A couple of weeks after Clark, Lois, and Kara beat Titan, they still hadn't heard anything about any of the other zoners, so they were just doing their normal thing of going to work and doing chores around the farm. Clark and Lois had both received jobs at the Daily Planet, so that was really keeping them busy, and it was also helping them learn of people who needed help in Metropolis and all around the world. They were hoping that the job would help them find the zoners as well. Not that it had turned up anything so far.
Today they just happened to have a day off, so Lois and Clark were working around the farm while Kara was at school. It was one of the things that she had to do to make it look like she was normal.
Lois just happened to be walking back to the house when a car pulled up in the driveway. She went to meet the person as they got out of the car. "Hey Lana. It is good to see you." Lois said.
"You too Lois. I love the new hair color. What caused you to change it?" Lana asked.
"Well, it is actually my natural color. I just had to die it, but once my hair grows out, I will just leave it that way." Lois said.
"That sounds good. What are you doing here anyways? I thought you would have been at the apartment above the Talon." Lana said.
"I actually moved back in here. Jimmy and Chloe have been bugging me with all the lovey dovey stuff. Plus, they keep me up at all hours of the night." Lois said.
"I guess that makes since. So, is Clark here?" Lana asked.
"Yeah, he is out in the loft. I will walk out there with you. I was just on my way back out there." Lois said.
"Ok, Thanks." Lana said.
The two women walked out to the barn and climbed the stairs to the loft. When Lana saw Clark, she couldn't believe what she saw. "Since when do you wear glasses Clark?" Lana asked.
"I went to the doctor about a week ago and he told me that I needed to start wearing glasses because my eyes are starting to go. It is nice to see you Lana, what are you doing here though?" Clark asked.
"I just needed to talk to you about something, but being that you are both up here, I might as well make the question for both of you. Do you two think I am doing the right thing marrying Lex?" Lana asked.
"I will tell you honestly Lana, I don't think it is a good idea. He will lie to you and anybody else to get what he wants. I am just saying what I think though. If you are happy then I guess you should go through with it though." Clark said.
"What about you Lois?" Lana asked.
"I think the same thing as Clark, but I can't tell you what to do. You just have to follow your heart." Lois said.
"I guess you are right. The fact that there is a baby in the mix is really the only reason why I am sticking around." Lana said.
"Lana are you sure you are pregnant. This is the kind of game that Lex would play to keep you around." Lois said.
"You ask a good question Lois. Maybe I should go and find a doctor of my own to make sure. I am using one of Lex's doctors now." Lana said.
"I think that would be a good idea. We will be behind you whatever you decide to do though." Clark said.
"Thanks Clark. You know I have been wondering for a while, If I left Lex, would you take me back?" Lana asked.
Lois and Clark looked at each other because they hadn't been planning on telling Lana about them this soon, but they figured they might as well with her bringing up a question like that. Lois nodded at Clark giving him her permission to tell Lana the truth.
"I am sorry Lana, but I am with someone else, and I am very happy with her." Clark said.
"Oh. I am sorry that I put you on the spot Clark. If I would have known, I never would have asked." Lana said.
"It's fine Lana. We haven't exactly put it out there that we are together, so you wouldn't have known anyways." Clark said.
"So, who is the lucky woman who has snagged Smallville's most eligible bachelor?" Lana asked with a smile.
Clark walked over to Lois and put his arm around her, and this made Lana shake her head while smiling. "You know I saw this on my first day back from France when we were about to be seniors in high school." Lana said.
"Yeah, I remember what you said. Let's no go into that conversation right now." Clark said.
"No, I think I want to hear about this conversation." Lois said with a smile.
"Well, Clark and I happened to be in the cave at the same time and I said something to the effect of "it is weird that we got over each other so quick", and Clark asked what I was talking about and I said "You and Lois" and Clark made up a whole bunch of excuses for why he didn't like you and then I said "The best ones always start that way". I guess I was right." Lana said.
"I guess you were. So, let us know if you need any help in finding a doctor or anything like that. Our new jobs might be able to help with that." Lois said.
"Where are you two working now?" Lana asked because she hadn't heard about this.
"We are both working at the Planet with Chloe." Clark said.
"I always thought the three of you were good reporters when you worked for the torch in high school. I guess we will be seeing it around the world now." Lana said.
"Well, we aren't on the front page yet, but I am hoping we will be sooner rather than later." Lois said.
"I am sure you will be. I must go now and figure somethings out. I will let you know what I decide and if I need any help. Have a good rest of you day." Lana said as she turned to leave.
"You too Lana." Clark and Lois both said.
After Lana left the barn, Lois turned to Clark and said, "That went better than I thought it would."
"Yeah, it did. So, let's use or speed to get this work done so we can enjoy the rest of our day off." Clark said and they both sped around the farm until all the work was done.
