It was only a couple of more days that Lois' father and sister would be in town. She had in a way fixed things with her father, but she hadn't had a chance to talk to Lucy by herself yet, which was why she was dragging Lucy out to the loft in the barn so that they could have a private conversation.

"What is so important that you had to drag me all the way out to the barn Lois? Couldn't we have just talked in the house?" Lucy asked.

"I guess we could have, but there is more privacy out here. I just want to say that I am proud of you for the way that you are trying to turn your life around. If I had done a better job of keeping an eye on you when we were younger, you might not be in some of the situations that you got yourself into over the years." Lois said.

"You did a great job with me Lois. At the time I didn't like the fact that you were bossing me around since you weren't mom. Now that I look back on it, it wasn't fair to you that you had to raise me and I could have been easier on you than I was." Lucy said.

"You know, after you were here a couple of years ago I was scared that Lex might come after you to get his money back. I think Clark talked some sense into him since he never went after you or me." Lois said.

"Clark is a good guy. I am glad that you finally decided to give each other a chance. I could see the attraction between the two of you when I was here last time. That is why I flirted with him, to see if you would get jealous, and boy did you." Lucy said.

"I am glad that we are together too. So, are there any boys in your life right now?" Lois asked.

"I have been on a few dates, but nothing to write home about as of yet." Lucy said.

"You will get there one day. So, I was wondering if there was anything that I could do to help you stay on the straight and narrow?" Lois asked.

"Well, I was wondering if maybe I could stay here for a while. I would like to get to where we are on better terms with each other. I think it would be good for me to stay here and I will actually help out around the farm since I know some of what goes on around here." Lucy said.

"I would like that, but I do have a condition if you are to stay here." Lois said.

"And that would be?" Lucy asked.

"You either enroll in Central Kansas University or Met U. If you want to stay with us, you will get your education. It is one thing that I regret. I wish I had finished school." Lois said.

"I can do that. Why don't you go back to school then?" Lucy asked.

"I have way too much going on now. I am at the Daily Planet for long hours and when I am not there I am busy with my other life and saving people" Lois said.

"I guess that does make sense. So, I will enroll in college and when next semester comes around I will start my classes." Lucy said.

"That's good. Let's go and tell dad what is going on. I wonder how he will react to this?" Lois asked and the girls went back to the house to talk to their father about Lucy staying here with Lois, Clark, and Kara.

. . .

The girls got their father and led him to the living room of the Kent house. They all sat down and the General could tell that something was going on.

"So, it looks like the two of you have something to say or have a question for me. Go on. I am listening." Sam said.

"Daddy, I want to get on better terms with Lois and the only way that I know to do that is if I stay here with her. She has already said that if I stay here I will have to go to college and I am willing to do that. So, I guess what I am asking is, is it ok for me to stay here with Lois?" Lucy asked.

"Although I hate the fact that you won't be with me, I was hoping that you girls would decide to do this all along. This place did wonders for Lois and made her grow up. Maybe it can do the same for you. Plus, I think being away from the city would be good for you as well." Sam said.

"Thank you daddy. I am so happy that you see things our way." Lucy said.

"Lois, if she gets in any trouble I will be taking her back to live with me, so make sure you keep an eye on her." Sam said.

"I will daddy, but please don't put it on me if she gets in trouble. It is her actions that cause her to get into trouble, not mine." Lois said.

"I agree, and I know the last time that happened I was not fair to you. I regret that and I wish I could change it, but I can't. From now on I will not take out Lucy's mistakes on you." Sam said.

"Thank you. I am glad that I was able to get that off of my chest. I have been holding onto that for a while." Lois said.

Just then Clark walked into the house after finishing the chores for the day. "So, what are you three up to?" Clark asked.

"We were just asking daddy if he thought it was ok for Lucy to stay here and go to school and get on better terms with me." Lois said.

"That's good. I am glad to have you here for a while Lucy." Clark said.

"Thanks Clark. So, it is getting close to dinner time. What should we do tonight?" Lucy asked.

"I say let's get out of here and actually go to a restaurant." Lois said.

"Sounds good to me. Let me shower then we can head out." Clark said as he left to shower and the others waited for him to be done so they could go and get something to eat.
