Hospital)

It had been a few hours since the Hyuuga matriarch had been brought in by her husband in the hospital with her daughter by her side followed by the leader of the village, Naruto, Hizashi, Shishui and Raiga along with Kakashi and Genma. Once the situation has been told to the doctor, he quickly moved the woman to a room for them to flush out the poison that has been in her system.

Hiashi waited outside the room alongside with his brother and her daughter. Hiruzen came to check in on the family.

"How is she?" He asked with a fatherly tone. Hiashi looked from his brother to the village leader seeing that Naruto and the other jounin that the village leader chose for the little Naruto.

"The doctor told me that both her and the baby are not in immediate danger" Hiashi said with a relieved expression "But they are going to have to keep her under observation as they don't know when he, the doctor, started giving her the poison, so they will be keeping her to make sure that both of them are okay. According to them the poison has been given to her in a minimal dosage so that it won't show any outward reason that she was being poisoned. But the poison was still affecting her." He saw the confused expression on the face of the Inuzuka "The poison was what making her sick, but because the doctor was giving it, she, I allowed her to take poison from the doctor." He tightened his fist which made his nails dug in his hands in frustration, as his brother put his hand on his shoulder giving a sympathetic squeeze. "I was making my wife take poison. I was-"

"You did not know Hiashi." Hiruzen commanding voice came as he stopped the man go down the road of self loathing "You did not know that the person that you put all your faith in was the person that was responsible for the decline in your wife's health. Trust me, I know. I have put my faith and trust on wrong people several time." As he said this the face of his wayward student make his way into his mind but he pushed it back. "But the better choice is to learn and not making mistakes like this in the future and lead to a better time. Your wife is still alive and you have worried daughter to look after too." At this Hiruzen turned to look at the girl who was looking at the door trying very hard to concentrate on the door where her mother was with the doctor and trying to activate her bloodline. "And remember that she is now out of danger." Hiashi turned his head and looked at the seasoned warrior and then turned to look at Naruto who was looking around the room in confusion and a lot of concern and wariness.

"For that I have Naruto" Hiashi then turned to look at the Inuzuka who is supposed to be the new teammate of his brother "And Inuzuka-San to thank for." Raiga being the older and sensible one of the two decided to answer the Hyuuga clan head.

"You do not have to thank us Lord Hyuuga." Raiga spoke in a formal tone "It is our duty as the shinobi and future shinobi of Konoha to protect everyone in the village as such it was our honor that we've got to serve you."

"Yeah" Naruto nodded his head back and forth "What he said?" Hiruzen rubbed his head. He really need to teach Naruto some tact and formal speaking. Not everyone would like someone with a bloodline, especially one like his, and on every aspect not just the dragon one, to be so informal. Hinata after hearing him speak turned to look at the kid and blushed a bit and began fiddling with her dress, which was noticed by everyone except the kid because whom she blushed and the father of said girl.

"No" Hiashi spoke out as he looked at the little kid who instead of looking wary, now that he decided nobody in here was going to harm him with the company that he was in currently, turned to look at the Hyuuga patriarch. "It is our job to pay respect to someone who not only save the member of the family but you saved the life of my wife the head of the Hyuuga family. It will be our honor if I would be able to pay you back." He spoke with much sincerity towards the two people who saved the lives of his wife and soon to be child.

"My brother is already helping in training you." Hiashi said while looking at the Uzumaki child "But because of what you have done today the Hyuuga's owe you a great favour, so for what you have done, in the future if both of you may need any favour from us the Hyuuga clan will stand behind you, that is our oath that we bound ourselves to you in front of the Hokage." As he said that the eyes of the adults widened in surprise as to what Hisashi had spoken about. Naruto on the other hand thought it to be something else.

"Cool" He said with a bright grin, not noticing that behind the man his daughter was supporting a mild blush "So you guys are going to be my freind now."

'I need to teach him about clan politics too.' Hiruzen thought with a sweat drop. But he had other things to take care of too.

"Genma." He called out to the chunin who then stepped out in the front. "Why don't you take the kids out, there are few things that we need to discuss?"

"Yes, Lord Hokage." With that he turned towards Naruto gesturing him to follow. He then turned to look at the Hyuuga patriarch who was talking to his daughter.

