"Alright."
Goku grabbed Zamasu's hand, and a bright light was suddenly emitted. Goku had to cover his eyes from the brightness. But when the light cleared, and Goku uncovered his eyes…there was nothing. Goku got up and looked around, confused. The saiyan then suddenly heard Zamasu's voice say,
"Hello Goku."
Goku was shocked, looking around and asking,
"Zamasu?! Where are you?! What just happened?!"
Zamasu's voice then said,
"This was the only way to save you, Goku. That was a forbidden technique called soul merge. It allows a dead or godly being to merge their soul with another to give them strength. For godly beings, they are still able to talk to their merged partner."
Goku was amazed that there was such a technique as that, but then asked,
"So…what do I do now?"
Zamasu replied,
"Find a city and destroy it. That will attract the others."
Goku hesitated. He was being asked to kill hundreds who had nothing to do with what happened. He said to Zamasu,
"But-"
Zamasu interrupted,
"They aren't truly the people they were. They're just copies, fakes. This is a mercy. You'll be freeing them from this existence that never should've been."
Goku gritted his teeth, but flew away. He found the nearest city and looked down. He didn't want to do this, but Zamasu kept acting as the devil on his shoulder. The saiyan thought back to Zamasu's words and realized he was right. These people were just fakes, imposters. This would be a mercy. But still, he hated having to do it.
Goku cupped his hands and began charging a kamehameha. He saw the people on the ground notice him and look up in fear. The saiyan sighed at what he was about to do, and whispered,
"I'm sorry."
The kamehameha was then fired, and the entire city was obliterated.
Trunks walked out of the training room with sweat covering his face. Ever since the Buu incident and the death of the Supreme Kai and Kibito, as well as the near death of Goten, Trunks had continued training even harder than ever. He wondered about what had happened to the other timeline. Had they encountered the kais and Babidi?
He hoped they were okay. If Gohan had kept training, he was confident that he would be able to defeat Buu, even if he was revived. If only Goten hadn't stopped training to focus on his family, he could've been a great help. As it was, Goten could barely use grade 3. Trunks then suddenly sensed a huge spike in energy, and then a bunch of ki's disappeared.
Goten then came running into the room and yelled,
"Trunks, I can't sense Rika's ki!"
Trunks was shocked to hear this, and both he and Goten realized what this meant. A few months ago, Goten had had a vision of a being that looked like his grandfather Bardock destroying a city. They didn't know why or how it could be him, but it looked like the prophecy had come to pass.
Goten left his children with Bulma and Pan, who promised to keep them safe along with Videl. With that done, the saiyan brothers quickly flew off, and found exactly what Goten had seen in his vision: East city reduced to rubble, with a man whose hair was the same shape as a young Goten hovering above it. However, Trunks noticed something off about the man.
His clothes were that of a martial artist, certainly not saiyan armor. In addition, his ki felt identical to Rikku's, but lightyears more powerful. The man then turned around and faced them. His face was cold and stony, but when he saw Goten, his face contorted with rage. Faster than Trunks and Goten could react, the man grabbed Goten by the neck and said,
"You…You should've never been born."
Trunks was shocked. He didn't even see the man move. But he then powered up to super saiyan two. Whoever this man was, he clearly didn't have good intentions. The half saiyan attempted to spin kick Goku, but he blocked it with one hand.
Goku was surprised. Trunks had actually been able to achieve super saiyan two. This could be fun. Goku let go of Goten and punched Trunks in the face. Trunks was sent flying back, quickly recovering and firing a masenko. Goku deflected it with one hand and kicked Trunks in the face. However, before Goku could fire another attack, he was blasted in the back.
The saiyan turned around and saw Goten in super saiyan grade 3, having just used a kamehameha. Goku, more disappointed than angry, said,
"Really? That's all you can do? That form is useless for actual combat."
Goten replied,
"It may be, but it's great for distractions!"
Before Goku could ask what Goten meant, he was kicked in the face by super saiyan two Trunks. The saiyan was sent flying into Goten, who spiked Goku like a volleyball. Goku flew towards Trunks, who yelled,
"ULTRA VOLLEYBALL ATTACK!!!!"
Trunks then spiked the saiyan into the ground. The half saiyan waited for the smoke to clear, and was shocked when he saw Goku get up completely fine. The saiyan looked up at Trunks and said,
"Hmph, I guess some things never change."
Goku flew up into the air and got into a fighting stance. Goten reverted to super saiyan grade two, and he and Trunks launched at Goku from separate sides. However, the saiyan instant transmissioned out of the way, causing Goten and Trunks to collide with each other. Goku then punched Trunks in the back of the head, causing him and Goten to go flying.
When the two got up, they saw Goku charging a kamehameha. Goten was shocked, yelling.
"How the heck does he know that?!"
Trunks wasn't focusing on that. If this guy had the same ki as Rikku, and the same face as Goten's grandfather, then it would make sense that he had similar techniques. Trunks then said,
"Goten, we'll need to use our full power for this! Get ready!"
Goten then snapped back to his senses, powering back up to grade 3 and cupping his hands together. Trunks did the same. The two then began charging their own kamehamehas, saying in unison,
"Kaaaaaaaaaa, meeeeeeeee….."
Goku smirked and said,
"Alright, let's see what you two can do against this!"
