Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, things took a bad turn, as not only did the Sorcerer claim the next gem necklace, but he killed Ember and Flame in doing it. Realizing the only way they can beat this guy is to beat him to the next Altar, the Altar of Water, Spyro, Cynder, and Professor Langdon activate the previous Altar, and take off to find the Altar before the Sorcerer can. But will they make it in time? Read on to discover...

(Our scene resumes with Spyro, Cynder, and Langdon flying away from Ancient Grove and following the Silver River well past their previous destination, until eventually, they're out over the ocean.)

Langdon: Anybody have any idea where we're going?

Spyro: To be honest, I couldn't think of a place I've been that matched Water. That and Fear were really the oddballs in the bunch.

Cynder: At least we're somewhere that makes sense. If the Altar of Water is anywhere, it would probably be somewhere in the ocean.

(But just as the three appear to be in a peaceful pursuit, a shadow arrives on the scene, as the Sorcerer appears behind them)

Sorcerer: So, the deaths of your comrades weren't enough to deter you. Perhaps this will be!

(With that, the Sorcerer releases a blast of dark fire that Spyro and Cynder barely manage to avoid)

Spyro: (Seeing the enemy is behind them) He's found us!

Cynder: Hold on tight Professor!

Langdon: Please tell me this dogfight comes with an air sickness bag!

(And just like that, the dogfight begins. Spyro and Cynder try to dodge attacks from their adversary, all the while trying not to drop Langdon. But at that point, Cynder gets an idea.)

Cynder: Spyro, I've got a plan that just might work.

Spyro: If it stops this guy from attacking, go for it!

Cynder: Hang on, Professor Langdon!

Langdon: Why do I get the feeling this won't end well for me?

(At this point, Cynder holds back, to the point that she's even behind the Sorcerer and then starts flying over him.)

Cynder: Got any combat experience, Professor?

Langdon: Nothing that can take down a dragon, I don't think!

Cynder: Don't need you to take him down, just to distract him.

Langdon: Are you sure this is a good idea? I was the first person he tried to kill!

Cynder: Trust me Professor, this should work.

Langdon: And what do I do after I get on him?

Cynder: That's up to you. Now go!

(And with that, Cynder lets go of Langdon, as he lands on the Sorcerer's back. Thankfully, the massive dragon doesn't notice where Langdon is. When Langdon realizes where he is, he gets an idea and starts climbing along the Sorcerer's back until he reaches his neck.)

Langdon: I hope this works!

(At this point, Langdon starts strangling the Sorcerer, temporarily stopping the fireball barrage, But at this point, the Sorcerer realizes where Langdon is and what he's doing. Then he starts fighting back against Langdon's strangling, eventually managing to throw Langdon off of his back and seemingly into the ocean, but thankfully Cynder manages to catch him before he hits the water.)

Langdon: Thanks, Cynder. Wasn't planning on swimming on this trip!

Cynder: Trust me, you don't want to swim these seas.

Sorcerer: So, you thought the human would be all it takes to get rid of me, eh? I'll applaud your creativity. But for it, you must DIE!

(Just as the Sorcerer is about to let loose another fireball, Spyro slams into his head)

Spyro: You. Will Not. Harm Her!

Sorcerer: Insolent swine!

(Seeing Spyro's in trouble, Cynder flies back up with Langdon in tow, who kicks the Sorcerer in the head as he gets close enough, distracting him long enough for all of them to escape.)

Sorcerer: YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE ME WITH YOUR LIVES!

(And with that, the Sorcerer lets loose the strongest fireball anyone here has ever seen, but it doesn't hit the trio, rather it explodes behind them, knocking everybody out of the sky, and seemingly straight into the ocean, but a cloud moves in front of our view before we see the splash)

Sorcerer: Good riddance.

(And at this moment, unsure about our heroes' fate, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to end for today. A nice cliffhanger as regards their survival. I know we didn't get the Altar of Water's location, but that's being reserved for next time, along with something I've been waiting to do since this story began. So, did our heroes make it? Where are they? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
