It had been two weeks since the team had come up with their plan to get rid of Doomsday once and for all. They still hadn't come up with a better idea than flying the monster out into space and throwing him into the sun. So, that would be the plan for now. Oliver had even made himself a suit that would allow him to go into space with the others and give them a helping hand.
"So, you guys really haven't come up with anything better than throwing the monster into the sun?" Chloe asked as the team had met up in Oliver's penthouse.
"Nope. I don't think it is that bad of an idea though." Lois said.
"There is a lot of stuff that can happen between when you take off and when you get to the sun. I am just worried for all of you." Chloe said.
"I understand that Chloe, but with three Kryptonians and the suit that Oliver made, we should be fine." Clark said.
"What about John Jones? Couldn't he help you out as well?" Chloe asked.
"That is a good idea Chloe. I will talk to him about it later." Clark said and Chloe nodded in appreciation for Clark really thinking that her idea was good.
"Ok, so is there anything else that we need to talk about here?" Lois asked and all of the other heroes that couldn't make it to Oliver's were on the screen shaking their heads in the negative.
"Well, if that is the case we will call it a day and if the monster does show up, we will be in touch." Oliver said as he cut the calls to all of the other heroes.
"So, how long do you think it will be before that thing shows up again?" Oliver asked.
"Not sure, but I am going to go and talk to John now so that we will know whether he is on board with the plan or not." Clark said as he flew out the window and toward the precinct that John Jones worked at.
. . .
Clark walked into the precinct and saw that John was at his desk. He walked up to the older man and asked, "Hey John, do you have somewhere that we can talk in private?"
"Sure. Follow me." John said as he led Clark to one of the conference rooms in the precinct. "What can I do for you, Clark?"
"You remember the monster that attacked a couple of weeks ago I am sure?" Clark asked.
"Yes. What's the problem?" John asked.
"We are making plans for when it finally comes back. The best one that we have right now is flying it to the sun and throwing it in. We could use the extra hands if you are available." Clark said.
"I would be happy to help. Do you have any idea how long we are talking before it makes it back to earth?" John asked.
"Not a clue. We will be in touch when it does show back up though." Clark said and John nodded.
"Sounds good. I hope for everyone's sake that thing never shows back up though." John said.
"You and me both. So, thanks for the help. We will contact you if or when the time comes." Clark said.
"Ok. See you later Clark." John said as Clark left the building and flew back to Oliver's place.
. . .
When Clark arrived back at the penthouse, everyone looked at him and were wondering what he had found out. "So, is our Martian friend going to help us out?" Chloe asked.
"Yeah, he is in. We will still need you for backup Oliver." Clark said.
"I am up for that. So, I know we never really talked about it before, but what do you think that thing is?" Oliver asked.
"I don't know for sure, but I know that it is not from this world, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is some kind of Kryptonian project that didn't go right and for some reason it was sent to earth." Clark said.
"I just wonder why someone would send that thing here knowing that it was so dangerous." Lois said.
"I agree. I was wondering that as well." Chloe said.
"We all know that all Kryptonians weren't as good as some houses on Krypton. This being said, they probably found out that Kara and I were being sent to earth and they didn't want us to live so they sent that thing after us." Clark said.
"That sounds like something that Zod would do. He used to be a friend to our family, but when he felt that Jor-El betrayed him he turned on our family and would do anything to make sure that none of us lived." Kara said.
"Well, that sucks. That thing is harder to kill than the three of you though. I wonder how that is possible?" Oliver asked.
"I don't know, but whoever made it probably made it so that it wouldn't be able to die somehow. Probably something like if it is exposed to something once it will be immune to it from then on." Kara said.
"That is disturbing. Do you really think the sun will work though?" Chloe asked.
"I hope so. I think it is the best bet. With how hot the sun is, I don't think that anything can survive being thrown into it. Not even us." Clark said.
"Well, if that is the case, you guys need to make sure that it doesn't turn the tables on you and throw you in instead." Oliver said.
"We will make sure that doesn't happen, and if for some reason it does, we just need to make sure that we hold on to it tight and take it with us." Kara said with a grim look on her face knowing that it was possible for this to happen.
"I won't come to that. So, is there anything else that we need to discuss tonight?" Clark asked.
"Not that I can think of." Oliver said.
"Good. It has been a long day. I am ready to go home and get some rest." Lois said as everyone else nodded and left Oliver's penthouse.