"Go with them my daughter." Hiashi told his daughter who was looking at her and pointed towards the two.

"But mommy." Hinata spoke in a timid voice while looking back at door behind which her mother was.

"Will be okay." Hiashi answered his daughter "I promise you, Hinata, she will be alright. Now I want you to go with them, I need to speak something important with the Hokage." With that he convinced Hinata to go with Genma and Naruto. As she walked of towards Naruto with her head down, he decided that he should cheer her up.

"Hey I am Naruto Uzumaki." He enthusiastically said to her with a bright grin but to his confusion her face went red. "Who are you?"

"I-I am Hi-Hinata Hyu-Hyuuga." Hinata squeaked out with a stutter "Its a ple-pleasuer to me-meet you Uzumaki-San."

"Are you okay?" He asks as he saw her face get red with dangerous level.

"Ye-yes I-I am good." Both kept on talking one with youthful exuberance and other with timid stutter. Behind them the adult watch them go one giving out a sigh.

"You have to work on her confidence, Hiashi." Hiruzen said to the Hyuuga patriarch.

"I know she is shy especially around new people, but she never acted that way around someone, maybe something is wrong with her, I should talk to her about it." As Hiashi said this his brother facepalm himself, Hiruzen, Raiga and Shishui looks at his confusion with disbelief and Kakashi giggled while reading another page from his orange colored book. As the look of disbelief subsided, Hiruzen steeled his nerves as he looked at the shinobi that were with him.

"Hiashi" He called to the Hyuuga "Has the doctors gave their clearance to meet her."

"Yes Lord Hokage." Hiashi answered the leader of the village in a serious manner.

"Very well, I would like to talk with both of you regarding what happened back at your clan compound." Hiruzen said as Hiashi led him towards the room. "Jounin Raiga and Jounin Hizashi I want you two come with me, Jounin Kakashi and Jounin Shishui, stay guard by the door." With that Hizashi followed the two leaders while Raiga looked on at the others in confusion but still followed them inside, with Shishui and Kakashi now standing by the door. One reading a book while other looking more vigilant than ever.

When Hiashi entered through the door, he looked towards his wife who was now sitting on the bed as she kept looking on the bed.

"Hitomi." Hiashi gently called out to his wife.

"Hello dear." Hitomi looked up from where she was looking, giving her husband a smile to show that she was okay. "How are you?"

"It should be me who should be asking that question." Hiashi said as he took a seat near the bed and took her hand. Behind him the Hizashi entered the room along with the Hokage and Jounin Raiga Inuzuka.

"Ahh Hitomi." Hiruzen gave out a fatherly smile as he looked at the husband and wife. "How are you?" He asks the Hyuuga matriarch. "How are you feeling?"

"I am much better than before, thank you for asking Lord Hokage." Hitomi said while looking at the leader of their village.

"I know this is not the right time." Hiruzen started as he looks towards the couple "But I would like to know, if both of you could give me any reason as to why the branch house member, tried to poison you." Hiashi looked ready to say something but was interrupted by the kage "Hiashi, I know what you are going to say." Hiruzen brought his hand up to stop him from saying something "I know that this is your clan business but I want you keep in mind that it was not something that happened behind the walls where only Hyuugas were present, it happened when the leader of the village was in your house along with three famous shinobi of Jounin rank, a chunin and the whole Hyuuga council, I can not ignore something like this especially because it happened right in front of me. Not only there was a doctor that was trying to poison you, Hitomi, but he did it in front of me, the Kage of Konohagakure no Sato, the leader of the village that all of us reside in and then the said doctor died just after it was figured out that there was poison in your medicine." Hiruzen paused as he looked at the couple and then turned to look at Hizashi. "Not only it was in a way sabotage and a traitor in the midst of our village but a possible murder while I am around. It is my duty as the Kage to enter this scene, so I would ask again, can you think of any reason, as to why someone would try to kill you."

"I don't know Lord Hokage." Hitomi spoke quietly as she brought her hands to the little bump in her stomach "I treated every member of the clans from both sides with kindness, so why would they try to do that" she then looked up back to the kage with tears in her eyes "the doctor was their with me, he made sure I was okay during my time with Hinata, why would he do something like that- why did he try to poison-"

"It was someone from the main house." Hiashi said looking at the kage as all of their heads turned to look back at the Hyuuga patriarch.

