Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, Ember, Flame, and Robert Langdon returned to the scene of the crime, where the orb still rests. At which point, Langdon informs the dragons of the correct order of the Elements to hit the orb with, at which point it seemingly activates, throwing out a violet beam towards its first destination, heading northwest out of the city. With the trail begun, the group flies off, with Cynder carrying Langdon, following the beam. So, where does it lead to? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes, following the violet beam shot out at the end of the last chapter, with our troupe of heroes following it, Spyro leading the way, followed by Ember, Flame, Cynder, and Langdon being carried by Cynder. But as they catch up to the beam, Langdon notices he's sweating, despite the fact that he's had very little exertion during the quest to date)
Langdon: Is anybody else getting sweaty right now?
Cynder: You're not alone, Professor.
Flame: Trust me, we're all feeling it. Even Ember and I, and Fire dragons don't sweat easily!
Ember: What's going on here?
Spyro: We're approaching somewhere familiar.
(At this point, we see exactly where we are, in front of a massive volcano, which explains the heat that everyone is feeling)
Cynder: Is that Boyzitbig? I thought that place was decimated last time we were here!
Langdon: What is this place?
Spyro: Welcome to Munitions Forge.
(At this point, Langdon puts together everything that's happening, especially what Boyzitbig really is)
Langdon: Wait, is that a VOLCANO?!
Cynder: And a very unstable one at that.
Langdon: You've got to be kidding me. Our first location is an active volcano?!
Spyro: I guess this definitely confirms we're heading for the Altar of Fire.
(As Boyzitbig looms over the scene, the group lands, trying to get their bearings)
Cynder: Did anyone get a good bearing on the beam?
Flame: Sorry to say I kind of lost track of it. I think we've been following the remnants of it.
Spyro: So the first Altar is somewhere around here, but we have no idea where.
Langdon: It shouldn't be hard to find, all we need to do is find a violet gem. That was the marker the scrolls detailed.
Cynder: Good point.
Spyro: I didn't see one last time I was here. But, if there's anyone who's going to know, it's Mole-Yair.
Langdon: Mole-Yair?
Spyro: One of the locals. If we can find him or Exhumor, he might know something about what we're looking for.
Ember: When was the last time you interacted with Mole-Yair?
Cynder: When we were captured by the Skavengers.
Spyro: I don't know if he got back here or not.
Cynder: Well, we'd better find out quickly. If my memory serves me correctly, the nearest settlement isn't far from here. If Mole-Yair's anywhere, he's likely to be there. Follow me.
(With that, Cynder leads the group to the settlement she recalls. But as they head off into the distance, Langdon gets a glance at the volcano that is Boyzitbig, then gulps as he looks back towards the group, now starting to leave without him)
Langdon: Let's hope we're not due for an eruption.
(With his nervous proclamation made, Langdon runs to catch up with his comrades, as a dark shadow descends over the scene. The false one has arrived on the scene, having followed them all this way)
?: Of course it had to be here. (Starts coughing) This place always exacerbates my coughing fits. (Coughs) This better be worth it.
(With that, our mysterious antagonist sneaks in behind Langdon and company, preparing his scheme, as our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. Yes, this chapter is kind of short, but I just wanted to set up what kind of area we're working with. So, it looks like Spyro missed something last time he was here. But maybe Mole-Yair does in fact know something about where the team needs to start looking. So, does he? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
