Welcome back to The Violet Riddle. Last time, Spyro and Professor Langdon arrived in Tall Plains, seeking the Altar of Earth. But just as they arrived, they were ambushed by the Atlawa, who have for some reason taken them prisoner, probably taking them to Kane. But will Spyro and Kane be able to get our dynamic duo freed to finish their hunt? Read on to discover...

(Our scene resumes exactly where we left it, Spyro and Langdon tied to a pair of posts being carried to what looks like a ritual ground by a group of Atlawa. Within a few minutes of arriving, the posts are positioned vertically, as if the two are being offered to something.)

Langdon: Looks like we're about to be sacrificed to some sort of god.

Spyro: Trust me, if Kane sees this, he'll put an end to it.

(And just as Spyro says anything, another Atlawa, this one clad in blue, enters the scene)

Kane: Can somebody explain what the heck is going on here?

Atlawa Soldier: We caught these two trespassing on our sacred grounds.

Kane: Are you that dense?! Do you not recognize the dragon amongst them? That's Spyro! The one who liberated us from Malefor's confines!

(At this point, the Atlawa look back at who they've captured and realize how badly they screwed up, freeing Spyro from his confines immediately, but leaving Langdon strung up)

Kane: Sorry about that, Spyro.

Spyro: I understand. We should've provided warning we were coming.

Kane: We? (Looks back at Langdon) The human's with you?

Spyro: It's a really long story.

Kane: Say no more. (To the others) Let the human down.

(With that, Langdon is removed from the post he was tied to, allowing him to rejoin Spyro)

Kane: So, what brings you back here?

Spyro: Looking for something. Tell me Kane, have you ever seen a small violet gem sticking up out of the ground or any structure in this area?

Kane: (Thinks about it for a moment) Hmm... now that you mention it, I think I have seen something like what you're talking about. It was in our most sacred of shrines. You know the one, where your Ice Guardian was held? What was his name... Cyril?

Spyro: That's him.

Kane: Yeah, it's in there somewhere. I don't remember the exact location off the top of my head, but it's in that area somewhere. Feel free to take a look.

Spyro: Thanks Kane, finding this thing is of the utmost urgency.

Kane: Then I'll have you personally escorted there. (Gathers a few of his troops) Let's move!

(With the escort gathered, Spyro and Langdon head out, with Langdon just looking at Spyro confused)

Langdon: How did you know this Kane guy would sort everything out?

Spyro: Kane and I go way back. Like he said, I kind of liberated the Atlawa from Malefor's forces back in the day. Ever since Kane's been a pretty close ally. Or at least he feels like he owes me a favor or something. I've never been exactly clear on our relationship.

Langdon: Seems like a good friend to have in a situation like this.

Spyro: He really is.

(As the two have been conversing, Kane and his group have stopped in front of a bridge over the air between two seemingly floating islands.)

Kane: This is as far as we go. The gem your looking for should be on the other side of this bridge. You have to traverse on your own from here on.

Spyro: Thanks, Kane.

Kane: Consider it repaying a debt. Best of luck to you both.

Langdon: Just don't look down, I guess.

(And with that, Spyro and Langdon begin crossing the treacherous bridge, ending our tale for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. So, looks like Kane sorted everything out, and even provided not just the location of the Altar itself, but gave the two a personal escort. So, what awaits on the opposite side of the bridge? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
