My head was pounding by the time I woke up. I quickly looked around and noticed I was definitely not in New York anymore.
I was clearly deep in a murky Forrest. The air was thick of fog and damp sluggish water. I shivered thinking whatever lived here will definitely eat me on site.
As fast and steady as I could I stood up and looked around before running straight where I would assume to be a road or actual land. Making sure to keep my eyes straight ahead as I ran. I pushed passed the bushes and lingering vines.
I feel to my knees with relief of having finally found land. Looking up expecting a road to wave down help, to only come face to face with a layered semi road of dirt. Looking up I see a huge plain field and a long river that looked like it pushed on for miles.
I could still be by my city or a near by city. I just need to listen and follow my gut I guess. I walked the dirt path for what seemed like hours. Im sure I just fractured a bone from that drop, so this walk was no better then that run.
Maybe it was because all the adrenaline I felt of being possibly eaten as a entree for a beast. I came across a huge clearing with a waterfall and a wooden bridge, if you'll even call it that.
It seemed to made out of bark wood and formed into a mini bridge. Why does this clearing seem so familiar. I shrugged it off and continued to walk down the path.
I saw a few pieces of scattered stones, but as I got closer, it was clearly like a homes were here at one point. Am I in a exhibit park or something? They were run down but looked very vintage almost like a run down castle. I walked around the area a few more times, maybe I'll run into someone here.
Plus I can use a rest, my ankles feel like there swelling. Smelling something off, I stick my nose in the air.
Was something with burning ?
I followed the scent coming up to a fireplace that had a few logs in it. Not only a warm place to sit, but a freakin horse. Realization dawned on me that someone had to be close by. Thank God someone was here! I turned looking around for the horse owner but to my disappointment, no one was on site. We'll, I'm sure someone wouldn't just leave a horse out here like this.
I looked at the horse, it was a black mere with silky black hair. It wore a saddle and bags over its body. It had a few scars, oh poor thing. But someone definitely had to come back, and so, I was willing to wait.
Willing to sit down and finally rest, I was hungry. Maybe they left something in that bag. Looking over at the horse and it's bag it had dangling on its back. I stepped out to the horse with my hand stretched out in front of me. It neighed at me, which I assume was a warning since I wasn't his owner.
I backed away, "I'm sorry buddy I didn't mean to scare you". I put my hand back out trying again.
I slowly walked up to it finally reaching it's head as it bowed lower allowing me to give him a scratch. I giggled at the beast, I was a horse girl before, but this might change my mind. I reached in it's bag pulling out books with a weird monster on it, probably something to read to the kids here.
It was mostly bottles of weird colored, some of them reeked like ass. I coughed hard not being able to handle all the scents at once.
"Move the wrong way, and this arrow is going through the back of your skull". I froze at the unknown gruff voice of an man and his threat.
"Turn around, slowly".
I turned around slowly like he said. Being calm in a situation like this is hard.
Completely turned around I came face to face with Eskel, the witcher. We held eye contact for a least a minute. He eyed me down, his eyes traveling my figure as his arrow was bolted in place still aimed at me. I took the time to sharpen my mind to what the fuck was going on! Am I in the Witcher-verse right now?! Was that monster in human thing trying to drag me here ?
There was no way he was a cosplayer! He looked exactly like him in the game! No wonder this path seemed so familiar.
I looked over Eskel, his body was powerful. His face held the scar he so despises, it honestly made him hot. He wore his red plated armor with steal spikes and his brown pants.
I watched Eskel face tighten in a grimace as he lowered his weapon. What's your name".
"Luna", I replied quickly.
"What are you?".
I tilted my head in confusion, "Um a woman..", lowkey kinda offended.
His piercing yellow eyes starred at me intently, "Don't play coy? You a sorceress?"
"No, I'm human".
He nodded, sitting down near the abandoned fireplace he quickly lite Igni as he motioned for me to take the log across from him.
"How did you get this far, you know where your going"?
He didn't beat around the bush. I sighed, "No I'm lost. I feel through a portal after being attached by a armored giant".
He only sat in alert as he shared a hard stare at me, "Explain".
I rolled my eyes, I wasn't some dog he could command. He looked at me like he was growing impatient. I sighed, aggravated and exhausted. " I'm from a different reality, a place called the United States, basically a different world".
Once I was sure I covered all the details, even with how I was familiar with this world. Just left out that I knew about them and there entirety of there existence. Last thing I want was to bring too much more attention to myself, I didn't want them looking at me like I was some all knowledgeable being. Plus who wants to know someone know everything about them already, if I was gonna be here I'd have to fit in.
I looked over at him, he looked stunned to say the least. "Well you don't seem like your from around here that's for sure. Your features and clothing, and the way you talk is a dead giveaway, if you where anywhere else people here would try to kidnap you".
I involuntary shivered at that thought, "How do I know your not trying to kidnap me either?"
He looked me over again, his eyes dragging lower to my midsection of my belly down to my long legs, "You'd know. But that inhuman thing that did try to kidnap you sounds like a member of the wild hunt".
"But why would the wild hunt come after me?", am I hyperventilating?
"Well I've been on my edge since I saw you because my medallion wouldn't stop vibrating. Whatever you are, it's abnormal". He turned picking up his items off the ground and placing them back in his horse bags.
"This is Scorpion, they'll be helping me take you to my home. My pack will be able to help you more with some medical care and a meal. If you want to come of course, it's up to you."
I briskly approached him next to Scorpion rubbing the horse head in thanks. He turned to the fire putting it out with Aard. I slightly fangirled to myself.
He helped me first getting on Scorpion, grabbing me by my hips and slightly pushing on my the sides of ass to pull my leg over the huge horse. He followed swiftly in one jump pressed behind me on Scorpion. I blushed feeling him behind me. Gosh, if he knew how obsessed I was with him, what I wouldn't do to stay here in this spot. It felt great having no pressure on my foot, but I'm gonna have to control my hormones.
I felt him shift a little, I looked back at him. "Everything okay, am I taking up your space", I giggled. He looked forward almost avoiding my gaze, "No your fine, we should be there soon". He almost sounded like he was straining himself. I shrugged my shoulders, and enjoyed the ride.
It felt like a dream.
