Everything was going well now that Zod had been taken care of. All of the Kryptonians were fitting in well and causing no problems. This was a time of peace and all of the heroes were going to take advantage of that.
Clark and Lois had decided that they were going to go out on a date and just have a fun night out on the town. Clark had made a reservation at one of the best restaurants in Metropolis and then they were going to go to the Ace of Clubs to meet up with the others.
"So, what made you decide to make a reservation here? I know this place costs a pretty penny." Lois said.
"I thought we deserved a good night out and I didn't want to hold anything back, so here we are." Clark said.
"Well, I am happy that you did this, but you know that I would have been just as happy at a diner or something like that." Lois said.
"I know. We just do that so often that I wanted to do something different." Clark said.
"This is definitely giving you some brownie points. If you keep it up you might get lucky tonight." Lois said with a smile.
"Not that that is what I am doing this for, but if it is something that is on the table, I won't turn it down." Clark said and they both laughed at that.
Soon the waiter came and took their drink and food orders and told them that it would be out shortly. They continued to talk and laugh until the food arrived at which point they were both quiet until they were done. Clark asked Lois if she wanted desert and she had said that she did. Lois didn't notice the hand off between the waiter and Clark.
Once the desert came out Lois looked down at it and was shocked at what she saw. Positioned on the top of the piece of cake was an engagement ring that she had seen many times before. It belonged to Martha Kent.
Clark walked around the table and got down on one knee and said, "Lois Lane, I know our friendship didn't start off in the best way possible, but soon we became friends and then you became my best friend. I couldn't picture my life without you. I didn't know how I really felt about you until that night that we were both dosed with drugs and then I knew that I loved you. We have been through a lot since that night and because of that I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Lois, will you marry me?" Clark asked as he retrieved the ring from the cake.
"Yes, I will marry you, Clark." Lois said as Clark slipped the ring on her finger and they stood up and kissed.
They then sat down and ate the desert and then Clark paid the bill so that they could make their way to the Ace of Clubs and celebrate with their friends.
. . .
It didn't take Chloe long to recognize the ring on Lois' finger and she screamed as she and Lois hugged. Congratulations were given from all of their friends and they all had some champagne to celebrate.
A slow song came on and Lois dragged Clark out on the floor and they started dancing.
"This is probably one of the best nights of my life. Thank you, Smallville." Lois said.
"Well, I love you and I thought it was time that I make you an honest woman." Clark said.
"Clark, we did that a long time ago, when we had our Kryptonian wedding." Lois said.
"I know, but I wanted an earth wedding as well and I knew that you wanted one so that all of your family and our friends could be there too." Clark said.
"You would be right. Remember what I told you at the restaurant earlier?" Lois asked.
"We talked about a lot. You will have to refresh my memory." Clark said.
"You are definitely getting lucky tonight. Most likely more than once." Lois said.
"Geez Lois. We just got here and now you got me all hot and bothered. We can't leave yet though. We are here to hang out with our friends after all." Clark said.
"Who said anything about leaving?" Lois asked as she whispered in his ear while nibbling on it.
She then grabbed his hand and led him off of the dance floor and toward the restrooms, where she then led him into the ladies room and locked the door behind her. Five minutes later, they were making sure they looked in order as they walked back out to where their friends were.
"Hey, where did you guys go?" Chloe asked.
"We both had to use the restroom." Lois answered.
"You were gone for five minutes, Lois. Did something happen and the two of you were needed?" Jimmy asked.
"Yeah, that's what happened. We heard something and we had to go and take care of it." Clark said.
"Well, why didn't you just say that in the first place?" Oliver asked.
"I am used to not talking about that kind of stuff in public, so I thought it was best to stick with that." Lois said and Oliver nodded his agreement, because he understood that.
"I don't buy it." Jimmy said.
"What do you mean? It is a perfectly logical reason for them to be gone for five minutes." Chloe said.
"Yeah, but look at them. Their clothes are a bit wrinkled and Lois' hair isn't in the bun that it was earlier." Jimmy said.
"What's your point?" Chloe asked.
"I see where he is going with this, and Clark was too quick to answer the question about going out on a save." Oliver said.
"I am still lost here, guys. Lois could have let her hair down because she went out on a save and she just didn't want to worry about putting it back up." Chloe said.
"Yeah, I don't think so. I think they really were in the restroom, just not using it for what it is really for." Jimmy said with a smile.
The light lit up in Chloe's head now and she looked at her friends. "Oh my God! You two had sex in the restroom didn't you?" Chloe asked.
Clark and Lois both blush at this. "Oh my God! You did, didn't you?" Chloe asked and they still didn't answer but the look on their faces was enough for her.
"Nice. I am glad you guys are celebrating and all, but you could really do a better job at making yourselves more presentable. Not that you did a bad job, and if we weren't who we are, we probably would have never noticed, but we are used to noticing irregularities, so that was easy to spot." Oliver said.
"We will keep that in mind for next time." Lois said and they all laughed as they all got back to having fun and celebrating.
