Hey guys, here's another chapter. I feel like i left you guys with the cliffhanger long enough. Also to one , with the fighting it got progressively harder. For example Beth is a fairly new hunter and she didn't land a hit on him. However then Atlanta was a good archer and fighter so she got some licks in but not many. Then Tara and Pheobe landed a good amount of hits as I wanted to establish them as the good fighters in the hunt. But I see where you're coming from and i'll take it into consideration.

Also, just a warning there is a slight announcement at the end of the chapter so be sure to read that. Now on with the chapter.

/Sorry for the re upload, there was a major point in this chapter I forgot to put in. Thanks keeperofmagick for reminding me.

Chapter 14

Immediately they all turned towards the scream, alert and ready to fight. Artemis jumped from her perch drawing her weapons.

"Okay hunters, I want you all to bring your bows out first. We'll find out what it is, then if need be we'll fire from a distance for as long as we can."

They all nodded but Percy stood there confused, he couldn't fire a bow.

As if Artemis read his mind she looked directly at him and said,

"Since you can't fire a bow, you can stick with us but if its bad you can go and fight whatever is there."

He smiled, almost sadistically for a second, but then it disappeared.

But it was there long enough for Artemis to notice. She frowned and turned back to the thing at hand. She'll worry about that later.

"Okay hunters, lets go."

They all hurried towards the scream, quickly but quietly. There, in the middle of a camp was a small girl. About 8 or 9, being backed into the corner by...

"Medusa!?" Percy whispered shocked from next to Artemis.

But she shook her head.

"Its one her sisters. There were two other gorgons. They can't turn people to stone, but they can still be just as dangerous. We need to be cautious."

Everyone nodded, realising this was serious.

"It's my daughter."

Everyone jumped and turned to see Apollo standing there.

"Apollo what are you doing here? We're about to fight these gorgons" Artemis asked in confusion,

"I tried to guide my daughter to your camp, I thought she could join. Her mother just died and I wanted her to have a home. But the gorgons caught scent of her. I can't fight them but I thought of a way I can help."

For the first time that Percy had known him, Apollo was being serious. He cared about this girl, a lot.

He turned towards Percy. I know I can't teach you how to use your powers just yet, but I can give a quick tip. These gorgons are tricky, they're quick and agile. But if you could blind them with a bit of light, just for a second. It'll give you an advantage. Unfortunately, you're going to need to have a light source that isn't the sun to manipulate. Using the sun would be... problematic. But if you can get a bit of light shining, even if its just a reflection, then use it. Imagine it flaring, pour a bit of power into it, and make it burst. It'll have similar effects to a flash bang."

Percy nodded, now knowing what he had to do.

Artemis looked at her brother,

"Thank you brother, we'll do what we can to save your daughter."

Apollo smiled sadly,

"Thank you, just make sure she's safe. I'm sorry I can't do more, but i'll do what I can."

Then he flashed away, leaving the hunters to the fight.

"Okay girls, I want half of you to flank around the tents. Try and get to the girl and keep her safe. The rest of you once its clear, I want you to fire arrows at the gorgon. Percy and Thalia, you can get close. Do what you can and try to end them."

They all nodded and got into positions.

"Now go!"

Half the hunt started sneaking around the tents hoping to rescue the girl. Percy drew riptide, and Thalia had aegis and her spear out. They ran forward, hoping to distract the gorgons.

"Oi you ugly hags" Thalia shouted as she moved forward.

They turned towards the two, away from the young girl. She had golden blond hair, which was dirty and knotted.

The gorgons snarled towards Thalia and when they saw Percy they screeched.

"You killed our sister!"

Percy mentally face palmed,

Oh great, more enemies I didn't even know about.

The gorgons moved to match the charging demigods using their long claws as blades. One went for Thalia, one went for Percy.

Percy was on the defence, as the gorgon used her agility and long claws to keep on slashing at Percy who could only parry.

