Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, after a brief stop for rest and reassurance, Spyro, Cynder, Ember, Flame, and Robert Langdon arrived at Dante's Freezer, the location of the Altar of Ice. After securing a jacket for Langdon from an old ape supply chest, the group pressed on to find exactly where in this place the Altar itself in. So, what will we learn here? Read on to discover...

(Our story resumes within the frozen ruins of Dante's Freezer, where Spyro, Cynder, Ember, Flame, and Langdon are walking through, trying to find any trace of the beam that they followed to get here. But as they do, out of their sight, a shadowy figure emerges onto the scene, the "false one" has arrived, and looks like he's ready to make a killing.)

?: Ah... the wandering heroes. Lost for any sign of where to be. Let's see what they find...

(As our mysterious villain stands there, Langdon stops dead in his tracks, as if he senses the figure is there. The "false one" apparently senses this, disappears into the snow, just as Langdon turns around, looking for what caused him to stop. Seeing this, the four dragons turn back to the professor, realizing something is up.)

Cynder: You okay, Professor Langdon?

Langdon: (Looks around again) For a second there, I thought we were being followed...

Spyro: There are frozen soldiers from an ancient war around here. Maybe you sensed one of them.

Langdon: Yeah, I saw one of those on the last turn, but whatever this was felt... alive. Not like that frozen corpse I saw...

Ember: Spooky...

Flame: Though it may be, we have a mission to accomplish. We can't spend this time chasing ghosts that may or may not exist.

Cynder: Flame's right. We need to keep moving.

(As the group continues on, Langdon gives one last look around, as if to confirm he saw nothing, before he rejoins them. But as he leaves, the "false one" appears again, just where he was.)

?: Hmmm... this human proves... bothersome. I must keep my eyes on him...

(As the "false one" looks on, we focus back on our heroes, who appear to be staring at a wall, looking for some clue)

Spyro: Well, looks like we've hit a dead end...

Cynder: (Seeing something) Hold on a second, I think I've got something.

(Reaching out to the wall, Cynder brushes away the snow, revealing beneath a glistening sheet of ice what looks like a series of runes carved into the wall)

Cynder: Runes.

Langdon: Say no more. Might be harder to translate given the glare off the ice. But I'll see what I can do.

(Seeing he's needed, Langdon steps up to the wall and tries to read the runes, but he realizes something straight away)

Langdon: These runes are kind of shaky. My guess, the carver was suffering from frostbite.

Spyro: But can you translate it?

Langdon: Working on it.

(As Langdon continues to translate, the "false one" secretly slips in over the scene, and breaks off part of the battlements above them, causing it to fall. Flame notices this and rushes to Langdon's aid)

Flame: Watch out!

(In that moment, Flame pushes Langdon out of the way, just as the rock hits the ground, leaving just about everyone surprised)

Flame: Looks like there may be something to your feeling after all.

Langdon: Yeah...

Cynder: Are you okay, Professor Langdon?

Langdon: A little shaken, but okay. (Looks back at the runes) And I've got the translation.

Ember: Then where are we going?

Langon: North ten feet by ten, east five feet by five, south two feet by two, and then one foot by one west.

Spyro: (Trying to figure out the math) Okay?

Langdon: (Pointing behind them.) That's north, right?

Spyro: Yeah?

Langdon: Follow me.

(With that, Langdon takes charge of the group, with the dragons following shortly behind him, deciding to trust his judgement. But as they leave, we see the "false one" re-emerge)

?: The human proves very useful. But his usefulness will soon be outlived...

(As the dark drake follows them, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. So it looks like our "false one" may be growing tired of Langdon, even trying to kill him here. But is it going to be enough to deter Langdon? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
