Chapter 22
Bella's POV
We walked slowly back towards his silver Airstream. Jackson and I made small talk as we walked. We had a few things in common that surprised us both. We started coming towards the trailer and the shed. Tylers Hummer and Elijahs Cayenne were parked beside the jeep. Hayley was talking with Elijah as we walked up.
"Fancy seeing everyone here!" I said sarcastically.
"Isabella." Elijah said walking up to me.
"Hey. Look! I found my wolfy! Everythings settled now!" I told him smilling. He sighed and glanced at Jackson. I saw Caleb rubbing his neck nervously.
"Well not everything is settled yet, Bells." He said.
"What do you mean not everything is settled?" I asked crossing my arms. Pogue shoved him and nodded. He wouldn't answer.
"Don't make me look inside your head, Caleb." I warned him. He sighed and looked down.
"I called Billy after you left. There's more to the story than we know. Apparently, the witch and wolf have to seal their bond. The tension will rise at a time and neither one will be able to control it once it starts. But since you two found each other you wont feel any pain." He said.
"Seal their bond?" Hayley asked.
"He and I have to have sex in order to finish the bond. But it has to be at the right time to complete it." I said sighing.
"Absolutely not." Elijah spoke up.
"Elijah there's no stopping it once it starts. Once the timing is right, their bodies will fight to get close to the other." Tyler said.
"Well this wolfy/witchy thing just keeps getting funner and funner! What else is there? I have a human connection as well?" I snapped.
"Lets hope not. I hate to see that poor human deal with you." Reid scoffed. I glared at him then turned back to my brother.
"How did you find out it was Jackson?" Elijah asked.
"I got this warm tingly feeling in my stomach. Like with you I get this tingling up my spine." I told him.
"So I'm your vampire?" He asked.
"I guess so." I said shrugging.
"Don't act so thrilled to know this new information, Isabella." He said scoffing. I rolled my eyes at his sarcasm.
"Look none of us asked for any of this. History is just repeating itself and its sucking right now. We got our answers, Caleb will tell Jackson the information he needs to know so he's not freaking out, and then Jackson and I will discuss later on what to do when this bonding will take." I huffed out.
"First you and I will discuss it. Alone." Elijah said fixing his coat. I rolled my eyes again.
"Whatever." I told him. My phone beeped. I pulled it out and sighed.
"Marcel needs me. I'll see everyone later." I said. I kissed Elijahs cheek, nodded to Jackson, and hugged my brothers then left in the Jeep.
Elijahs POV
I watched as she left in a hurry. I looked at her brother as he scrubbed his hands across his face.
"Is your sister always a pain in the ass?" I asked him.
"Yup. But she also likes things to go her way and not rushed into. This is all new to her and us, as well as for yourself and Jacksons. She wants to understand everything before jumping head first into stuff." He explained. He nodded for Jackson to follow him. They walked down to the pier to talk.
"So what happens to you and me now?" Hayley asked me.
"We remain friends. I know how we feel about each other but I love Isabella as well. No she hasn't put me under any spell, it's just what I feel for her. Everythings different." I said.
"Clearly." She scoffed. Then she walked off. I left the bayou so that The Brothers could explain everything to Jackson. I headed to my home and went to my office. Hours passed. I was putting away a book when Isabella walked in, in just a tshirt. She hopped up on my desk and took my drink.
"Please tell me the bond didn't get completed this early." I said glaring at the shirt she wore.
"No. I was bloodied from fighting the other vampires Marcel challenged me too. Very therapeutic." She said smiling.
"Isabella." I started.
"Elijah, he's not the one I love. Okay? This bond thing scares me just as much as it scares you. I never believed in any of the legends until they started coming true and it's making everything different. I came here to New Orleans to avoid going home to another boring routine. I didn't expect to fall in love with another vampire." She told me. I walked over to her and picked her hand up and kissed it.
"I'm just afraid of losing you. I just. I just never thought I'd fall in love with another witch either. I guess our plans got mixed up somewhere in the universe." I told her.
"The universe sucks anyway." She said laughing. I leaned my forehead against hers and inhaled. This is what I wanted. She is what I wanted. But I couldn't hide the feeling that something or someone was about to ruin it all for us.
