Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, Spyro and Cynder arrived on the scene of the Guardians' murder, and found the mysterious orb they left floating there. Investigation shows it's radiating runes, ancient symbols neither Spyro nor Cynder can translate, and the police force's only translator is out of town. But thankfully, there's someont in town who can read these things, and apparently it's Robert Langdon. We left off with the encounter. So what's going to happen next? Read on to discover...(

Our story resumes exactly as we left it, Langdon standing in the door completely caught off guard by the dragons' sudden arrival as forecasted by the mysterious voice, but soon he gets past it and steps out of the room, and soon the group is moving down the stairs of the hotel, discussing the situation)

Langdon: I'll admit this is all rather sudden.

Spyro: And we're terribly sorry for that, Professor Langdon.

Langdon: Please, call me Robert. And while you're at it, can you please tell me what's going on?

Cynder: Something's come up that requires your expertise.

Langdon: Something tells me I should be worried.

Spyro: What tells you that?

Langdon: (Recalling his past adventures) Past experience.

Cynder: We'll try to get you back to your regular schedule as soon as we can.

(And before we know it, we're back outside the crime scene, where Ember and Flame are about to unlock the door)

Ember: Hope you don't have a phobia of crime scenes, especially that of a murder

Langdon: Trust me, this isn't the first time I've been at one

Flame: If you say so, Professor.

(And with that, Flame opens the door revealing the crime scene, dead Guardians and all, and Langdon only flinches a tiny bit)

Spyro: (Seeing this) Okay, you're made of stronger stuff than I thought, Professor Langdon.

Langdon: Trust me, once you've seen a body with the head twisted 180 degrees and branded, there's not much left that can surprise you.

Cynder: (To Flame) This guy's a teacher? He sounds like a cop to me.

Spyro: Either way, the deceased aren't what we called you here for. (Points out the orb) It's this thing.

(Now Langdon lays eyes on the orb, and is completely caught off guard)

Langdon: What am I looking at here?

Cynder: We were hoping you could tell us. Specifically what it's saying.

Langdon: If this thing starts talking, I'm going to pass out.

Spyro: It's radiating runes in seemingly pure energy. We were told you could translate them.

Langdon: You guys are police? Don't you have a translator on staff for this?

Cynder: Out of town.

Langdon: Well you've got a sorry replacement here. I'm barely a novice at reading runes like these.

Spyro: So you can't read it?

Langdon: I didn't say that. Thankfully it's radiating easy symbols. Let me take a look.

(With that, Langdon starts examining the orb, and marks down every unique rune that emerges from it, and pretty soon comes back with something)

Langdon: That's odd. These runes are all elemental symbols. Fire, Electricity, Ice, Earth. In that order.

Cynder: Just those four?

Langdon: That's all I saw

Cynder: Spyro, could it be some sort of elemental lock?

Spyro: It might be. We'll need to gather the other three elements.

Cynder: Or...

Spyro: (Realizes it) Oh yeah, I forgot. I can do all of them. Stand back everyone.

(Heeding Spyro's warning, everyone steps back as Spyro let's loose a small beam of Aether. And before long, the orb glows brightly and starts to speak, as well as display a message written in runes, translated as such:)

Nine forces create the world, One comes to bind them.

Nine lie hidden across the land, waiting on One to find them.

From Burning crypts and altars Cold, the path will before you unfold

Come new Storm, come olden Gale, in this task you must not fail.

In bitter Dark and Terror filled night, stride those upon the path of light

Fear not of Flood nor Toxic sting, from those who stand within the wing

At the end of this lofty quest, our Land at last will rest.

Nine hide from the false, bring truth to the fight.

And One will be revealed in Violet Light.

(And with that, the orb stops talking and finally fizzles out as we see the group trying to figure out what's going on, Ember specifically scribbling on a notepad as we get a look at Langdon, his face frozen in shock as the rest catch up from what just happened)

Cynder: What just happened?

Spyro: I... have no idea. (Seeing Langdon) Professor Langdon, are you okay?

(And just like that, Langdon passes out, just as he foretold would happen if the orb started speaking. As the four dragons rush to make sure he's not dead, we see a fifth figure standing outside the window, having noted everything, fleeing into the night as our tale ends for today.)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. Talk about a lot to cover. Now I will say this much, the italicized text is the titular Violet Riddle. And untypical Dan Brown fashion, it's cryptic. But what does it mean? Tune in next time to start finding out! Same time... same channel!
