Lois and Clark had just returned to the farm from a hard day at work at the Daily Planet. They were not getting many leads on zoners, but they were finding out things that allowed them to stop some crimes around Metropolis and Smallville. They knew that they would one day be saving the world but for now they would get their bearings by taking care of Metropolis and Smallville.

They had also found out that Lana had found a doctor of her own and that they had found out that she wasn't even pregnant which made her break off her engagement with Lex. She had wanted to go back to Paris since she loved it so much when she was there two years ago, but Lois and Clark had talked her into staying nearby. They could tell her the reason that they wanted her to stay nearby, but it enabled them to be able to keep her safe incase Lex decided to try and do something to her.

Tonight, Lois and Clark had to go back to Metropolis to try and get an interview with a Senator that was supposedly working with Lex. Mrs. Kent had dinner ready for them when they got home from work because she knew that they would have to leave again soon in order to get that interview. They were now on their way to the restaurant that the Senator liked to eat at, hoping to set up the interview.

"Senator Burke. We would like to set up and interview with you. We work at the Daily Planet." Lois said.

"The Daily Planet you say. Yeah, come by my office tomorrow at 2:00 PM." Burke said.

"Thank you, sir. We will be there." Clark said as he and Lois turned to leave, but they heard a noise with their super hearing.

Lois turned around quick enough to see a man appear out of nowhere and kill the Senator and his guards. The man then turned on she and Clark and was going to try and kill them, but he quickly realized that he was outmatched by the two Kryptonians and he disappeared without a trace.

"Well, that was new." Clark said.

"Yeah, I know that guy. He was at an army base that I was at when I was younger. His name is Wes Keenan. The last thing I heard from my father about him was that he was dead. I wonder how he is here and alive then." Lois said.

"I don't know, but we will figure it out. Let's go home and we will work on this tomorrow." Clark said.

"Yeah, that sounds good, but I don't think I will be able to sleep until we figure this out though." Lois said.

"I understand. Sometimes I think we do our best thinking in the loft, so maybe we can go up there and figure something out." Clark said and Lois nodded as they sped back to the farm.

Clark went in the house quickly to let his mom know that they were going to be in the loft trying to figure out a few things. When he got back to the loft, he saw that Lois was fighting the man that they saw earlier. Clark went to get into the fight and got punched in the face by the guy and he realized that he had been juiced up somehow because he could feel the punch.

"Lois, it feels like this guy is a Kryptonian. I could actually feel that punch." Clark said.

"I know. Me too. Let's take him down and then restrain him and then we can find out what is going on." Lois said.

"Ok, we can take him to the fortress. That is the only place that has somewhere that can hold him." Clark said.

"Sounds good." Lois said and she moved to attack her former friend while Clark used the distraction to knock the man out cold from behind.

"Ok, let's get him to the fortress. Jor-El can scan him and see what is going on once we get Wes there." Clark said as he picked the man up and flew to the fortress with Lois right behind him.

"Jor-El, this man is human, but he has a lot of different powers within him, and we would like to see if you can figure out how this has happened." Clark said.

"I will do what I can my son. What do you want to do once I have found out what is wrong with him?" Jor-El asked.

"If you can remove the powers and whatever is controlling him that would be good." Lois said.

"I will do my best Lois. Is this man your friend?" Jor-El asked.

"We knew each other when we were younger. We lost touch though." Lois said.

"I will do what I can. I will test him now though." Jor-El said and Lois and Clark waited for the results.

"Ok, from what I can tell, this man has been tested on. He has had many powers from meteor infected people and phantoms put in him. He also had a chip in his head that was controlling him. I disabled the chip, and I will see what I can do about the powers. I wonder who could do such a thing to someone like this?" Jor-El asked.

"I will give you two guesses, but you will only need one." Lois said to Clark.

"Lex." Clark said as he shook his head.

"Ok, I have tried but I can't do anything about the powers. The chip is permanently disabled though. He will be fine though. He won't remember anything, but he will need your help to understand what is going on inside of him right now." Jor-El said.

"We will help him the best that we can. I am sure he will want to find a way to still be in the army though." Lois said.

"Then teach him how to use his powers and then he will be able to do that. There is nothing more important than keeping this planet safe." Jor-El said.

"Thank you, father. We will keep that in mind. Now we need to get him back to the farm before he wakes up. He will have to many questions if he wakes up here in the fortress." Clark said as he picked up Wes and flew back to the farm with Lois right behind him.

Wes woke up not long after and Lois and Clark explained things to him.

"Lois, what is going on and where are we?" Wes asked.

"We are at my boyfriends farm. We have a lot to tell you so you need to listen and then we will answer your questions." Lois said and Wes nodded.

"You have been experimented on and now you have powers. You can disappear and have super strength among other things. We will teach you how to use what we can, but you will have to be careful though." Clark said.

"Ok, this is hard to believe. I was injured overseas, and a Luthor Corp. person came in and said that he could give me the chance to continue fighting. Now I find out I have powers. Did Luthor Corp do this?" Wes asked.

"That is our assumption. So, what do you want to do now?" Clark asked.

"I guess I will take you up on that training that you offered, although I don't know how you have powers." Wes said.

"It is complicated, but just know that both of us do and we are going to help you, Wes." Lois said.

"Thank you, Lois." Wes said.

"Well, we can put you on the couch for the night. It is getting late, and we have to go to work tomorrow." Clark said and the other two nodded as they headed to the house so that they could get some rest.