Goten and Trunks, their focus being solely on powering up their blast, said,
"Haaaaaaaaaaa, meeeeeeeeeeee…"
In unison, the three then yelled,
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
Brilliant lilac beams of energy shot from each of their palms and collided. The struggle was intense, and the entire planet shook under its weight. However, Goku seemed to be toying with Goten and Trunks, as he wasn't putting much effort into his blast. In contrast, Goten and Trunks were struggling to hold his blast back.
Trunks gritted his teeth, refusing to give in. He wouldn't let this random invader destroy everything he had worked for. Trunks tapped into his rage, and flared his aura, letting out a mad roar. His kamehameha suddenly increased in size, causing the two blasts to explode together, blasting the three fighters back with its shockwave.
When they all got up, Goku rushed at them, decking Goten in the face and elbowing Trunks in the nose. The two fell to the ground in pain. Goku then held out his palm, ready to finish them with a ki blast…but stopped. He then looked at the younger saiyans and told them,
"You two are pretty strong, a lot stronger than I thought you would be. I'll let you live for now. When you next see me, you better be stronger."
Goku then put two fingers on his forehead and teleported away. When he appeared on Mount Paozu, he sat down on a log. He then said to the Zamasu in his head,
"You know, those two gave me an idea. If they're two people fighting just one me, then maybe I could get a partner too. But who?"
Zamasu then said,
"I have the perfect idea. The version of myself from this timeline hasn't enacted the zero mortals plan yet, but we can fix that. You need to kill my former master Gowasu."
Goku was about to say something, but he then noticed something on the grass in the same spot Zamasu fused with him in. Goku walked over to it and picked it up, seeing that it was a silver ring with an infinity symbol. Confused, he asked Zamasu,
"What's this?"
"Ah yes, I forgot about that. That is a time ring. It is a method of time travel that only Supreme Kais are allowed to use. But mortals can use them."
"So this is like a mini time machine?"
"...Essentially."
"Cool! How do I use it?"
"Focus on the time and place you wish to see, and imagine it manifesting."
Goku did as Zamasu told him, closing his eyes and envisioning the new planet Namek in the year 767, when he had been there last. He then heard something. Goku opened his eyes and saw a black portal in front of him. Goku was amazed by this and said,
"Whoa, cool!"
"Good. now use it to go to universe 10. I will show you an image of it in your mind."
Goku's eyes then widened as his head was suddenly filled with images of a supreme kai world that was different yet similar to the one he knew. Once it was done, Goku asked,
"Whoa, you can do that?!"
"Yes, one of the perks of our merge. Another perk is that you've inherited some of my kai energy, which should allow you to use the kai kai. Now use it to go to the world of kais in Universe 10."
Goku then closed his eyes, thinking about the world of kais and manifesting himself teleporting there. The saiyan then uttered,
"Kai Kai."
Goku then appeared on the world of the kais he had seen in his vision, seeing an older yellow supreme kai setting at a table. Zamasu's voice then piped up and said,
"That is my master, Gowasu. The only way you can convince myself from this timeline to join in our plan is to kill him. Don't worry, it will be a necessary sacrifice."
Goku looked at Gowasu, hesitating a bit, but he knew what he had to do. The saiyan made a ki blade and charged at Gowasu, killing him. When the deed was done, Goku waited until Future Zamasu came out with tea. Goku, at his Zamasu's instruction, told Future Zamasu about the zero mortals plan, which was Zamasu's original plan.
Goku didn't know if he wanted to go through with it, but Zamasu once again acted as the devil on his shoulder, convincing Goku that these people weren't real, and that once they were done they would kill Zeno and restore Goku's world. The future Zamasu readily agreed, and the other Zamasu told Goku about something he found interesting, and said,
"We must find the wish orbs now."
"Wish orbs? You mean like dragon balls?"
"Yes, I suppose you could call them the 'super dragon balls.'"
"Alright, but where do we find them?"
"The orbs are split between the 6th and 7th universes."
The confused Future Zamasu then interrupted, asking,
"Who are you talking to?"
"Oh, I soul merged with yourself from another timeline."
"Soul merge?! That's forbidden!"
Future Zamasu thought of attacking Goku for this, but realized that he was far too strong for him. And so, Goku and Zamasu traveled through universes 7 and 6, gathering the super dragon balls. Once they were done, Future Zamasu summoned Super Shenron using the language of the gods. The dragon's sheer size and golden color amazed Goku.
The only Shenron he had seen that was anywhere near this size was Ultimate Shenron, but even he was small in comparison. This dragon's presence felt, for lack of a better term, godly. Future Zamasu then asked Super Shenron to grant him immortality. The wish was granted, and as soon as it was, Zamasu destroyed the super dragon balls with a ki blast.
A confused Goku asked,
"Why did you do that?"
Future Zamasu replied,
"We won't need those anymore. With immortality and your power, the zero mortals' plan is unstoppable."
Goku realized that Zamasu had a point, and teleported them both back to mount paozu. A confused Zamasu asked,
"Why are we here?"
Goku somberly replied,
"...Sentimental reasons. This'll be our base."
The saiyan then looked to the sky. He was a leftover, the last piece of a dead universe. But he swore that it wouldn't be that way for long. He would kill these false mortals, kill Zeno, and then restore his world with the super dragon balls. Goku would have his revenge.
Author's note: Welp, I'm sure you're very surprised! Yes, now that I've finally learned how to make multi chapter stories, this is getting finished. The next chapter will either be an explanation about the Buu arc in this timeline, or an adaptation of episode 47. I'm not sure, oh, and I'm not going to be covering ROF or the universe 6 tournament as they would've gone pretty much the same.
