*Hello everyone! We have officially wrapped up New Moon! I have decided not to start with a new story to cover the next book. Instead, I will continue writing and posting within New Bloom.
Thank you to both my guest reviewer who feels so much emotion with this story as well as my very first reviewer ever Shola2001! You both gave me motivation to continue writing and I truly appreciate it. I hope everyone who is continuing with this story stays safe with everything going on. *
It turns out cave women may not have been able to eat as much pizza as the girls had tried to shovel down. Lily had insisted on the cheesiest if cheese pizzas, stuffed crust and all. Leah wanted meat lovers galore. In the end they had ordered both types of pizzas.
The girls woke up on Saturday morning hurting to their stomachs, bodies aching from sleeping on weird positions on the couch, and unfortunately for them there were no adults there to help them in heir suffering.
Leah, being the masochist she was, decided they would go for a run. That way, if they got sick along the way it would be an improvement to their day. After all, better out than in as they say.
Leah was a graceful runner. She never seemed to tire, always ready for the next turn in the woods. Lily, while never having been as clumsy as some girls or as athletic as others, was struggling. She liked her garden and her bed. She had a hard enough life before Forks. She didn't see why she needed to inflict physical torture on herself to get better.
Leah hadn't gotten sick once. Lily had lost what she was sure was the only 5lbs she had to spare through various attempts of her stomach training to find its way out of her body. But Leah never let Lily quit. She was sure she would die soon, but every turn Leah somehow mustered the strength in Lily to continue forward. After all, Leah had stated on numerous occasions that she would leave Lily to the wolves, vampires, and other monsters of the forest if she fell too far behind.
Lily supposed that was an excellent motivator if one stopped to think about it.
By the time Leah agreed to stop for a break, Lily was soaked through in sweat. She tried not to think about how badly she reeked either. She was sure Leah could smell every ounce of body fluid she had lost. She wasn't commenting on it, so that was kind of her.
"Lily, you stink. Didn't you put deodorant on this morning?" Lily had spoken too soon.
"Why yes, my dearest darlingest friend, as a matter of facts I did put some on, just like I do every day. I however do not have the excuse of unlimited stamina during these jogs." Lily replied sweetly.
"Lily, you are just as odd as I am. Don't start with me. We are only about a mile away from the end. I just didn't want you to pass out before we got there."
"Leah, you are the kindest angel this planet has been blessed with. Thank you, all glorious Leah!"
"Shut up Lily."
The girls resumed their run back through the forest, unaware someone had been watching the entire time.
Once they had returned to Lily's house both girls showered using hers. Sneaking into the Master Bathroom just seemed wrong, no matter how dirty Lily felt. She could wait while Leah showered first.
Besides, it gave Lily a moment to think about the flowers. They hadn't moved from where Leah placed them down on the counter. They didn't seem store bought, but then again Lily wasn't sure. She had thought of an idea last night deep into the morning. It sounded crazy at the time, but who else would judge her? Leah was in the shower, and if Lily was being honest Leah would support her no matter what.
She took the flowers out of their vase, holding them gently within her hands. Instead of trying to put her energy into the flowers, she tried to reverse the feeling. Instead of giving herself into the flowers to heal them, she tried to get them to tell her what they knew.
She wasn't sure what was going on, maybe nothing. But then, her hands started to tingle and then burn. Not uncomfortable but enough to let her know something was happening. Her eyes started to tingle and burn too.
All of a sudden, she saw something. She was running. Too fast to notice any particular detail. Every once in a while, she would stop running, collect another bunch of flowers, and continue on. The sunlight seemed to catch her skin, causing it to glitter magnificently in the light.
Lily was thrown back into her body, her head throbbing.
What the fuck was that! Her idea worked! She wasn't sure what it was supposed to do exactly, but that was absolutely something new! She screamed for Leah, causing her to scream upstairs and knock something over. A moment later Leah came running down the stairs in a towel, nearly slipping on the staircase in her rush to find Lily.
"Lily! What's happening?! Are we under attack? What's happening?!"
"Leah! I did it! M-m-my idea worked! I didn't know what happened or how, but the flowers showed me who collected them!"
"Lily, what the fuck are you talking about?"
"I did a reverse sensing thing with the flowers! Instead of trying to heal them, I went into them. I saw who collected them. It was… someone fast. he seemed happy…"
"Lily, not to piss on your parade, but I already told you it was a vampire, remember? They're pretty fucking fast. Now, I'm going to finish up showering because I've got shampoo in my eye and it hurts. Tell me more after ok?"
Leah went back up much less hurried this time away, leaving Lily alone with her flowers.
Lily had felt so proud, but understood where Leah was coming from. They already knew it was a vampire so technically Lily hadn't conjured up any new information. Still, it was something new manifesting which was exciting!
Lily took her turn in the shower, washing everything away quickly. She was too excited to stay in and contemplate life like she normally does.
Once she was clean and dressed, she went downstairs to find Leah lounging on the couch with one of their experiment notebooks.
"Alright, so you can talk to the flowers. This was the first time, right? What gave you the idea to try it? Have you tried it on anything still planted? What about trees?" Leah started, ready to write down any answers Lily was able to provide.
Lily plopped onto the couch, thinking back while eating a cold slice of leftover pizza. Leah looked at her as if she were crazy, partaking in the sinfully delicious food after their run.
"I thought about it last night actually. You know how I had been working to channel my emotions and energy into my hands to help heal plants? Well, I thought maybe I could reverse it kind of? Like the psychics did on tv last night. I know, it sounds stupid. But its what gave me the idea. So, I tried, and it worked! It hurt my head, but I didn't get a nose bleed or anything which is a good sign. I know I didn't see anything that provided us with new information, but this is still really cool!"
"I think its awesome! But it needs more testing. We can spend the rest of the weekend testing it if you don't feel too tired after everything?" Leah asked, trying to contain her excitement.
"Let's try it! But first, can we grab some coffee? I could really use something frozen and sweet."
"Lily, you want an abomination, not coffee."
"Oh, hush and let me enjoy my happiness the way I intend to… could you drive? I shouldn't have eaten the pizza after the run…"
Leah just laughed at Lily's misery as only a best friend could.
