Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, Ignitus finally gave us an explanation as to why these gems are so important. They will reveal the identity of, get this, the Second Purple Dragon. That's right, there's another one, and the Sorcerer thinks it's him, believing this ritual will reveal he was unfairly denied his birthright. And with that information, they rushed off to find the Altar of Poison, hidden in the Grove Underground. So, will our terrific trio beat the Sorcerer to the Altar? Read on to discover... (Fair warning, this chapter is going to be a little bit shorter than usual)

(Our story resumes flying over the ocean, where Spyro, Cynder, and Langdon are attempting to reach the Altar of Poison before the Sorcerer can. But all the while, Langdon has been puzzling over everything Ignitus told them at White Isle, with Cynder ultimately noticing)

Cynder: Are you okay, Professor?

Langdon: (Realizing she's noticed him) I'm fine, I'm just... thinking.

Cynder: About what?

Langdon: This Second Purple Dragon thing.

Cynder: Pretty vague thing to wonder about.

Langdon: I guess I'm just wondering why the Guardians chose now to tell them about what they really are. I'd say that runs a fair risk of driving them crazy.

(At this point, Spyro has overheard the conversation and lets himself drift back towards Cynder and Langdon to offer his two cents)

Spyro: Honestly, it could also be the best decision they made.

Langdon: No offense, but how can you be sure?

Spyro: That's what their predecessors did with me, though unintentionally.

Langdon: I thought you were found after floating down the river?

Spyro: I was, but not by dragons.

Langdon: Oh yeah, the whole "thought you were a dragonfly" thing.

Spyro: That aside, it ended up making sure I didn't go mad from the power when I did find out. Chances are not telling this other Purple Dragon about this is for the same reason.

Langdon: What if this dragon goes crazy when they learn that people have been lying to them their whole life?

Spyro: I don't think whoever raised them actually knew either. So... not likely. Not impossible, so I'll give you that.

Langdon: It still seems a little weird to me. What if this person goes crazy from people lying to them all these years?

Cynder: As far as we know, nobody knows this secret outside of the Guardians. So there isn't much to worry about there, I'd think.

Langdon: Still, you can't blame me for being worried.

Spyro: Of course not.

Cynder: It's perfectly logical.

Spyro: As much as I'm liking this philosophical conversation, we're nearing the Ancient Grove again, and we need to be ready in case the Sorcerer beat us there.

Cynder: Agreed.

Langdon: Let's do this.

(And as the three get back on the wind, we see the shoreline of the Ancient Grove come into view. Not wasting any time, the three dive in towards the poisonous landscape, not knowing what awaits them in its treacherous underground, as our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. Sure, not a lot of content this time, but it made some room for interesting philosophical debates regarding the ethics of hiding this monumental secret from somebody. To be fair, I think these questions are honestly fair to ask about where and how this second Purple Dragon might be morally and such. So, consider this a filler chapter I guess. Next time, we start trekking towards the Altar of Poison. Will our heroes beat the Sorcerer there? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
