The heroes had not had much trouble since their takedown of Lex Luthor. The most they had had to do was stop normal crime, like muggings and robberies. This gave them time to do stuff that was more personal for them. That means that tonight Lois and Clark were going on a double date with Chloe and Jimmy. They had done this plenty of times before, but for some reason they were going to an upscale restaurant compared to where they usually went on their double dates.

"I wonder what is so important that we need to go to this high price restaurant. We normally do fine with a cheaper place. This had better be good for the money that we are going to be spending here." Lois said.

"I am sure it is, Lois. Plus, we are making pretty good money now that we are two of the top three reporters at the Daily Planet. I think we will be fine." Clark said.

"I know we will, honey. I just don't know why all of a sudden the change-up. Unless there is something important. Like something that has to do with a ring." Lois said, getting excited.

"Don't get ahead of yourself Lois. It might not be anything like that, but I was thinking the same thing." Clark said with a smile.

"Great minds think alike I guess. Well, if that is why we are going to this restaurant, I will forgive Chloe and Jimmy for this." Lois said.

"Like you wouldn't forgive her anyways. I know how you are with Chloe. Now Jimmy on the other hand, you would give him hell for a while." Clark said.

"I know. I like the kid. I just like to intimidate him. It is fun." Lois said and they both laughed because Clark had to admit that it was funny to watch.

"Ok, so let's finish getting ready. We don't need to be late." Clark said as they continued to get ready for their night out.

. . .

When they arrived at the restaurant, they saw that Chloe and Jimmy were already seated. The hostess led them to the table and now they were all seated waiting for their waiter to come and take their order.

"So, what looks good?" Clark asked.

"I am thinking about getting a steak. I don't get to do that too often." Jimmy said.

"That sounds good. I think I might do the same." Lois said.

"Yeah, me too." Clark said.

"I think I am going to get the grilled chicken." Chloe said.

"So, what have you guys been doing with your time now that Lex has been taken down?" Jimmy asked Lois and Clark since he knew about the two being superheroes.

"Just trying to relax as much as possible. Who knows when something might happen that will keep us busy like Lex did." Clark said.

"That makes sense. So Lois, how is everything going with that article that you and Clark are writing?" Jimmy asked.

"Everything is going good Jimbo. Soon, we will be ready for some pictures, so just be ready to come when we call you." Lois said.

"I will be ready. Thanks." Jimmy said.

The waiter then showed up and took their order. The four of them kept up the conversation until the food arrived and then they ate in comfortable silence, which was normally not something that Lois liked to do, but she was getting used to it. Now, it was time for dessert. Lois and Clark ordered a piece of cake that they were going to share. Chloe and Jimmy did the same.

When the desert came out, Lois and Clark went to work on their cake, not noticing what was in the icing of Chloe and Jimmy's cake. When Chloe screamed, that got the attention of the other two at the table.

"What is with the screaming Chloe?" Lois asked as she watched Jimmy pick something up from the cake and wipe it off. This caused Lois to scream as well.

Jimmy got down on one knee and said, "Chloe, you make me the happiest man in the world everyday. Would you do me the honor of doing that for the rest of my life? Will you marry me?"

"Yes, of course I will. Yes!" Chloe said as Jimmy slipped the ring on her finger and stood up to kiss her.

"Congratulations!" Lois said as she walked around the table to hug her cousin, then she looked at Jimmy and said, "You hurt my cousin, they will never find your body."

"I don't plan on doing that." Jimmy said and Lois could tell that her threat had worked.

"Good, now let's get back to the desert." Lois said as she went to sit down and started on the cake again.

"Congratulations Chloe and Jimmy. I am happy for you both." Clark said as he hugged them both then went back to sit beside his girlfriend.

The rest of the night went well. The girls talked about planning the wedding and the guys talked about sports and anything that guys would talk about. Soon, it was time to go home and after the excitement of the night, the two heroes knew that they would be up for a while, so they then went on a patrol to lose some of the pent up energy that they now had. It didn't take long for them to see that nothing was really going on, so they went home.

. . .

Once the two heroes returned home they were still amped up from the night they had just had. "Smallville, I am still amped up. I won't be able to go to sleep for hours at this rate." Lois said.

"What do you want me to do about it Lois? I am in the same boat as you. I guess we could watch a movie or something and see if that calms us down." Clark said.

"We could do that, orrrr." Lois said as she held out the last word.

"What are you thinking?" Clark asked.

"I think we should go and test out how sturdy the porch swing is again." Lois said with a seductive smile.

"I like the way you think." Clark said as he picked Lois up and sped out to the porch swing and started to work off their excess energy they had built up from their great night out.