"Wait-wha-what" Hizashi spoke out in surprise "do you mean by it was someone from the main house?" Hiruzen and Raiga both having the same thought as they looked at him.

"Not just the main house Hizashi." Hiashi spoke while turning to look at him "It was someone who was sitting in the council with us."

"And how are you so sure about that, Hiashi?" Hiruzen asks the patriarch.

"Its very easy, Lord Hokage" Hiashi said with a crooked smile as he looked at his brother "The doctor and his family was the part of the branch house, both me and my wife knows that, so does the rest of the clan which means he and his family was marked with the cage bird seal." Hizashi's and Hitomi's eyes widen as they looked at their clan head. "And the way he was killed, someone used the seal to kill him. Now the only reason for them to kill him would be that they would be caught, why would they be caught, he is a doctor whom they've forced to give poison to my wife, if nobody would've found that the poison was their, than he might've been alive, but we found that, and there was no one else there when it was found out that the tea was poisoned except for us and the two branch house member but they don't know how to operate the seal, they are not the culprit, so it only left the main house members who were with us, Negi Hyuuga is off the hook to, he wouldn't kill his own sister. So apart from these there were 11 other main house member who are also part of the Hyuuga council." With that the whole room was blanketed in silence.

"So a member of your own clan council is trying to kill her, the matriarch and second in command of the Hyuuga clan." Raiga Inuzuka said as he looked at him, who in turn nodded his head. "Wow you guys got some serious issue going in your clan." Because of that comment he got four set of glare in his direction which was interrupted when Hiashi sighed.

"You are not wrong." Hiashi said with a tilt of his head.

"Hey don't worry, your clan is not the only one with the black sheep." Raiga said as he looked at the Hyuuga patriarch "Every clan has them, even ours have them, yours just turned out to be a bit more determined and psychotic then others."

"He is right." Hiruzen said while looking at the Hyuuga patriarch "and you still haven't told why would they try to poison her."

"I may have put forward the motion for the removal of the cage bird seal." Now this was surprise to the rest of them. Hizashi turned to look at his brother with hope. "And asked Lord Jiraya for a much better seal than the current one."

"But why would you do that." Hiruzen asks the patriarch "Hasn't the seal been in your family for over a century? Why would you do something that is basically a tradition in your clan?"

"It might be a tradition." Hisashi started "But this tradition has made the whole family against each other. The branch house hate the main house, and the main house loath the branch house. I wanted the hate to subside a bit, and that's why I put forward that notion, and I don't think someone from the main house liked what I was doing."

"So you think that-" Hiruzen started but was interjected by the Hyuuga clan head.

"That someone from the Hyuuga clan elders did not like the fact that I was trying to somewhat normalize the seal, and for that they tried to go after me by trying to poison my wife." Hisashi stated.

"So now you will be trying to find out who was behind this don't you?" Hiruzen asked as Hiashi nodded his head.

"Very well then." Hiruzen said as he stood in his place. "Hiashi you will find that person responsible for harming your wife, for that you will have my full support, you will also report me of the traitor, I would like to know about the person that tried to harm a member of my village, much less high member of one of the prominent clan in the village." Hiruzen then turned to look at Hizashi and Raiga "Jounin Hizashi, Jounin Raiga, would you accompany me to the tower?" He asked the two but all of them knew he was not asking them.

"Yes Lord Hokage." Both said and turned to follow the Kage as went out of the room with Hizashi who turned to look at his brother who gave him a nod of reassurance and gave his wife a side hug.

As the three came out of the room, Hiruzen turned to look at the two who were standing guard by the door.

"Jounin Shishui." Hiruzen called put to the Uchiha prodigy "I would like you to follow me to the Hokage tower with your new teammates." He then turned to the masked ninja reading his book. "And Jounin Kakashi, I want you to go with Chunin Genma and make sure that Hinata comes back to to he parents and then bring Naruto back to the tower, is that understood?"

"Yes, Lord Hokage." Kakashi replied and moved out of the Hospital to find Genma and Naruto. Hiruzen then walked out followed by the three new teammates.

All of them walked towards the tower in silence, watching the evening crowd moving out and about without a care in the world. Hiruzen looked at the people in streets.

