Leah called Lily early in the morning, frantic. She had called no less than five times before the vibration from the phone had woken Lily enough to actually return to the land of the living.

"ello?" was the half-muffled response Lily could muster.

"Finally, bitch! I've been trying to fucking call you for hours. Don't tell me you just woke up!" Leah screamed across the phone.

Wincing, Lily tried to formulate a response. "No, I always sound this tired talking to you. You wear me out. What's the problem Leah? Maybe let's focus on that. Are the plants ok?"

"No, its not your stupid plants! Its Seth and Jacob! Seth can't seem to get a hold of Jacob. When he finally did, he decided to share with me that Jacob has drank the cool-aid! My brother is next!

"Leah, I legit have no idea what you're talking about. Cool aid? Like Jim Jones or like drugs? "

"Lily, I love you but don't fucking start with me. Seth said Jacob joined the gang of goodie two shoes Sam has. My brother is going to be next because wherever Sam goes, he goes. What do we do?"

Sitting up, Lily took stock of everything she knew. Jacob decided to join the steroid boys of the La Push reservation. Seth would be next if Leah was anything to go by. Leah had the temper of a fire cracker. Fuck.

"Ok, I have a plan but you're not going to like it. Before I start, where is Jacob and where is Seth." Was the tired closed eye response Lily could come up with.

"Seth is here, but he said Jacob was seen at Emily's."

Emily's? Lily hadn't realized Emily had moved out of the Clearwater Household. But then again, after Emily decided to take up with Sam Lily had to make a choice. She made the choice to support Leah and she stood by that. She didn't love Emily any less, but understood Leah needed someone in her corner more than ever.

"Stay with Seth. Don't let him out of your sight. I'll go to Emily's and deal with Jacob. I do want to point out that Seth could use a better role model. Maybe he should choose a public figure instead?"

"Lily shut up. Please don't joke. I can't handle it right now. Thank you. I can't… I can't go over there without losing my cool. That wouldn't help anyone. So, thank you. I know I can always count on you."

"Leah, I'm always here for you. You're my best friend. I know, I see you cringing from here. Just take it for what it is. I'll text you once I get there." With that, Lily quickly showered and dressed for the day. She had a sinking feeling in her stomach that something off the walls was about to go down. Shed rather focus on one crisis at a time, thank you very much.

After convincing Sarah that yes, she was fine and no, she didn't want any breakfast she was able to obtain the car keys to head towards Emily's house. Leah had texted her the address, which wasn't too far away from where everything else was on the Res. Thankfully, it hadn't been as cold so the roads were somewhat nicer than normal.

It took over 40 minutes driving the way Lily does to get to Emily's. There were several cars already there, including interestingly enough a familiar red. Fucking. Truck.

Lily had a brief moment, that couldn't have taken more than a fraction of a second. Far to fast for a human brain to even fathom the thoughts that came across her brain in that moment. But, all the same the dread of having to deal with something that miraculously included Bella Fucking Swan was starting to really bother her. Why was this girl everywhere and involved in everything? She was just a normal girl, right? The dread that pooled in her stomach at the brain wave attached to the name Bella Swan told her otherwise.

Lily parked her car next to the stupid truck. She didn't understand why she was so upset at Bella. The girl hadn't really done anything to her in any noticeable way. It was just one of those instincts, similar to the ones that tell you to run or that you being watched. Bella Swan equaled danger. She wasn't sure how or why. She had no explanation for it. She probably couldn't tell anyone about it either, except maybe Leah.

Nobody would believe her other than Leah anyways.

Sam apparently that with a full house, he was supposed to be the one to great her.

"Lily, what are you doing here?" Not a hello. No thank you for healing your girlfriend. Definitely no acknowledgment that she hadn't told the police everything regarding the argument that led to Emily's injuries.

"Sam. I am just here to talk to Emily and Jacob for different reasons. Why are you here?"

"Lily, I own the house. I am pretty sure I'm intitled to be at my own house."

Well, that was new. She and she guessed Leah hadn't realized Emily had moved to play house with Sam. But considering everything Leah had told her Lily couldn't be too shocked.

"Listen, I didn't know you owed the house. I just need to talk to Jacob about Seth, and Emily because I miss her. She was my friend before everything. I know Leah misses her. May I please come in. Or, sense you seem to be having a…. meeting, could they come outside?"

"Lily, you should leave. This has nothing to do with you. Emily doesn't want to talk to you, and Jacob has no reason to. Seth knows where Jacob lives. If he needs to talk to Jacob, he can be man enough to talk to him himself."

"Sam, Seth is 14 and scared for his friend. Don't you remember being 14? Weren't you scared for a friend at some point? Leah isn't impartial enough to come here, so I am. I miss Emily, and wish things had ended differently. But there is nothing I can do to change what happened. So please, may I talk to them," was Lily's heartfelt speech. She didn't think she had said more than two words to Sam ever in her life before this moment. He was massively tall, full of muscle, and made her jaw ache. Well, an aching jaw was new. Maybe she slept funny on it?

"Sam, is everything ok?" She knew that voice. Thank goodness Emily had decided to show up. Lily had no idea what was going on, but Emily looked so much better than the last time she had seen her. The flashback to the screams and blood casing her to feel hot.

"Lily?" was all that Emily could say once she realized who was in front of her. The poor girl looked worse than last time she had seen her. She looked tired, feverish, and in pain. Emily missed the weeknights filled with her cousin and best girlfriend. Their ages may have varied by a few years, but what the three of them had felt solid. At least, before everything changed. Before he changed. Emily hadn't anticipated what happened next.

"Emily!" and with that, Lily ran up and hugged Emily as tightly as ever. Neither girl realizing just how badly they had missed each other. Lily no longer saw the blood or heard the echoing screams in her ears. All she noticed was the familiar floral smell of Emily's detergent, the smell of freshly baked muffins, and the feeling of an older sister hugging her closely.

Growling came from the distance, but both girls ignored it. They had missed each other dearly. It wasn't until someone Lily didn't recognize pulled her away, throwing her into the wall of the house that she realized what had happened. Emily was shouting at Sam, and several different people were filing out of the house. Before Lily passed out, she had two thoughts.

The first was that she hadn't texted Leah that she had made it to Emily's house.

The second was that naturally Bella Swan would be there.