Thalia wasn't faring much better as the gorgon did the same thing to her. But Thalia moved onto the offensive quickly. She batted the claws away with Aegis and started stabbing with her spear. Leaving the gorgon to dodge each strike. Percy, turned back to his own fight and did a similar thing to Thalia. When the gorgon next swiped, Percy parried her claws away powerfully with his sword and started going on the attack. The gorgon was now the one of the defence. Eventually knocked the gorgon onto the floor until he heard a scream. Percy looked towards where Apollo's daughter was expecting it to be her, but Percy saw the girl being escorted away by the hunters. That could only mean one thing...

"Thalia!" He exclaimed turning towards her fight.
Aegis and her spear were on the floor and she was clutching her arm which looked bad.

Its broken.

Percy immediately knew.

Apollo's blessing is handy. APOLLO'S BLESSING

Percy remembered, but there were no sources of light.

The gorgon smirked and started leaning in to land the final blow on Thalia.

"Nooo" Percy shouted,

I have to save Thalia somehow, but I can't with this gorgon attacking me.

Then Percy saw something flash in the corner of his eye. Thalia's shield, aegis.

There was a reflection.

He looked towards the other gorgon she was fighting.

That reflection had deflected towards her.

He focused on the light for a second, imagined it growing exponentially.

A bright flash filled his vision and most likely everyone else.

Maybe that was a bit too bright.

But it certainly did what he intended. Both gorgons were blinded and distracted.

So at this point Percy did something stupid, and something that might as well get him killed.

He threw his sword at the gorgon, impaling her in the back.

She turned to dust.

Okay Thalia is safe now.

Then he heard a snarl. Percy looked down.

"You killed my other sister!"

The gorgon screeched and launched herself at Percy.

He jumped out of the way and started rolling around, dodging and ducking the swiped from the deadly claws.

I can't do anything, riptide isn't in my pocket still.

Your necklace.

He had know time to wonder just who's voice that was but Percy remembered the necklace he got as spoils from the chimera yesterday. He grabbed it and squeezed the necklace. It shone brightly.

After the light was gone, Percy looked down into his hand.

It was a beautiful Greek sword, just like riptide. But it was different. It was like backbiter... Luke's sword. But rather than being half celestial bronze and half mortal steel, it had camo like patterns all along the blade where two metals had fused into one. One of the metals was celestial bronze, but the other... It was a shining gold colour, a metal he had never seen before.

Percy would have to look at it more later, because he quickly had to use it. He parried the gorgons claws and quickly got back on the offensive. Slashing and attacking until she was forced onto her knees. He felt riptide in his pocket so he quickly drew it and help the blade in his hand. He crossed the two blades at the gorgons throat.

"You can kill me, but you not going to stop her. She's going to wake up, nothing can stop her now!"

"Who? Who's going to wake up? What's going to happen?"

Before Percy could force answers out of her, the gorgon pushed herself forward into the two blades, evaporating into golden dust.

Leaving Percy stood, knowing a new storm was coming.

Hey guys I hope you like that chapter. There's the first look at Percy's new sword, and this is the first proper step onto the next journey. After the next chapter. There will be 3 chapters. Each one will be a month with the hunt, and then we get to camp Jupiter.

But now for the announcement. Basically, the updates may be more scarce than usual. Because with this whole corona virus locking me in my house, i'm going to start work on my new piece of work. A completely original novel. Don't worry i'll still be updating this when I can, ima need a break from writing gruesome horror scenes every so often. I'll try and update this when I can, but once i've finished the horror novel then I'll try and make this a priority guys. So there will be updates, but they may be once every two weeks instead. (Still more consistent than I am now to be fair).

But I hope you guys understand and i'll keep you updated on my book. I understand you guys probably don't care about that, but if any of you guys do, feel free to ask and i'll tell you the plot in next chapter if you want.

Thank you guys for the support and everything. Review if ya want, and i'll see you in the next chapter.

Addios me amigos.
