Chapter 21
Bella 's POV
I woke up the next morning with an arm wrapped around my waist. I looked over and I saw that Elijah was still here. I rolled over and ran my fingers gently across his face. He stirred slightly but relaxed slightly. I bit my lip and removed his arm as I slowly got up. I did my morning routine, came out of the bathroom, and Elijah was gone. I nodded and walked downstairs.
"I'm so glad you have a noise shield around your room." Caleb said when I walked into the dining room. I laughed and poured me a cup of coffee.
"I'm glad we found the spell in the first place." I said smirking.
"Yeah cause you and Pogue weren't so quiet when you two were together." He scoffed. I sat down beside him and grabbed a croissant.
"Did he say anything before he left?" I asked him.
"He'll be back in a hour. He's gonna take you to the Crescent Pack and get some answers." He said sipping his coffee. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"He sleeps with me then demands to get answers none of us know. Perfect." I said leaning back in the chair.
"He loves you, Bells. That's why he's doing this. Give him a chance." He told me.
"I am. I just. I just don't see why he wants the answers now. We have time." I said shrugging. He sat down his cup.
"Bella, the longer we wait, the more painful it'll be for you and him. You know how the legend goes." He told me.
"Exactly. We wait until we're both in pain then we'll know who it is." I said smirking again.
"That's cruel. For the both of you." He said.
"Atleast we'll know who it is." I said peeling apart my croissant. He sighed and leaned back in his chair. I looked at him again. He was staring at me. I huffed and tossed down my bread.
"Fine. Just to please the men in my life, Ill go find my wolf." I said standing.
"Bella, wait until Elijah can take you." He said.
"No. Everyone is so eager to know, so I'm gonna go and find him." I snapped. I walked off to the garage and I grabbed the keys to the Jeep. I opened the door and jumped into the Jeep. I drove the way to the bayou. I parked near a silver trailer. Hayley stepped out of the trailer and crossed her arms. I got out of the jeep and walked up to her.
"Why are you here?" She asked sighing.
"To find a wolf to please my brothers and Elijah. It's a legend thing, that I don't want to go into detail about, but I'm sure someone will tell you eventually." I said looking around.
"Well there's plenty of wolves here." She said huffing. I hummed and started walking.
"You don't know where you're going." She said following me.
"If I get lost, I'll make sure to howl." I told her. I heard her growl annoyed. I cotinued to walk around until my phone rung. I pulled it out and saw Elijahs name.
"Hello darling." I answered.
"Isabella. Where are you?" He asked.
"Bayou. Looking for my wolf since everyone is so adamant about finding him. Haven't found him yet, if you're wondering." I said looking around.
"Isabella, I told your brother." He started.
"I know what you told him. Everyone wants answers so I'm getting them as we speak." I said. I stopped when I felt warmth near.
"I'm on my way. Don't leave until I get there." He told me.
"Whatever. Bye." I said hanging up. I looked around and I followed the warmth. The heat inside me intensified as I got closer. I saw Jackson in a small clearing shooting a bow and arrow.
"Manly man of the woods?" I asked stepping through. He looked back at me.
"Hey. How did you find me? No one knows about this spot but me." He said putting down the bow.
"I followed the warmth." I said looking around.
"Followed the warmth? What does that mean?" He asked walking over to me.
"A stupid legend that we never believed in until now. We'll explain things later." I told him. He raised his eyebrows in question.
"Should I be worried?" He asked.
"I don't think so. If no one dies, we'll be fine." I said smirking. He laughed.
"What brings you here, Bella?" He asked.
"The legend. Everyone is freaking out about it and I'm getting annoyed with it. So I decided to take things into my own hands." I said walking around.
"Can you sum it up?" He asked.
"Apparently you're my wolf. A witch that has a wolf, kinda weird sorta, thing." I said shrugging. The breeze blew through. It was quiet and peaceful.
"Elijah and probably my brothers are gonna be here shortly. Ill let my brother, the almighty noble one of the two of us, explain everything to you." I told him.
"You're with Elijah?" He asked.
"I'm not sure what we are. He and I haven't discussed every detail yet." I said turning back to look at him. He nodded and looked at his hands.
"You ever shot a bow and arrow?" He asked.
"No. I prefer flinging people away." I said smiling. He laughed and walked over. He set me up and told me what to do. I aimed at the target and hit it on the first try.
"Are you sure you've never done this?" He asked me.
"I am completely sure." I said laughing. He scoffed and looked at the target.
"Well you're a natural. Ill give you that." He said going to the target. He pulled out the arrows and came back over.
"We should head back to camp. Elijah and the others should be here by now." He said. I nodded and handed him the bow.
