He promised her, he promised him, he promised himself that he would promise them. Could he keep those promises, sure, he had already ascended, but could he contain himself, hold back. Surely since he had seen what the drag of that lust could do to him, to others, to the world, he would be able to resist. Seduction so powerful, so wonderful that none could stand up to it, those who tried ultimately failed if they were of a weak nature. Nevertheless, had he not done what was right in purging Chase from their midst. He was prepared to die for the group, hoping he would not, but knowing he had little chance of winning.
His father, his wretched, wonderful father and done the unspeakable, had done just what Chase's father had done. Willed his power away, the only difference was that Chase had wanted the power, Caleb had been decidedly against the decision his mother had made. His father was gone, gone like dust on the wind, gone with the last word of that evil saying which had been forbidden. Now he knew just why everything has a reason, he knows that life is fleeting, and rules must be obeyed. He will no longer live the opposite of his father, but more for the good of his friends, he would as he had almost done only nights ago give the most important thing, his life. His soul may wander the astral planes forever, if only to give peace to those he held dear. However, until then, he would try to keep the others on a leash, more so now than before. For know the danger of the coming months may prove fatal if he did not prepare for it.
