The Red Zone, Afghanistan, Ramirez is driving the humvee and an RPG hits it, but Hunter Team 2 bailed out just in time. Ramirez drags Allen to the riverbank and takes position on the destroyed bridge while Foley and Dunn took their positions at the riverbank.

Once the bridge was complete Foley orders Ramirez to lead BCT 1 on foot into the town ahead. While the rest of Hunter Team 2 clears the school later on, Ramirez and his BCT 1 squad were with Hunter Team 3 (Hunter 2-3 in the Original), assisting them in the gunfight and to the extraction convoy.

At the rally point, as Allen gets called by LTG. Shepherd, Foley orders Hunter Team 2 to rally up and Ramirez lets his BCT 1 squad go to help the wounded.

Then Ramirez sees Allen with Shepherd and he approaches Foley and Dunn. "So it's Allen who General Shepherd picks, huh?" Foley replies: "That's right." Ramirez adds: "I'm sure he'll do great there. A lot better than me, I suppose." Foley comforted Ramirez and said: "Ah, you're no slouch yourself either, Ramirez. Hell, you're an even better ranger than I am." Ramirez smiles and says: "Appreciate the confidence, Sarge. But I think we can guess why I'm not going. Besides, it'd be pretty hard for me to leave the Rangers. Foley laughs, Dunn laughs and says: "You must be too much for them to handle. And if you'd cry, I'm telling everyone." Ramirez mockingly laughs and genuinely smiles under his mask.
