Summary: Lois's thoughts after the episode "Lucy". Minor spoilers.
Author's Note: Reviews are welcome, but please be gentle because I wrote this at three in the morning.
"Lois," Lucy whimpered from behind her. Lois turned to her eight year old sister on her bike and did her best to smile. "I'll find the way."
Lois turned back to face the busy street. She mentally tried to retrace their steps. Home was less than a mile from where they were, she knew that much. She recognized the area from when they had first arrived in the city, but which road did they turn on? She scolded herself for not paying attention when the general gave directions.
A large, red truck rattled past them. Lois recognized it from the produce shop across the street from home. She watched the truck turn down a road before deciding to follow it. She glanced back to Lucy. "Ready?" Lucy nodded and mounted her bike.
Lois led the way on the bike and turned down the same road as the truck in search of anything familiar. Lucy peddled behind her, struggling to keep up. Lois slowed her pace. She spotted the truck once again and followed it down another road.
"There's the produce stand!" Lucy shouted excitedly. Lois followed her gaze and nodded. She shot Lucy a mischievous grin. "I'll race you home." Lucy mimicked her grin and without warning began peddling furiously.
Lois sighed as she lay staring at the ceiling and thought back to her conversation with Clarke. He was right. If for some reason Lucy were to call for help tomorrow she would not hesitate to bail her out.
She looked at the clock: seven a.m. She hadn't slept at all. She switched the alarm off before it went off and pulled herself from the soft bed. Lois shoved her thoughts aside and staggered toward the shower. The water was already running. Mr. and Mrs. Kent had their own bathroom, so Clarke was already up.
Lois thought for a moment before a small grin formed on her face and she shoved the door open. Clarke's startled face poked out between the shower curtains. "Lois!"
