Welcome to The Violet Riddle. Last time, Spyro and Langdon arrived in Warfang, with the Sorcerer looking over them as they do. Normally I'd say more here, but there's so much to do in all of this I don't have time. We've got a final battle to get onto. So let's not waste a second. Here we go!
(Our story resumes back where it all began, the crime scene that started this adventure, where the Sorcerer is waiting with Cynder tied to a column nearby. But just as we begin, the door opens, revealing Spyro and Langdon have made their way up.)
Sorcerer: At long last, my guests have arrived.
Spyro: Spare us the speeches, demon.
Sorcerer: Well, that was unnecessarily rude. But, I can appreciate your desire to get straight to the point.
(At this point, Spyro takes the six gem necklaces previously acquired from his neck, holding them up)
Sorcerer: I see you found the last one. Now, hand them over.
Langdon: Release Cynder first.
Sorcerer: (Looking at Langdon with disgust) Very well then, human.
(Knowing they won't back down, the Sorcerer takes off Cynder's gag and cuts her down. Once on the ground, she runs to Spyro, happy to be reunited, but not before he throws the six necklaces at the Sorcerer, who adds them to the three he claimed while Spyro embraces Cynder)
Spyro: I'm so glad you're okay. Has he hurt you?
Cynder: Nothing major. Probably more psychological than physical. (Looks over to the Sorcerer, seeing he's holding nine gem necklaces) You didn't.
Spyro: It was the only way to save you.
Sorcerer: Now to claim what was rightfully mine.
(With that, the Sorcerer lays the nine necklaces where the fallen Guardians once stood. And as if they can sense one another, the ritual reactivates just as it was left off so long ago. As the wind in the room begins to whip around, Langdon looks upon the scene, shielding his face from flying dust)
Langdon: (In his mind) We can't just let this happen! Got to do something, got to do something, got to do...
(But in this moment, Langdon realizes his body is acting on instinct, rushing at the Sorcerer. Realizing he's really got nothing to lose from trying, he rolls with it, and before long has actually kicked the Sorcerer in the head, all those years of swimming giving him one powerful kick somehow, knocking the Sorcerer to the ground)
Langdon: (Under his breath) That was a lot stronger than I was anticipating.
Sorcerer: You DARE strike me, human!?
Langdon: We said we'd get you the necklaces. Nothing about the power.
Sorcerer: (Spits out blood and a tooth that Langdon somehow knocked out) Very well then. You have chosen death.
(Without hesitation, the Sorcerer unleashes a stream of dark energy, knocking the wind out of Langdon and bringing him to the ground, knocking him almost unconscious)
Cynder: Professor Langdon!
(As the two dragons rush to Langdon's side, the Sorcerer can only stand there and laugh)
Sorcerer: Let him serve as an example. This has been in the works for generations! Do not try to stop what was fated!
(Spyro is clearly pissed off as he just charges straight into battle against the Sorcerer, summoning Aether to give his blows something extra)
Spyro: This ends here.
Sorcerer: Indeed it does, you purple oaf. Soon we will be equals and I will be able to finish you off. There may be two Purple Dragons, but only one is needed.
(As Spyro and the Sorcerer fight, Cynder tends to Langdon's wounds while the gem necklaces start spinning in the air, summoning back to them the violet orb that started all of this, and soon, the power is building)
Sorcerer: (Seeing this) Ah, yes! Soon I shall have what was rightfully mine. (Seemingly to the magic) Go! Show them all the second Purple Dragon!
(As if heeding his directions, the magic bursts forth from the center as the gem necklaces shatter. The beam of energy circles the room, seemingly about to hit the Sorcerer, but instead passing him right by, and going into Cynder, who unknowingly channels the energy into healing Langdon before realizing she got hit as Langdon regains consciousness)
Langdon: (Seeing what he can't believe) Is it just me, or are you glowing? (Puts it together) Wait...
Cynder: It's... me?
Langdon: You're the second Purple Dragon!
Sorcerer: Impossible! There must be some kind of mistake!
Spyro: It's no mistake, Sorcerer. You were never the second Purple Dragon. This power was never yours to wield.
Sorcerer: (Now enraged) Fine then. If I can't have what was mine, I'LL PRY IT FROM YOUR CORPSE, CYNDER!
(Now just fed up with the Sorcerer, Cynder turns to face him and, with her full power finally unlocked, hits him with a stream of Aether. He blocks with dark fire, but once Spyro joins her, he's overpowered and forcing him into the wall of the room.)
Sorcerer: DIE!
(But before the Sorcerer can get close, Cynder channels all of the power into herself, and unleashes a familiar sight, several Aether projections of a dragon head, only this time it's hers rather than Spyro's, knocking the Sorcerer out of the window, where he snaps his neck against a nearby rooftop, before landing on the street below, breaking every bone in his body as he lands dead from the snapped neck.)
Cynder: (Settling down as she almost falls over from exhaustion before Spyro catches her) It's over...
(And as the three heroes realize that it is, in fact, over, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to end our penultimate chapter. Next time, the finale, a little epilogue to the story at large. So, Cynder was the second Purple Dragon! Yes, that may have been obvious for some people, but she is really the only candidate that makes sense in the canon. But, at last, our conflict with the Sorcerer is over. So how does this story wrap up? Tune in next time to find out. Same time... same channel!
