Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, Langdon took a look-back at everything that's happened to him since becoming part of this quest and realizing he's unintentionally uncovered a lot for his book. And it appears they've beaten the Sorcerer to them, who was sighted flying over the Ancient Grove, not having noticed them somehow. So, will they beat him to the Altar of Poison? Read on to discover...

(Our scene resumes exactly where we left it, with Spyro, Cynder, and Langdon rushing down into the Grove Underground to find the Altar of Poison. And before long, the trio arrives in the Underground)

Langdon: Looks like we managed to beat the Sorcerer here!

Spyro: Now all we've got to do is find the Altar before he catches up.

Cynder: Everybody split up and get looking.

(And just like old times, the group starts looking around, trying to find the next Altar. But before they see anything, Langdon spots something unusual, something that looks like a series of strange holes in the ground)

Langdon: That's odd.

Spyro: What is it?

Langdon: These holes. It looks like a tree used to be here.

Spyro: One kind of did.

Langdon: Then it was removed roots and all?

Spyro: Easy to do when the tree is sapient and trying to kill you.

Langdon: Wait, what?

Spyro: It's a really long story we don't have time to explain right now. We'll swap war stories once all of this is over.

Langdon: Agreed, because man have I got stories to tell.

(As these two finish their discussion, Cynder takes to the air in her continued search for the Altar. And from her airy vantage point, she spots the familiar violet glint of the Altar of Poison, then gives a whistle to signal the guys)

Cynder: Got my eyes on the Altar!

(With that, Cynder flies into the spot where Spyro and Langdon were talking and pulls a gem necklace off the Altar of Poison before returning to her comrades)

Spyro: Nice work, Cynder!

Cynder: I do my best.

Langdon: Now we've just got to get to the next Altar before the Sorcerer can find us. And if I remember correctly, the only element left is Earth.

Spyro: Leave this one to me.

(But just as Spyro makes his way up, a familiar shadow cloaks the scene as the Sorcerer flies in and grabs the necklace from Cynder.)

Sorcerer: Did you really think I didn't know where you were going?

Spyro: We can't let him get that necklace!

(And now the fight begins. Spyro and Cynder are holding off the Sorcerer while Langdon looks for any way he can help in the fight, usually by throwing nearby stones. But ultimately it isn't for much as Spyro and Cynder are thrown off pretty quickly, and into Langdon, knocking all three to the ground)

Sorcerer: Foolish children. You still think you stand a chance against me?!

(At this point, Cynder gets back to her feet and charges again)

Cynder: Considering we took down Malefor? Yeah, I think you're nothing, impostor.

Sorcerer: Ah, so you know the story. Then you know of the birthright I was denied. But now, you have been aiding me in reclaiming what is rightfully mine!

(So now Cynder and the Sorcerer are at it again. But Cynder is still no match for him, and soon is knocked unconscious. Spyro and Langdon see this, but before they can do anything, the Sorcerer breathes a stream of black Fire in-between him and them)

Spyro: Let go of her, you bastard!

Sorcerer: If you want your lady love returned unharmed, you will recover the last of the artifacts and bring them back to where all this started.

(And with that, the Sorcerer flies off, the captured Cynder in tow.)

Langdon: (Seeing this entire scenario play out) Well, now what do we do?

Spyro: We really don't have much choice. We've got to recover the last necklace, and bring our collection back to where this all began.

(With that, Spyro breathes the power of Earth into the Altar of Poison, activating it and casting a violet beam towards the final Altar. Spyro picks up Langdon as he leaves, both following the beam as our scene ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to leave off for now. And as of now, there are 6 chapters remaining until this story's conclusion. So, the Sorcerer has claimed the necklace, and kidnapped Cynder to bribe Spyro into brining the rest to him. So, is Spyro really going to go through with this? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
