Lex Luthor had been finding out a lot of things that had happened when he was younger, such as the reason that his father had gone to Smallville on the day of the meteor shower which had led to everything that had happened to him since then, which included him meeting his once best friend Clark Kent. He had come to hate the place because nothing ever seemed to go his way when he was there. He was learning that he would be better off sticking to Metropolis for all of his business deals, but now those so-called heroes were causing him trouble there as well. Why couldn't they just mind their business.
"So, what's the plan today boss?" Lex's assistant asked.
"I don't know Susan. These so-called heroes are destroying everything that I am working for. I know that there are aliens out there and I am trying to find a way to protect the world, and they keep stopping all of my progress." Lex said.
"Maybe it would be best to start working on some facilities that are off the grid. They find all of your places because they are on the records. Maybe if they weren't, you could do what you are trying to do without them stopping you. I believe in you Lex, so go and do what needs to be done and don't worry about the laws right now." Susan said.
"You are right Susan. I think I should have you around more often. How about you meet me at the mansion tonight at 10. I think we could have a lot of fun." Lex said.
"I will be there Lex." Susan said and then Lex left to go to his office.
Susan then looked down at her phone and texted someone. "Lex is taking the bait. It won't be long until we are able to take him down."
Susan then went to the bathroom and took her wig off and you could then see that it was Dinah all along, and she was now undercover as Lex's new assistant.
. . .
"I just got a text from Dinah. Lex fell for the idea of using facilities that are off the grid. She will get the records and then we will be able to put Lex in jail for good." Chloe said.
"That is good. It couldn't happen to a better person." Lois said.
"I just can't believe that I used to be friends with him. If I would have known the type of person that he was back then, I never would have been friends with him. He is nothing like the man that I used to know." Clark said.
"Clark, he has always been like this. I have known Lex longer than you have and he has always been dirty just like he is now. He just found a way to make you believe that he was not like he is." Oliver said.
"I guess you are right. I just wish I had known this from the beginning. A lot of stuff that has happened in the past wouldn't have happened if I didn't become friends with him." Clark said.
"Clark, Lana made her own decision. It was not your fault that she married him. She was the one stupid enough to do that. At least she was smart enough to get out of it finally." Lois said.
"She is right Clark. You can't keep blaming yourself for the mistakes of others." Chloe said
"I know I need to work on that. I just have a problem doing that sometimes." Clark said.
"That is what I am here for Smallville. I will work on you until you know that not everything is your fault." Lois said.
"What would I do without you.?" Clark asked.
"I don't care, as long as you don't have sex here. That is all that matters to me." Oliver said and they all laughed and went back to looking at what Lex might be up to now.
. . .
Lex had found out that his father had been keeping things from him when he found out about the Traveler who was an alien from a planet that had been destroyed and had been living on earth since the first meteor shower in Smallville. He had found out that there was a way to get this alien to do what he wanted and he was wondering why his father had not done this yet.
"Dad, if you know about this Traveler and you knew that you could control him, then why have you not done this yet?" Lex asked.
"Because it was not meant for us to control him unless he became dangerous, and he has not, so it is not our place to control him." Lionel said.
"I can't believe you never used this to your advantage dad. You could have all the power in the world and yet you just let this guy do as he wants. You could rule the world and let this guy do as you tell him, and yet you just sit here and run this company. I would definitely do things differently if I was you." Lex said.
"Like I said Lex, that is not what Veritas was about. We were here to protect the Traveler, and only take control if he became a danger to us, which he has not." Lionel said.
"I guess I just want more out of life than you do dad, because I would have taken control of this guy and used him to become the most powerful person in the world." Lex said.
"You see Lex, that is the difference between you and me. I know that there are other ways to become powerful than using people. That will always be your downfall son." Lionel said.
"Whatever you say dad. I will find a way to get that power and I will end these heroes and anyone who knows about them and is helping them." Lex said.
'Well, I wish you well son. Good luck. Let me know how it goes." Lionel said as he turned and left Lex's office with a smile on his face because he thought it was funny that his son was stupid enough to think that he could actually control Clark.
