Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, the "false one" attacked again, nearly managing to hit Professor Langdon with dark fire while our heroes were searching for the hidden Altar of Ice. But the blast revealed the hidden Altar, and allowed them to claim the second necklace and set off towards the next location. But the "false one" is behind them. So, where is the next Altar? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes in the air, as Spyro, Cynder, Ember, Flame, and Langdon discuss what just happened to them in Dante's Freezer, with Cynder noticing something particular in Spyro's being.)
Cynder: Are you okay, Spyro?
Spyro: (Caught off guard) Huh? (Realizes what Cynder said to him) Yeah, yeah I'm okay.
Cynder: Spyro, I know you too well to believe that.
Spyro: (Sighs) I know. But can you blame me for being off about what just happened?
Langdon: What are you talking about?
Spyro: Nearly letting you get killed because I didn't believe your instinct, Professor Langdon.
Langdon: Believe me, we both have problems trusting our instincts sometimes. I managed to convince myself it was one of those frozen corpses the first time.
Spyro: Doesn't make me feel any better. Considering you almost died twice due to...
Cynder: I'm going to stop you there, Spyro. You are not responsible for what happened to Professor Langdon. Whoever was following us was.
Spyro: I'm supposed to be this realm's protector. If I can't spot an enemy when they're that close, how can I defend anything?
Cynder: Now you're starting to sound like me a couple of years ago. We need to focus on finishing this mission. You'll have plenty of chances to confront whoever's behind this.
Ember: Speaking of, anybody got any theories as to who this is?
Langdon: The most likely candidate is the "false one" the scrolls told about. As to who that is, I have no idea.
Flame: And what are they even pretending to be? A name like "false one" indicates they're impersonating something.
Cynder: Something tells me we'll have more encounters with this figure as we go on. Undoubtedly they want to get their hands on these gems. You know, ending the world and all that.
Spyro: True. We need to keep moving.
(As the group continues flying, the skies around them seem to start crackling with electricity, causing Langdon a great deal of concern)
Langdon: Something tells me we're getting closer. That or we're just flying through a particularly bad storm.
Cynder: I'm going to agree with both theories, Professor Langdon. I know exactly where we are.
(And as Cynder says that, the storm clouds part, revealing a giant black tower, surrounded by a forest of gems.)
Cynder: Concurrent Skies.
Spyro: Makes sense, where else was so associated with Electricity?
Cynder: Doesn't mean I wanted to come back here.
Langdon: Sounds like you've got history with this place.
Cynder: More history than I'd ever want. But it does give us an advantage. I know this place better than anyone. Chances are I saw the Altar at some point.
Spyro: Then it makes sense for you to take lead, Cynder.
Cynder: Alright then. Here we go. (To Langdon) Hang on, Professor!
(And with that, Cynder, still carrying Langdon, flies at a great speed ahead, using the wind to her advantage, with Langdon hanging on for dear life. The other three dragons follow swiftly behind, dodging lightning bolts as they do. But behind them lurks the "false one", hidden amongst the storm clouds.)
?: Well then, the Terror of the Skies returns to her lair. This should be very... interesting.
(As the "false one" follows our heroes into the airspace of Concurrent Skies, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to end for today. So, the Altar of Electricity is somewhere in Concurrent Skies. Definitely a good spot to hide it, since it's one solo purple gem out of an entire forest of them, not to mention gem-based monsters. So, will Cynder lead our heroes right to where they need to be? Tune in next time to start finding out! Same time... same channel!
