Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, and Professor Langdon started heading back towards Ancient Grove to locate the Altar of Poison. Along the way, the three had a conversation about whether informing this second Purple Dragon of their destiny now is a smart move or not, as opposed to straightaway. But before arriving at a clear consensus, the group arrived in Ancient Grove. So, will they reach the Altar of Poison in time? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens on Spyro, Cynder, and Langdon landing back in Ancient Grove)

Langdon: If Ignitus is to be believed, we have no time to waste. What's the fastest way to the Grove Underground?

Spyro: I know the way. Follow me.

(With that, Spyro, Cynder, and Langdon dash off deeper into the Grove, looking for any sign that the Altar of Poison is near them. But as they race through the treacherous terrain, Langdon's mind is racing just as fast, if not faster, trying to piece together everything that's happened in the last few hours.)

Langdon: (Within his own mind) This is turning into the craziest research trip I've ever been on. I half expected to just go to a few museums, maybe a few cultural heritage sites, learn the culture, probably enjoy some local cuisine, just gather some material for my new book. (Looks at the two dragons running in front of him) And now I've been running around the country trying to solve a secret that's generations old, trying to stop what could be the end of the world if this Sorcerer has his way! (Thinks it over) This always seems to happen to me when I'm just trying to relax, doesn't it? Having a late-night glass of Nestle Quik ended up with me facing the Illuminati in Vatican City. So, I guess if there was any time for me to get involved with saving the world using Dragon Symbology, it would be now.

(As Langdon thinks over everything he's been through since arriving, he suddenly has an idea.)

Langdon: (Within his own mind) Hold on. All of this has definitely given me something I could put in the book. The importance of the color Purple to both dragons and humans. Purple Dragons are destined to shape their eras in some way. Maybe some sort of interaction between dragons and humans is why Purple became a royal color in human society. Mark that down, Langdon. That's not a bad idea actually. Definitely a front-cover issue. I'll have to discuss this with Spyro and company once this is over.

(But as Langdon wraps up his thought session, he sees a shadow passing over them, a very familiar shadow, one that they never should have seen)

Langdon: Don't look now, but we've got company!

(At Langdon's pronouncement, Spyro and Cynder look up and see the source of the dreaded shadow, the Sorcerer is flying right overhead. In their shock, everybody grinds to a halt, fully expecting a fight is about to get underway, but then... he just flies right past them)

Cynder: (Breathes a sigh of relief) He doesn't see us. We still have a head start on him to the Altar. Let's go.

(With this revelation made, the trio continues running, hoping to make it to the Altar of Poison before their adversary notices they're here. And as they run off into the depths of the Grove, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for today. Yes, this one seems a little scatter-brained compared to the last ones, but in my defense, as I'm typing this, I've only been out of the hospital for two days and I'm still struggling to readjust myself to my normal environment. I'm sure the next chapter will be better, mostly because I really know what's going on this time. But while we're here, it's about time I mention it. This story is wrapping up. There's only going to be 7 more chapters after today. So let's finish strong! Now, will our heroes make it to the Altar of Poison before the Sorcerer can? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
