It had been a week since Clark and Lois had gone and talked to Lionel about what Lex was planning to do. Lionel finally had some information for them and that was why they were back at Lionel's office at the Luthor Corp. Headquarters.
"So, you have something for us Lionel?" Clark asked.
"I do. Lex is making a trip to Germany. The only thing is he doesn't know that the lock box needs two keys. He can't get what he wants without the two keys." Lionel said.
"So, where do we get these keys so that we can stop this before it starts?" Lois asked.
"Well, I do have one of them and I am going to give it to you. The other I believe is with Virgil Swan's daughter. If you can get to her before Lex does, you should be able to make it to Germany and take control of this object before Lex even knows you are gone. The only problem is, you will need a human to get the object because it wouldn't make much sense to control you if you could touch the object itself." Lionel said.
"That makes sense. We have people who can help with that. So, where is your key Lionel?" Clark asked.
"I have it right here." Lionel said as he took a necklace off and handed it to Clark. "You now need to meet with Ms. Swan. She has taken over her father's studies. You should be able to find her in the same place as you once found Virgil." Lionel said.
"Thanks for the help Lionel. We will let you know how everything goes." Clark said and he and Lois left Luthor Corp. and headed for the Daily Planet.
. . .
That afternoon after work Clark and Lois took off for the place where Vrigil Swan used to do his research in hope of finding his daughter. They walked into the building and talked to the receptionist. "We are looking for Ms. Swan. We were hoping to talk to her." Lois said.
"Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked.
"No, but we do have information that she is looking for. Tell her that we have information on the Traveler. She will know what you mean." Clark said and the receptionist called up to Ms. Swan's office.
"She said to come right on up. Go to the elevator and then go up to the top floor. She will be waiting for you." the receptionist said.
"Thanks." Clark said as he and Lois made their way to the elevator and to the top floor.
. . .
When they exited the elevator a woman about their age was standing there waiting for them. "So, you must be the Clark Kent that my father always talked about?" Ms. Swan asked.
"I am. I know your family and Lionel Luthor are not on the best of terms, but he sent me here. He said that you have a key to some lock box that could hold a device that could control the traveler." Clark said.
"I do have a key, but I am sure that Lionel told you that it needs two keys to be opened." Ms. Swan said.
"He did and he gave me his key. I just need the other one now so that I can get to it before Lex does." Clark said.
"Ok, well I am willing to give you the key since this will help you. I hope you have a person who is willing to get the device for you because you won't be able to touch it yourself." Ms. Swan said.
"We already have someone lined up. We just need the key and then we are ready to go." Lois said.
"Good. Here is the key. Be safe, you two, and I hope everything works out for you." Ms. Swan said.
"Thanks for your help." Clark said as he and Lois left the office and then left the building and flew back to Smallville.
. . .
The next day Clark and Lois met Oliver at his apartment and went over the plan with him. They needed Oliver to be the one to go in and get the device, so they were relaying this information to him.
"So, you need me to go to Germany and get the device so that Lex can't get his hands on it and be able to control you?" Oliver asked.
"That's right. We can have you there in fifteen minutes unless you want to take the time it will take to take your plane there." Clark said.
"Yeah, I think it would be best to do it your way. I have a meeting that I need to be at in the morning and if I take the plane I know I won't be back on time." Oliver said.
"Ok then, hold on tight." Lois said as she picked Oliver up and she and Clark took off into the sky flying to Germany.
It took them fifteen minutes to get to Germany and Oliver was in the bank and looking in the lockbox within five minutes. It didn't take him long to get the device and then leave the bank with it.
"So, what do we have?" Lois asked.
"It is some kind of orb. I don't know how this thing is supposed to control you though, Boy Scout." Oliver said.
"I don't know. The person will probably have to go to the fortress to make it work. I don't know. I am just happy that we don't have to worry about Lex getting his hands on it now." Clark said.
"I can understand that. So, how about you fly me to the fortress where we can put it there for safe keeping." Oliver said and Lois picked him up again and she and Clark flew toward the fortress where they hid the orb and then left to head back to Metropolis.
When they got back they saw that Chloe was at her computer in Oliver's apartment working on stuff for the Justice League. She turned around and asked, "So, did you get the device?"
"We did and it is safe in the fortress for now." Clark said.
"Good. Dinah just called and there is nothing new on Lex for now." Chloe said.
"That's fine. Like you said the other day, this might be a slow go." Lois said.
"So, why don't you guys go out on patrol and I will let you know if anything comes up that is worth you guys looking into." Chloe said as the heroes went and changed into their suits and then left to do a patrol around the city.