"Isn't this lovely." Hiruzen finally spoke while looking at the children that were playing in the field. "All of them, walking, children playing, families having fun." Hiruzen then glanced at the three that were walking behind him "And why is that, do you know?" The three kept on walking as they reached the tower and went in. "Its because of the people in this whole village trusts us. The shinobi and kunoichi to protect them, it is our duty to save these people so that these people and the children could live in peace and comfort, and with that we leave behind a tale, a story and sometimes a legend. And some of those legends come from a well known clans, more specifically the Hyuugas and the Uchihas, two of the most prominent clans, who are also I might add are sister clans along with Senju and one of them helped in the foundation of Konoha, with two of the strongest bloodline limit." He then sighed as he reached his office and activated the sound proof seal and sat on his chair.

"Now tell me what would happen, if these people will find out that someone in these clans are plotting something evil and sinister which could lead to the downfall of Konoha." Both Shishui and Hizashi eyes widened as they shot up to look at kage where as the Inuzuka was more confused then ever. "Yes, I know what the Uchihas are...were planning, Fugaku was kind enough some hints for me to do something about it, and now with someone from Hyuuga clan try to harm the wife of their own leader brought some light onto the Hyuuga clan affairs, I am sure the Hyuuga council is throwing a fit right now , but we are going to ignore that."

"Lord Hokage, if I may." Raiga interrupted as he stepped forward as the Kage nodded his showing he could speak freely "Why do you think that these two clans are planning something that could possibly lead to the destruction of the village, I mean Hyuuga clan is something that is quiet firm in their decision to honor tradition and loyalty where as the Uchiha's has laid down the foundation of this village, so why would they do something like that."

"Well it would not just harm the village, Raiga." Hiruzen said as lit his pipe for smoke "It could also lead to the destruction of said clans, and as to why would they do that." He looked at the three then turned his head to look at the Hizashi "As You, Raiga has said, The Hyuuga's are someone that respect Loyalty and tradition, but you forgot to mention they like their privacy too, so when I was their with whole of the council present, the Hyuuga council felt threatened and also felt I was trespassing on their session, and considering there was a murder attempt and an actual murder, the member who did that will go underground until he finds something to use in his favor so that he could try to overthrow the current leader of the Hyuuga, which is your brother Hizashi. What he did today was in a hurry, because he didn't want to be get caught but he did that in front of me so he will know that I will try to investigate along with Hiashi, so he will have to lay low. Now the tradition part, they believe in tradition but one of them tried to change that tradition, so in turn he tried to have his wife killed by the branch house member so that he could drive a wedge between him and the branch house, which would lead to him taking back his decision of having the cage bird seal removed, now because it was interrupted, he made the mistake of killing the medic in front of me, he has to find another while being subtle regarding it. All in all he will have to work covertly and if he succeeds, there are chances that a war will break out between the main house and branch house which would lead to others being involved in it, the whole scenario is dangerous and terrifying with many innocent children and civilians would come out as casualties." As the kage completed his sentence the Hizashi tightened his fist such that the fingers were dug in so deep that it would make their hands bleed.

"Now the Uchiha's" He then turned to look at Shishui "I cannot actually fault the Uchiha. It is because of the folly of the council that the Uchiha are pushed in that direction. With the news that the person that was controlling the Kyuubi having a sharringan was let out the whole village has been shunning the Uchiha's. They are only treated a little better than Naruto just because they are a famous clan. This had led to the resentment and the hatred to rise among the clan. And because of that recently many of the Uchiha's have gone rogue or are planning nefarious things. Which could lead to civil war in the village." Shishui had his head bowed down in shame, knowing that whatever the Kage has said is true.

"Now, the three of you might be wandering,why I am telling you this?" Hiruzen said as he puffed out a smoke. "I want to save the village." He said as he used his hand to bring the pipe out of his mouth "And sometimes we need to sacrifice something to save something else, I should know, I've sacrificed many things but" The three looked at the Kage as he drew in a large puff "I think we could save everything this time. Granted there will be mistakes and there will be deaths but, we could save the whole village, including your clans. I know that all three of the clans are right now having a meeting regarding the mission that I've provided you with but that is not the only mission I am giving you three." He looked at the three who now stood more straight than ever.

"Your Mission is to save the whole village."
