Chapter .5.

Loki felt better then he has in a long time. He hadn't slept soundly since his soulmates last death. Now she was in his arms he felt better. He would do everything possible to make sure she didn't die this time. He just like Selena were counting the days he had 1,094 days to make this right. 1,094 days to finally stop the curse that kept stealing his Kaetia aka Selena from him.

He WOULD save her this time and this time she WON'T die. He would make sure she lived past her 18th Birthday. He didn't think he would survive if she died again. She WOULD survive even if it killed HIM.

He also wanted to be able to finally marry her. Be the man she actually deserved to be with even though her parents told him he already was.

High King Oberan and High Queen Layla had been furious at his actions in the past. They gave him a dressing down about how Kaetia would be so disappointed in him. He winced he could STILL hear those yells.

He looked at Selena and she looked peaceful. That he was glad about that. As he was sure it had been days since she last slept probably with coming to New York and all that. He can't believe she allowed herself to be arrested and treated like the way she was.

He swore Cornelius Fudge and the Pink Toad would pay for this. Nobody missed with her and lived to tell the tale.

That was why the people he found who murdered her in her lives turned up dead in the most gruesome way. He couldn't wait to do the same for whoever did they and who killed her in her first life.

Suddenly she begins to moan and whimper. Loki quickly gathered her up into his arms.
"My love it is just a nightmare. A memory of time long past. I'm here now. Your protector and knight is right here. I swear to you that nothing will happen to you this time", Loki says croons to her kissing her head

Loki sees her familiars leap onto her bed to help comfort her. The kittens purring at her. The wolves had their nuzzle her half up on the bed. The Sage Serpent Snake was curled up next to her hissing words of comfort same with Spectra.

Selena wakes up startled breathing hard. She had seen one of her most gruesome deaths. She felt arms around her. She was about the thrash out of them when she remembered that Loki had found her again. Well she had found him and he followed to be with her.
She looks up into his emerald eyes so full of concern and nearly wept. She had missed him so much and now it was hitting her just how much she had missed him in the few lives that he didn't find her.

"Kae…Selena are you alright?" Loki asks his voice laced with concern

"I will be. I should have expected this", she tells him
"Why?" Loki asks

"I always get nightmares after I remember. Sometimes even before. But I was exposed to Dementors so I expected them to be worse", Selena reveals to him

"I am so sorry you had to go through that. I'll be with you every night to chase away the nightmares now I'm here unless it is absolutely necessary I am away from you", Loki vows to her gently kissing her

"Thank you my love. Oh how I have missed you these couple of lives", Selena tells him leaning into his chest and stroking Jade

"I have missed you too so much. I couldn't find you. I DID try", Loki tells her

"I know you would off. You can't find me every time", Selena reasons

"This will be the LAST time my Radiant Queen. Because I swear that this curse will be broken before your 18th Birthday", Loki vows to her with conviction

"How do you know that?" Selena asks in a small voice

"Because I can't let you die again. It would kill me", Loki reveals to her leaning his head on hers.

"So we find out who did this", Selena says

"Or find the counter curse first", Loki says to her

"How do we do that? We have been looking for a thousand years", Selena replies

"I hope this time we will have the aid of Mortal Magical's", Loki explains to her

"Mortals have come up with many things before. So they may have a type of counter curse", Selena agrees

The relax on each other happy to be finally together once again. But the clock was saying in was 6.30am.

"I will get changed. I want to be up before the others", Selena tells him

"Probably the best otherwise they would be banging on the door", Loki agrees helping her up

While Selena headed to the bathroom to clean up. Loki uses the second bathroom they added last night so they could court at least some of the way the Elves did. He puts on comfortable clothes but has a couple of daggers hidden encase he had to protect Selena. He wouldn't leave her undefended. But the time he was out so was she. She was slowly plaiting her hair.

"Let me", Loki murmurs coming over

Selena lets him. He always did her hair the best way when he could. She enjoyed having her soulmates fingers running through her hair. It relaxed her. As she was getting tense as she would have to talk more to the Avengers today and they would probably ask a lot more questions.

Not to mention Ronald and Hermione and probably Ginny will badger her all day trying to find out how she knew Loki and why and how she got to New York so quickly.

Sirius was likely to pounce on her with questions and worries. But she would have to be firm with him now. But not hurt his feelings. She knew Sirius was trying to be a father figure but she already had a father who was still alive and probably was holding out hope she would come back. So she didn't need another father but she wouldn't say no to Sirius being like an Uncle figure.

Mrs Weasley would likely try and ask her questions. And most probably put her to work away from Loki which was not going to work. This house was already making her sick with the dark magic. Loki was the only person making the dark magic bearable.

Dumbledore might even interrogate her. Which she wasn't looking forward too. But he and the others would soon learn she wasn't going to give the information they wanted. They would find she was just as difficult to get information out of as Loki.

"What do you think my beauty?" Loki asks finishing her hair

Selena smiles she liked how he plaited it. He even conjured a rose to put in it. She thought it was a sweet gesture.

"My Kaetia I want to give you something back", Loki tells her pulling out a golden locket

It was a locket he had bought for her when they began courting. It was a symbol of their love. He gave this to her each of her lives. Every time she died it would reappear in Loki's hand. It was how when Loki knew she had died when she was away from him in some lives.

"Can you put it back on me?" she asks the words she asked a hundred times before

"It would be my honour", he replies softly putting the necklace around her neck

To Loki it still suited her perfectly it always did. He was glad to have given this too her again. He worked more protective spells on it then before. But it seemed that they always failed when she nearly reached 18.

"Thank you. I love you", Selena tells him kissing him

"I love you too with every fibre of my being. I will love you to the end of days", Loki vows kissing her passionately

"So will I", Selena replies

They kiss again trying to make up for lost time. But they knew they should head downstairs and begin what was she to be an annoying day with all the questions.

Loki pulled away and held out his hand.

"Ready my Radiant Queen?" Loki asks her

She takes his hand smiling.
"As long as you are by my side", Selena replies

"Always"
