This is the Finale of the Memorial Day Special. Last time, our heroes made their way into the fortress of Concurrent Skies, with Langdon learning a bit about Cynder's past as they took the elevator to the top of the place. So, what awaits them at the summit? Read on to discover... (Fair warning, this chapter may be a little shorter than usual, due to typing on mobile)
(Our story resumes stop the fortress of Concurrent Skies, where Spyro, Cynder, Ember, Flame, and Langdon start looking around)
Langdon: (Seeing they're above the cloud line) Should I be putting oxygen tanks on?
Cynder: Surprisingly, no. The cloudlike is just really low here.
Langdon: Good to know.
Flame: So, you're sure the Altar is up here?
Cynder: It's a theory I had once we landed.
Ember: Where'd that theory come from?
Cynder: When Ignitus was trapped here, he noted something was pricking him in the back. It's a stretch, but it may be what we need.
Spyro: (Looking to where Ignitus was held) That's the spot alright.
(As Spyro looks at that spot, Langdon spots a glint of light from the area)
Langdon: I can see it!
(And as Langdon makes the announcement, we see exactly what we're looking for, a familiar violet gem with a small yellow gem hanging from a leather string)
Cynder: Good eye Professor!
Ember: It's right there for the taking!
(But just as the group reaches for the gem, the glass ceiling on the dome behind them breaks, revealing a cackling and familiarly coughing dragon. The "false one" has arrived)
Flame: Who the hell is that?!
Langdon: (Recognizing the figure) That's the guy who tried to kill us in Dante's Freezer!
?: Ah, I'm glad you remember me, human. (Taking the necklace from the Altar) Thank you for leading me right to this, fools! Now to find the remaining ones.
(And with a cackle and a cough, the "false one" flies away with Spyro being tempted to follow him)
Spyro: He's got the necklace! We've got to go after him!
Langdon: (Stopping Spyro) We can't risk capture over one necklace. We need to figure out where the remaining six are. Once we have them secured, we can go back for that one!
Spyro: (Realizing Langdon is right) Good point.
Ember: So, where to next?
Langdon: Based on the riddle, we're looking for the Altar of Wind. So we need the Wind element to find it.
Cynder: Leave this one to me.
(With that, Cynder summons forth her Wind element and blows a gale right onto the violet gem, causing a beam of violet light to emerge from it and dash away from the tower, heading off to another location)
Spyro: Somebody get a bead on that thing and keep an eye out for that dragon from earlier!
(And with that, the group flies off after the beam, keeping dead on with it. But as they fly, we see the "false one" is hiding in the clouds, holding the necklace he stole.)
?: One down, and soon they shall lead me to the rest. Then I'll take the rest from them. Now then, to let them lead me right to them...
(And with that, the "false one" flies off in the direction of the beam, our tale ends for today)
