved wife, the beaked entity was a being that was essentially a mass of concentrated, living energy and, thus, such a horrendous injury was far less damaging than it seemed. This was proven moments later when the Doctor let out an annoyed growl as his beaked head was reformed back into existence along with the rest of his body as if nothing had even happened.
In response to my beloved partner's attack, the god-like entity sent out a dark green energy blast that Alma was just barely able to teleport out of the way in time before it continued on to completely demolish the nearby skeletal remains of a multistory building.
As the fully re-materialized entity approached Alma where she had teleported to in the middle of the cracked street, he began, "I will destroy you and this pathetic 'family' of yours, you little…"
However, his remark was cut short by a 14mm Flechette fired from Foxtrot's Hammerhead as it pierced completely through his freshly healed throat from the back. As the entity reached up to rip the depleted uranium spike out of his throat with his gloved left hand, we began to open fire upon him with our respective weapons. The Doctor's cries of anger were partially drowned out by the report of my energy-charged assault rifle as I fired my entire clip into him.
As I had learned during the few times that I had been able to fire at Alma back in Fairport and during my engagements with psionic energy-based paranormal entities since then, there was no real need for pinpoint accuracy because there was no true weak point such as a brain or anything such as that. Therefore, all that I needed to do for the moment was to simply provide fire support and not worry about going for a kill shot. It was partially the reason that I had simply continued to use standard 7.8mm rounds in my rifle while using my psionic energy to boost their damage instead of switching to something such as hollow points. We only needed to blast away at our adversary for now and, thus, I did not need to waste specialized ammunition just yet.
Meanwhile, Alma and Akira had regrouped and resumed their assault on the beaked entity. Caught on all sides and being unable to escape due to Amara locking him into place with her unique abilities, the God-like being's demise was now seemingly only a matter of time. For the first time, I could see that the Plague Doctor had finally realized how serious his situation was as he began to rapidly turn on the spot as if to try to decide which one of us to try to retaliate against first all while his manifested form was literally being blasted to pieces.
However, understandably, the ancient being was far from ready to give into his fate. Letting out a loud, rage-filled growl, the beaked individual aggressively ripped the Hammerhead spike out of his throat and then gripped the projectile tightly in his gloved left hand before then finally dissolving the metal projectile into ash before our eyes. With the offending object removed from his throat, the shrouded entity turned his attention back to us.
The Doctor's first retaliatory blast was sent in the direction of Point Man and me. However, by now, my control over my surgically enhanced reflexes was on a subconscious level and I easily dodged the blast despite being within only approximately fifteen yards of the god-like entity. The psionic power and will to fight that the god-like being still possessed was on display as I glanced over while my reflexes deactivated. There, to my left, was a channel in the paved ground that was approximately five yards wide and three yards deep. More importantly, as the dust settled, I was able to confirm that Point Man had dodged the blast as well.
Before our target could attempt another psionic attack, Alpha 1 blew off the front of his face with a solid slug from where the genetically enhanced Replica Heavy Trooper had taken advantage of the Doctor's attention being focused on Point Man and I to advance to within an arm's length away. Pressing his assault, my brother began to unleash an entire clip of his Vollmer Automatic Shotgun into the god-like entity. By the time that the veteran soldier had fired the last round in his weapon, the 12 gauge powerhouse had quite literally blown apart the top half of the Doctor's body leaving only an upright standing pair of legs and an lower torso.
As Alpha 1 began to move in to use his raw physical brute strength to further destroy the Plague Doctor, I took advantage of the pause to reload my Patten Assault Rifle. However, to my surprise, as I did so, my heavily armored brother was suddenly lifted up into the air. Before any of us could help him, the Replica was then sent into the side of a nearby flaming husk of a sedan. The veteran let out a loud cry of shock and anger as he impacted the abandoned vehicle with enough force to cave in the sedan so violently that it was nearly cut in half.
Amara and Akira both simultaneously cried out in horrified concern, "Uncle!"
Due to the fact that Amara had to continue to focus to use her abilities to keep the Doctor from teleporting, Akira was the one that ceased her attacks on the beaked entity to go assist the downed Replica Heavy Trooper. Meanwhile, before they could resume firing upon the rejuvenating god, Point Man and Foxtrot 813 were forced to team up to fight off a large group of ghostly specters that were manifested into existence as the Plague Doctor used his control over Hell to call in reinforcements from the endless supply of damned denizens located in its depths.
With the majority of the Wade Family temporarily removed from the fight, our foe turned his attention to Amara where she had been standing close to the side of the road near the burning carcass of a three story brick building. For a brief moment, I felt a wave of paternal pride as the seemingly innocent and timid, white dress-clad child stood her ground and stared down the now fully healed Plague Doctor with an unnerving steely eyed glare.
However, the young, raven-haired psionic's resolve did not need to be tested any further as Alma and I stepped in to protect our beautiful child. Just as he was about to raise his cane in the direction of Amara, the god-like entity cried out in surprise and rage as he was suddenly impaled multiple times by several lengths of molten red barbwire that had erupted out of the ground beneath his feet where I had willed them into existence. Before the skewered being could even react, his frame was then crushed and ripped apart by a pair of manifested tree root-like tentacles that also erupted out of the ground where my beloved wife had willed them into existence.
Wrapped up beneath the rough surface of the tentacles, the chunks of the Doctor's frame were then unceremoniously thrown nearly fifty yards down the cracked, charred street before they bounced off in separate directions upon landing on the harsh unforgiving paved ground. By the time that the pieces of the dismembered god had combined to reform his favored physical form, he found Alma and I standing side-by-side before him less than ten yards away.
Our efforts thus far had clearly had an effect on our powerful foe as his once bright green aura had noticeably dimmed and even flashed every so often as he glared back at us from beneath his plague doctor mask. Meanwhile, our respective crimson red and jet black auras were still just as thick and vibrant as they had been from the start of the fight as we glared back at the Doctor like a pair of predators about to pounce on our wounded prey.
As the time for talking was long since over, the only sound that came from us were our respective cries of rage as my beloved raven haired demoness of a companion and I charged forward towards the weakened but still standing foe with the intention to destroy him and remove his shadow from our world once and for all.
Special Announcement A.N.:
I know it is a bit sneaky to add this here, but I feel a bit mischievous at the moment.
I am officially announcing plans to make a full-length sequel to this story in the future.
More information on that later!
Hope you like this showdown so far!
